I couldn't see any LFG forums/threads, so I thought this would be the most appropriate place. If not, apologies.

My friend and I are both looking for some people to play Pathfinder with in the brisbane area. We have the Beta Handbook and the first chapter of the Curse of the Crimson Throne; however, neither of us are experienced enough to DM. We're newbies, but with a good grasp on the rules, and willing to learn. If there are any people in the Brisbane area who want to get together for regular games, give me a yell.

Just a quick question on how often you gain new feats. I've got the handbook, and while I can find bonus feats for races and classes, as well as starting feats (such as weapon proficiency), I can't find anything about how often you get to pick a new feat under normal circumstances (ie. ignoring bonus feats).

If someone could quickly explain it, or point to a page in the handbook, it would be appreciated.

I understand. Thanks to all!

Thanks. You're both a great help. I'll rephrase the question you didn't understand. In the context of, 'you can't acquire a number of ranks in a skill equal to your total hit dice', what is your 'total hit dice'?

I'm going to run my first session of Pathfinder with a group in a few weeks. I just wanted to clarify how hit points are determined. The only elusive explanation in the handbook says:

Standard: Maximum hit points for 1st level plus your
Constitution modifier and any other bonuses.

Is this taken to mean the maximum possible result of the class' hit die (for example, if it's a d12, 12 starting hp), plus constitution modifier (so if it's +2, then it becomes 14 starting hp)? Then each time the character levels up, does one roll a die (as determined by the hit die) and add the result on to their HP permanently? Are there any non-random ways of gaining HP - I'd feel pretty cheated if I levelled up and only got 1 extra HP because of a bad roll.

When used in multiple, your number of hit dice keep track of what your culumative levels are across classes. Yes?

Lastly, with racial bonuses to ability scores, are they added to the base (eg. +2 to 10 strength = 12 strength) or to the modifier? If it's added to the base, then does the modifier change to reflect this?

Thanks for the help. I've searched, but want to ensure that I'm understanding correctly.

Thanks eirip and Shem.

Any word on when these will be available again? By the looks of things, they've been out for a while now.

Just wondering how long this takes to play through? I know it differs for everyone, but could someone who has played it share how long it took them? (Then I can double it to accomodate us novice players looking through the Player's Handbook for every second roll we have to do!:P )
