Finally I got to do some more colouring after a busy time working and writing.
I finished off Elgiad Mada for Daigle.
I'm not too fond of how the skin on his face turned out, but I'm happy with the rest.
Hope you like it too Adam.

Crow81 wrote:Hugo Solis let me know when your ready for another one I have a Fitz Carrin a Dwarven cleric of Cayden Cailean he was a former slave who was freed by his god. he has the strength and travel domains.
He wields a battle ax and a shield he wears chain mail. He has short hair and a trimmed beard. He has grey hair and black eyes. His clan called ThunderClap was decimated on the plains of sorrow.

I hope this is cool, Crow. I know you requested Hugo do this design for you, but I thought I'd give it a swing.
Great work Immora!!!

Well, other than a dislike of those conical hats(you'd know what kind I mean if I had a picture) and a humble suggestion that, if it's not vaugely combat-related, to include a flute somehow, I have no further suggestions on the subject. I trust you to draw him well.

When I thanked "A 2E Floppy-Eared Golem" for his attempt at drawing my two PC's I did not mean to offend anyone. With that being said, I will withdraw my request for any other drawings to reduce the waiting list by at least two. Thank you all for your work. I am sorry I am such a stickler and not able to express myself in what I would like to have drawn. Thanks again.
Just my 2 cp.

Don't worry! I can't speak for floppy -or anyone else- but I think you comment wasn't offensive at all. We do need a bit more criticism, although this is not a "professional" thread so its implied that we are all amateurs, with the exception of Keegan an Immora, and we need to review the work as such. There is no waiting list and I would ask you not to "remove" your characters from the "line" on account of you thinking somebody got offended. We are a happy friendly thread eager for artistry opportunity and much more free time to do all requests!
BTW: There is not a "line" of commissions waiting to be done. Its more like a pool of character options where everybody is free to pick the character hi/she fancies to draw. You may requet somebody in particula to do it but that's entirely up to the drawer to see if he/she can/wants to do it.
Cheers! :)

I was slightly offended, but that's as much my own fault as anyone's. The post, to me, read like a dismissal of the work, with a nod towards the effort put in, and a cryptic comment about the drawing being 'unusual'--which was probably meant as a complement, actually. I would have appreciated some actual critical feedback, something along the lines of "That pose seems awkward, can you make the figure more dynamic?" or even, "That's not exactly what I had in mind; I was looking for (whatever it is you'd have liked to have seen)."
I didn't really have any desire to try the second half-orc or even do the first one over without any actual concrete criticism.
No hard feelings, but I thought it would be sensible for me to articulate how I felt, so that in the future people will know that if they would like me to rework something, that's not a problem, but I'm going to need some guidelines so that I don't either repeat the same mistakes or go down some other avenue that is not what is being requested, either.

A 2E Floppy-Eared Golem, I apologize for not being specific in what I thought of your picture. I was in my own way trying to be "diplomatic". If you truly want some criticism, I will try. Somehow the face was not what I pictured a Half-orc as looking like. Perhaps I am spoiled by seeing what has been offered through WotC and Paizo. It looked sort of cartoony (if that is even a word). I did not get the impression of his being 6' 8" tall and weighing 305 pounds from your drawing. He more closely resembled a Goblin to me than a Half-orc. I am not sure what I expected as a shortbow but that is not his primary weapon. His primary weapon is an Earthbreaker. I sort of envision that as being a Great Hammer, a two-handed massive hammer with a spiky facing on it. Perhaps some runes vaguely apparent on the side of the head. As a Barbarian he has more intelligence than is usual for a Half-orc Barbarian, and that is why he has covered all areas of combat with a bludgeoning weapon, a piercing weapon (the Shortbow which also covers range), and a piercing/slashing weapon in a Halberd.
If that gives you a little better idea of what I would like to see then feel free to draw him again. If you feel it is not worth the frustration I will understand. I did not mean to insult you. I did not realize that criticism was expected and accepted regardless of how much it might hurt a person's feelings.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll give it a shot. I had avoided the Earthbreaker because I hadn't heard of that weapon before. Thanks for describing it for me.
Cartoony is definitely a word; I can try to go more "realistic," and I'll take a look at some different drawings of half-orcs to get a better idea. If you want and know of any pictures online that show half-orcs the way you would like yours to appear, you could put some links up here and I'll have a look.
Peace,
2E Flop.

Ah, that is helpful, and quite a great drawing, Hugo! I've actually just finished another version of Zaggorm Greysnake: bigger, badder, madder, more mithril-shirty, and now with a (spiked warhammer-type) Earthbreaker! The halberd is strapped to his back; blade down (and unseen in the image).
I'm happy to keep working on this piece for you, Silverhair, if this one doesn't quite do it. I realize the action pose may not be the best for presentation in-game. This one was great practice for me, though, as I don't think I've done a figure in that particular perspective before. If you prefer a more static pose, I can work on that. If you feel this one is still too cartoony, though, it would probably be best if someone else gave it a go, because while I can adapt my style within certain parameters, I'm not the best realist when it comes to drawing (and probably many other things in life, too).

silverhair2008 |

I like the face, and the pose is good. I agree that it might not work too well for “in-game” representation. I did an attempt at creating the PC using HeroBuilder. I will try to include the picture. It might give you some references into what I would like to see. I am not very good at describing what I want and that is part of our problem. I suppose you could say it is like trying to describe pornography, “I can’t tell you what it is, or what it looks like but I know it when I see it.” The Earthbreaker looks good. I never pictured it with teethlike spikes. Interesting take on the subject. Let’s see if this works.
EDIT: The picture didn't transfer. Darn it. (No profanity here.) Could you try another pose, say a little more as if he is meeting his new party members for the first time? In game they met when he had accompanied the village Elder to recover one of the tribes stray mischief makers, a female Half-orc Fighter in Riddleport who had been captured and bound by the party members after their Fighter had been killed by some Ogre's. Zaggorm was with the Elder and one other Half-orc. Does this help any at all?

This is good practice for both of us, you for drawing and me for describing what I envision. Oh, as you can probable gather the background of what I described earlier took place in Riddleport. We are playing Second Darkness. You don't have to make the background a city street, just thought I would give you an idea of where they all met.

2E Floppy-Eared Golem:
Sorry to take so long getting back to you! I really like the piece, especially the articulation in the limbs and the little details around the head and face (do insects have faces, per se?)! It's actually even more gruesome drawn than it was in my head (and that is absolutely meant as a compliment).
The one addition I'd like to see is something nearby to give it a sense of scale: a coin, maybe? The insect I had in mind was a little larger than one of the new American gold dollar coins, if that gives you a sense.
Thanks very much for doing this! May I post it on FB (giving full credit, of course)?
Thanks again,
-Speck

Well, the head gave me some trouble. Nobody's mentioned it yet, so I guess I did an okay job of covering my blunder, but I'm going to go ahead and confess to this. If you look at the insect, you'll notice that you are looking at the underside of the critter. When I finished the sketch, I noticed that I had made a major goof: while the abdomen and thorax parts were an underbelly view, in my zeal for dessicated detail as I drew, I was blissfully unaware that the top-down view of the head I was going for would be completely wrong, so I quickly fudged over the buggy insect eyes and such to give the illusion that we're looking at the underside of the head. I'm not sure how well that worked, but it seems that no one's minded that oddity. Actually, since it's such a creepy item, I think the twist of that mistake might work with the creepiness.
Anyhow, I will work on another sketch and avoid that mistake this time, as well as put a coin close by for scale. If you want to put the original sketch on facebook, that would be great.
Thanks!

This is such a great thread! Now that I'm finally running another Pathfinder game, I was hoping I could get my party drawn. ^_^
They are:
*Male human (Chelaxian) wizard, focusing in devil summoning, but a recent convert to the faith of Sarenrae. Kind of a weedy guy in robes with a staff. Nothing too complicated for him.
*Male human (Chelaxian) barbarian; the wizard's older brother. Used to study magic until he got dropped out of one of the Academae's towers, and now he doesn't think so good. Big, brawny guy, close-cropped hair with a prominent white/grey streak, fights with a big club.
*Male human (Chelaxian) fighter. Wears a chain shirt under his modest finery, the sort of thing you'd wear if you were the oldest son of a military commander. Carries a fine longsword; it was his father's, before he was cast out of the Sable Company as a traitor.
*Female half-elf rogue. Short black hair, pale skin, one eye (green), wears a patch over the missing one, but also keeps her hair long in the front to cover that half of her face. Wears tight black leather, exposed midriff. Fights with a war fan, but keeps a whip on hand. For whipping.
*Female halfling priestess of Pharasma. Older, matronly even. Frail-looking but still adventuring, wizened and brown like older halflings get, grey-haired. Usually dresses more like a midwife than one of the black-clad grave priests. Only visible weapon is a dagger; doesn't seem to wear any armor.
Any help on this would be wonderful!
Thanks,
Jeremy Puckett

Are you guys still taking requests? If so, I have one.

The request its sort of a "pool" where artists fish for characters. You can request someone in particular f course but in general everybody is more than welcome to pick it and render it. Post you character and hopefully in someone has the time she/he will take it!

Awesome...
I actually have two requests for the artists at large that are watching this thread..
1. My character
Human (Ulfen) Barbarian Cleric from the Lands of the Linnorm Kings (Viking cleric type). With a wolf pelt thrown over his shoulder, this character harkens back to an earlier darker age, when Old Night still held sway over the North. With a beastial roar, he often charges headlong in to combat swinging his mace without fear.
2. Villian
A dark humanoid, that calls himself The Wolf King. With spikey armour (warhammer chaos knight), and a great horned helment, this blackguard has sold his soul to darker powers. His mount is a large nightmare. Armed with morning star, he beats opponents into submission.
Cheers!

Hey, anybody want to draw a rather bizarre cat?
He's a druid/diviner, banned subschool is evocation. Yes, he's awakened. He has grey fur. He has a small lens over his right eyesocket (his actual eye was gouged out in a fight). It's a high-tech/magic item which boosts his divinatory powers. It shows a small red dot where his eye should be, and has a small cord on it leading up to his ear.
Other than that: He is quite old, over 50 (over 200 cat years, ouch)and has survived only through a spell which doesn't even work that well on him. He doesn't get much sleep, and should have a worried/depressed expression on him.
Any takers?

Er, I'll tentatively take this... not sure how my cat-drawing skillz are going to measure up, but I have a weakness for the bizarre and personable and anthropomorphic. Is the tech/magic item like a lens that goes over his eye, or is it somehow a replacement for his eye? And either way, it is "plugged into" his ear, right? I am envisioning some kind of obscene bluetooth/cell phone monocle with a sinister look to it. Do you prefer a full-body pose or just a head portrait?
Anyone else feel free to take this as well. My que is getting a little full at the moment, but I can't resist this melancholy nearly-immortal cat cyborg.

It's a lens. And no, it isn't plugged in, it's like a monocle sort of thing. It goes around his ear. And as for full body or head pose, either is fine.
Thanks a ton.EDIT: 'Awakened' means that he is intelligent.
