Hello,
I know there was a similar thread a while ago, but my search-fu seems weak and I couldn't find it. So please forgive the new thread on an old, old topic. I'd like to know what the status is on the efforts to make it possible to add non-subscription items to shipments of subscription items. I'm desparatly waiting for news on this! There's more and more stuff coming out each month, that I'd really like to order, but being from Germany; shipping costs are an issue for me. I can't afford more than one shipment each month and the current situation feels sub-optimal to me. I really like being a subscriber, but sometimes I'm getting the impression that canceling my subs and placing an order each month with all the stuff I'd like, would be the better option to me. But this way I won't get the PDF and the PF advantage, which would be a real bummer. If this issue can't be fixed (which seems to be the case), than a books-only option for a Chronicles subscription would be great! I would subscribe to PF Chronicles on the spot, if the subscription wouldn't include map folios, cards and other stuff I have no use for!
So, please tell me, if there'll be a solution to this problem in the near future. There are many loyal customers from overseas on the boards and I believe that I'm not the only one with this problem.

And the discount you get for being an adventure path subscriber easily makes up for the map packs being in the chronicles subscription

Sorry, Captain, but this argument doesn't work for me! :-)
I haven't gotten my first map pack yet but the presence of them made me hesitate on my subscription. I'm open minded until I see the first one. One of my concerns is that they seem to come later in the AP cycle so if you start running the module when it comes out I think many of the maps will be worthless by the time you get them.
Am I going to need a riddleport map in 3 months?
The ability to opt out of individual items in a subscription would be cool... but I know that contradicts the point.

Thanks for keeping up working on it!
I already had to cancel single purchases here several times, because the shipping costs just were so high that even the lowest sale prices here grew unattractive. Quite often shipping costs doubled the bill. Even worse shipping times and shipping costs of amazon.com often are way more attractive.
I'd vastly prefer to support you folks, though!
Looking forward to this functionality,
Günther
@ comments about map products:
The products contain a collection of all maps used in the adventure path. The APs being created month by month it would be very difficult for Paizo to know up to five months ahead which maps to include.

I'd say it's a necessary evil - in order for the map folio to be done, they need maps. And I do have large enough AP lag that they arrive before I could use them.
But I almost never use the folios despite all that. I think I used one map at one time. I use MapTool to show the map to players, which has the added benefit of allowing me to decide what they get to see.
I wouldn't cry a tear for map folios should they be taken out of the subscription, or stopped altogether.
But I can stomach paying an extra $2.13 (plus pro-rata shipping) a month for something I don't need. As others have said: I do save a lot because of the PF advantage (6 dollars a month for Pathfinder APs alone, and the other subscriptions can push that to over 10) so I think paying the 2.13 for access to all the nice PDFs isn't that much. They're quite handy and let me look at the stuff early.

Exactly. Better to have discussions about what belongs into a subscription. After all, the Item Cards were taken out due to our feedback.

As a side note, if you start running an Adventure Path as soon as the first chapter comes out, you're asking for all sorts of trouble, anyways. I know three DMs who started in on Rise of the Runelords as soon as they had "Burnt Offerings" in their hands. Every one of them got caught up when their parties went "off book" and the DMs improvised answers or aspects of Sandpoint without knowing how the story would progress. Every one of them made some decision or another that ended up causinga real mess.
You couldn't convince me to DM an Adventure Path without having the entire thing already in my hands.

Amen. Alleluia.

Hi there,
I was very positively surprised by the recent changes of the site:
- marking threads recently posted to
- showing number of postings since last look into any given thread
- additional password confirmation for sensitive areas of the site (-> "My Account", less comfortable, but definitely an improvement in regards to security)
But I remember that there was this other open issue, too - admittedly not connected to the site, but to the ordering code: Adding non-subscription items to regular shippings.
Especially for us customers from abroad the shipping costs for any single order clearly eat up any benefits from subscriber rebates or holiday vouchers (see countless shipping cost threads in this area of the forum).
Therefore I am pretty sure that a lot of people eagerly await this feature. Are there any news?
Thanks!

Gary managed do get a lot of that framework done last year; he's got a few high-priority items to do before he can get back to it, but I'm hopeful he'll be able to at least restart work on it later this month.
Thanks for the update, Vic!
Hopefully we'll see implementation of this feature pretty soon!
Cheers,
Günther

I've got A sort of related question (this is the closest topic I could find). If I were to subscribe to multiple products, would each monthly shipment come packaged together or would I have to pay individual costs per monthly book?
