Newbie Q: feat progression

Just a quick question on how often you gain new feats. I've got the handbook, and while I can find bonus feats for races and classes, as well as starting feats (such as weapon proficiency), I can't find anything about how often you get to pick a new feat under normal circumstances (ie. ignoring bonus feats).

If someone could quickly explain it, or point to a page in the handbook, it would be appreciated.

Feats progress at every other level in the Pathfinder RPG. So you would get a bonus feat at lvl 1, then another one at lvl 3, and every other odd level after that. See page 13 of the PF Beta.
