I goofed, I've cast one more spell than I got for today. I blessed earlier, cured light on elric, and did divine favor last round... the easiest solution I got is to turn that divine favor into a touch of good used on myself. Sorry about this, I got my profile updated so it won't happen again.

"Thank you," Reg gasps as he stands upright once more to gauge the threat around him as they follow Elric to his shop.

Reg keeps up with them but keeps his attention centred on intercepting any more attacks against either the children or his comrades.
But still he can't help wondering where the devils sprouted from.

The group makes off t\with the children and hold up in Elrics shop, some escort V to check on hers but the children are kept safe all thought the chaotic night. Sable command, Templar of the red knight and Blackkights roam the streets, mobs and looter, battle each other in the streets and you spend a very long night keeping watch. By sunrise much of the chose seems to be gone and groups of soldier now patrol the streets And you find yourself huddled in a small shop with 15 children, a group of strangers and not sure just where to go from here

Ok guys next morning, the streets seems stable again sable command, and Knights of the black hand seem every where. A few of the red knights clerics seem to be about in area's but not as many as the others

"Euphengenia are they members of your order?" he asks her noting another of the red knight clerics' passing by after the last band of knights taking the time to stretch his legs.

Euphegenia moves to stand beside Reg, "Yes they are, I'll go and have a word with them and find out what is going on."

She then leaves the building and calls out to the Knights, by name if she recognises any of them. She will try and establish what is going on and get a message to her master that his daughter is safe.

Reg having stretched himself stays close by in case Euphegina gets into trouble.

Well trouble enough that it sends Elric out to help thats usually a good sign there's trouble after all!

Since we had overnight can Keen make an attempt to identify the magic items we picked up?

Obviously bored and in a bad mood from dealing with a posse of children in a small building, Keen is going to hang back unless he sees an attractive looking woman in which case he will interject himself in the discussion and express concern for the children's future.

"We also have this severed head and Teelos..."

"So which church gets to perform the final rites unless someone can raise him?" Reg asks curiously.

Reg raises his hands at their look.
"Hey I know we probably don't have enough just to get in touch with someone who can but I had to say it okay?!" Reg replies defensively.
"I've heard about it never actually met anyone who had been raised so I just thought I mention it?" Reg adds.
"So does anyone know how to appraise everything else that Keen isn't identifying?" Reg asks.

Everyone else, whats the plan?

Reg plans on making sure the kids are okay, if they do sell those items off and divvy it up he'll make sure half goes towards their welfare, of course Reg will need to seek advise since he hadn't planned on surviving the battle with Gaedren...

M Human Sorcerer 1

"Half? That's a prince's ransom. Let's find a nice orphanage and donate perhaps 50gp and 20gp/ week as long as they take good care of the kids... kids should be able to get good care for that. That way we can check up on them and make sure they are doing a good job as well."

"Some of this stuff looks like it belongs to someone. Maybe if we track down who it belongs to we can get a bigger reward."

"Lets split up, you can see about finding somewhere good to take the children, I'll try and track down these coats of arms. We should stay in groups since the city is pretty rough right now."

Keen is going to sketch all the coats of arms and go out and try and track down who owns it. Is anyone going with Keen?

"Why not ask Euphengenia if her order can identify that heraldric crest after all they've been based in Korvosa long enough to be familiar with whose in charge around here, maybe even further than that depending on where that broken brooch hails from," Reg points out.

Reg frowns.

"I was always led to believe the church of Sune... sorry to say this was a little too fond of pretty faces, do you think they can find homes for these kids or do we need to get them away from Korvosa for a chance of a new life beyond the reach of the likes of Gaedren Lamm?" Reg asks.

GM

Sorry guys been sick am updating as I can, feel free to role play a bit. You can take this as downtime if you like to find the kids homes and such. The red knights will take the kids pretty easy, as you even have a cleric of that order. Sune might although they are a very small temple and could not take them all, but the red knight will for sure, as will the church of Bane, or at lest the Order of the black hand. They both serve bane but the church does not control the order. Also there are orphanages in the city as well as sweat shops that will willing take the children . Also note there are a few other large temples in the city. Anhur,Azuth,Hoar,Lathandar and Wakeen would take some or all of the children with donations of course

Also Keen the badge looks familiar you have seen it but can't place it. You guys can take as much as 3 days down time if you like. Just left me know what you have planned

Female Air Genasi Wizard 1 (Conjurer)

V plans to spend time with the two kids she offered a home to to see if they want to stay with her. It will take some adjustments for her to make room for them but she'd rather she teach them than them end up in a sweatshop.

Male Chessentan human Paladin/Rogue 1st/1st

Reg will look into the Red Knights can take in those Sune can't handle as he trusts them due to Euphengenia's presence more than the Banites as he knows little except not to cross them and he doesn't want to leave the kids in the hands of those he doesn't feel right about which was also the reason for the comment above but this message is in lieu of a response from Bean on the matter to resolve that issue

"Sune frowns on the use of children in the ways that Lamm did, and especially how "giggles" did too." Bean says empathically, "Children are a blessing to show the joy, love, and passion of life. All of which are part of Sune's portfolio... contrary to popular belief not everything that Sune's interested in happens in the bedroom. After all there is much more to love joy beauty and passion than that one act. I myself was raised in a Sunite orphanage... and while I did become a priest, most the others of my age are living "normal" happy lives in Sembia. In fact before I committed to the clergy I was training to be a merchant."

Bean stops for a minute as he has a thought, "By the way if we decide we want to sell some of this I have a few contacts with a merchant's guild... I might be able to get a better price than normal but that too would probably take some time... especially with the events of last night."

I got the merchantile background feat, if I sell stuff it's at 75% instead of 50%. If we need something big bought, once a month I can get something for 75%.

GM

Any thing else yall wish to do with downtime, buy stuff, sell loot or anything else before we move on?

M Human Sorcerer 1

Keen would love to ditch the second wand of MM and pick up some useful scrolls or cool magic gee-gaws. Can Bean go with him and liquidate ninja weapon and other junk and we divide it up and do a little shopping? Probably not much but he might be able to pick up a scroll or something. Anyone? Also, what about the seer, are we going back there?

Seeker, does Keen have any luck chasing down the crest?

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

Bean doesn't mind at all, and I'll do a post up of that later today, I'm going to wait until then to make sure that no one else wants to attend. I'll post it in multiple blocks so that if anyone with me wants to interject something or add their own stuff in it they can.

Waiting on Reg to see his opinion on what I said about the orphans. I don't really mind where they go as a player or character, but I saw that as a good place to get some RP in so I went with it.

"You might want to check to see if V can use that before you sell it," Reg advises Keen.

"If you feel they can treat them properly then okay, but I'll see how many Euphengenia's people can cope with since I'd rather none fell into the arms of the Banites," Reg nods back to Bean.
"So what did the silvery stuff do and that magic oil stuff, how long does it last?" Reg asks Keen about the vials of oil recovered from Gaedren's lair.

M Human Sorcerer 1

Keen lays out all the treasure and says "If anyone wants any of these things then claim them now. We'll sell the rest and then once the rest is sold you can pay us back for any items you claimed. Then I'm going shopping."

For a refresher on what there is:

Spoiler:
* teak cigar case inlaid with tiny bits of jade worth 20-25 gp-

I assume if someone wants something we appraise it then after treasure is divvied they pay the group back at the value we would have been able to sell it for (usually 1/2 price).

I don't mind you guys RPing taking care of the children but Keen just isn't much interested. There is no reason Can we please get cooking on some of this stuff as this bit is really starting to drag?

Over the next few days the city calms down but many area’s are still without order, riots and protests spring up and the sable guard and the Order of the black hand seem to be hammering down some area’s of the city. V takes in 2 of the children a boy named Eurid and a girl Ilzza. Elric gets his shop back to running order as Euphegenia’s order take in the children. Bean holds a small ceremony for the fallen teelos .

The next day the group makes it’s way toward Zellara’s Home. You find it abandoned as if it had been empty for weeks. No sign of food, the wall hangings the rugs, or Zellara herself can be found—the furniture is in pieces scattered throughout the room. From no were Zellara appears “Hello my friends as you know I am dead, my thirst for vengeance and my deck, which you now hold kept me here. It allowed me to reach out to you and see Lamms end. He took my son from me, then her took my life. Now I am the deck and the deck is me. I am tied to it as much as my blood is tied to this city, my soul is here, and something lurks in the dark, something I can feel. A darkness now moves in this city something that wishes harm, dark times are ahead.” She looks to Euphegenia You now hold my deck and so you hold me, I will aid you where and when I can, all who hold my deck will hear me and sometimes I will be able to bring myself forward as I do now. The deck sees many things as I do now. Luck be with you my friends” With that’s she’s gone yet Euphegenia can feel the deck pulse almost as if alive

But that was not the end of the odd events for you for as Hakeen and Bean set about selling items a merchant Hakeen showed the brooch to smiled as he said ”That belongs to the queen herself! A reward has been posted, yes Taking this to the palace would bring great reward”. It seemed as if the odd events of this week were not yet over for you.

"Whilst I'm curious about the throwing star, its still party treasure so I'd suggest keeping the two vials and the wand handy and see what you can get for the rest barring what the others might want to keep," Reg shrugs.

"Never heard of silversheen, what does it do?" Reg asks Keen.

"The keen edge stuff sounds like it would be handy for Elric with that axe of his," notes Reg.

"So why is that throwing star worth so much?" Reg asks unable to contain his curiosity any more.

"Well laddies and lasses, looks like fate is a calling us, my momma, bless her soul, always used to say if fate comes a knocking you had better open the door before it kicks it in!" she chuckles at the memory of her dear old ma.

"So we have the queens amulet, what do we know of her, being new to the city I am a little lost on local politics."

Male Aasimar Cloistered Cleric 2

providing you are ok with it, Bean will go talk to some old friends from that guild he trained in and sell the extra stuff there. After finishing with that he'll stop by the temple and let them know he is ok, and see if there is room for an orphan. He doesn't nessecarily want to send any of the kids away from Korvosa so if there isn't enough room locally he'll just tell the party that. After finishing at the temple he'll return to the group to tell them what he's heard/ hand over the gold, then go out on the town for a good time/ gather information.

Euphegenia finally gives up on avoiding her superiors and shows up at the church determined to submit a report and accept any punishment for failing in the care of her headstrong charge, who has probably been left emotionally crippled due to her negligence.

She faces her superior with eyes down cast and a look of utter sorrow on her face for her failings.

If they will accept her report she will submit all that happened, including the recovery of the Queen's amulet, she will also try and learn why such riots occurred after the kings death, is the queen disliked that much or is foul play suspected?

Spoiler:

Your Superior is not pleased by the condition of your charge at all. In fact he thinks it might be good for you to get away from the temple and find your faith a bit more.

You are given a prayer of pence. And told for the good of the temple you should take the amulet to the queen. You are told the queen was half the kings age and a outsider, not from the city's nobility. Insted the king choose an outsider a noble from Unther, the city is unsure of her and the nobles are not happy having an outsider on the crimson throne.

The temple man corsurn however is the fact she brought in the Order of the Black Hand to deal with the roits. While not part of Banes church he is the pardon of the Order. An order who think of order and Law above all good and evil, right and wrong matter not to them only the Letter of the law and order and they brutally enforce it at any cost.

Your failure can be atoned for, you must get close to the queen if you can. The Red knight hopes to bring order to the city without allowing a tyrants fist to crush it. This you will see to, become the order ear with the queen if you can

With that you are dismissed

As you make you way toward the castle the tension in the hot stale air is thick. Patrols of Knights can be seen in the Black armor of their order. Sable knights seem out more in number as well.

As a terrifying testament to the powers of the mighty overlord ruled this land thousands of years ago, Castle Korvosa’s long shadow looms over the city. A magnificent achievement of architecture, the castle walls and spires rise high into the sky above. The entire structure looms even higher for its ancient foundation—a Untheric ruin in the shape of an immense flat-topped pyramid. Although one corner of this impressive foundation has fallen into ruin, the additions built onto the sides by eager and talented Korvosan masons have created one of the most recognizable landmarks in all of Chessenta.

Castle Korvosa can be approached from all four directions—ramps or stairways allow access up the sides of the pyramid to the courtyard surrounding the central structure. Normally, petitioners to the monarchy Meaning you normlly would approach from the Great Ramp, wait in the Public Courtyard to speak to the Korvosan Guards on duty, and hope for a chance to be heard. In these frantic times, the Castle itself has been locked tight and bristles with pikes and crossbows.

As you Approach a palace Guard hails you. "Halt and stat your business! He says from the gate.
