As you follw the tracks you notice there are three different sets of footprints. You do not recognize two but you realize one set as human(or at least somethinf of similar size), and from the prints impression in the ground you can guess they are a woman's.

"I am beginning to wonder if these are goblins at all. Everyone be ready." Do the tracks appear to be leading anywhere we can determine?

Toward the center of the island. After a few hours of traveling you hear something the left of the path.

Make sight-based perception checks.

Male Human (Mwangi - Bekyar) Sorcerer 2 (Air Elemental Bloodline)

Perception (1d20-1=4)

:: perception check d20(15) + 3 = 18, still detecting evil every round ::

Shadow Lodge

No evil but you realize someone is following you. Do you alert the others?
It is about 5 pm

Sovereign Court

Male Gnome Bard/3

::perception 1d20+2=6::

Shadow Lodge

Gavrin doesn't perceive anything wrong.

Still looking around like he didn't see anything Elijah stops by a plant and waves Gavrin over pointing to the plant, when Gavrin gets into close enough Bean whispers to him, " Someone is following us. "

male Gnome Monk 1

whispering would you like for me to fall a little behind, a small unarmed gnome usually makes a good target to draw someone out of hiding? I can handle myself if I'm ready for them, and if they don't attack me at least we'll know they aren't just waiting for us to let our guard down.

Female Human Cleric lv1

::Perception d20+3=19::

whispers "Are you sure you could handle whoever it is by yourself? It is possible that they are just making sure we aren't here for them... unless, of course, they are goblins"

Male Human (Mwangi - Bekyar) Sorcerer 2 (Air Elemental Bloodline)

"Why not simply confront them as a group? If we start acting different, that would also likely tip them off that they were noticed. Just loudly say something like 'this is ridculous; let's just go home', turn around, and confront them ..."

Sovereign Court

Male Gnome Bard/3

whispering while walking again now I figure they'll just avoid us as a group otherwise they would have confronted us allready. I wasn't saying go off without me, just get a little ways ahead, they'll think they have the jump on me but I'll be ready enough to shout out and you can come right back. If you want to try your way though, I'll go with it. I just suspect they'll stay clear of us that way. As for the acting different, I'm small folk, the only reason I'm keeping up now is cause you've slowed for me to keep up, just walk your normal pace and I'll walk mine and before you know it I'll be 30ft behind and it will seem completely natural, I can even call out hey wait for me or something and you can respond with, you hurry up if you don't want to be left behind. We can make a show of it. But if you think your way will work better, I'm no leader of men, we can do it your way.

And yes I'm sure I can handle it, at least for the time it would take you to come back, thank you for asking.

Shadow Lodge

So your going to confront whoever it is?

Male Human (Mwangi - Bekyar) Sorcerer 2 (Air Elemental Bloodline)

We can follow Gavrins' idea, letting him fall behind a bit and seeing what happens, if everyone's cool with that. Sehkola will remain ready with a blast of lightning in case anything happens ...

male Gnome Monk 1

Whispering allright everyone start walking your normal pace and lets see what happens.

Gavrin continues to walk as the party begins to leave him behind and even calls out as discussed, after they yell back their lines he begins to grumble about how he should never have come here with the big folk to keep up appearances while at the same time keeping ready for an attack (although he has no weapons drawn)

::bluff 1d20+0 14::

Shadow Lodge

A little girl appears in front of the 'big people', smiling innocently

"You really should walk slower it's not nice to be so mean. And you don't even know what's on this island, there might be a dragon!" she giggles and and runs over to Gavrin "Don't worry I'll make sure the big ones are nice! My name's Sylvia, what's yours?"

Male Human (Mwangi - Bekyar) Sorcerer 2 (Air Elemental Bloodline)

Not understanding why a little girl would be on this island, Sehkola is quite taken aback by her appearance. While she talks with Gavrin, he casts detect magic on her and the area ...

Shadow Lodge

No magic.

Female Half-orc Rogue 1

Kora raised an eyebrow. "...the hell is a little kid doing out here by herself with all these goblins about? She follow us out of town, ya think?" she whispered to the others.

Female Human Cleric lv1

"Perhaps she lives here?"

:: Detect Evil ::

" Have you seen a little boy or goblins around here? He was supposed to be at home with his mommy this morning and he wasn't... she asked us to go find him for her, we think goblins may have taken him. " Elijah asks the little girl... not quite trusting that this island seems to have little, apparently magical, kids running around.

Sovereign Court

Male Gnome Bard/3

Gavrin Bighit Norbera at your service you charming young lady graciously bows, and may I ask what brings you to these woods?

Shadow Lodge

no evil and no magic

She thinks for a moment "I think the goblins may have said something about a boy they had but I had to get away before they realized I was on their side of the island! My mommy and I live on the east side of the island and the goblins don't want us on their side, no no. I'll call you Gavvy!" Giggling she start to dance around him, she seems to believe he's a child too!

Completely off topic, I would like to announce that I have entered RPG Superstar! Wish me luck.

Male Human (Mwangi - Bekyar) Sorcerer 2 (Air Elemental Bloodline)

Sehkola stays back and lets Gavrin and Lashara deal with the girl; he has no experience with children, and his large height and exotic appearance might frighten a small child.

Good luck, DB3!

good luck db3, hope I don't beat you til the last round!

I don't think I'll last that long, LMAO!

Female Half-orc Rogue 1

Kora remained with Sehkkola. She wasn't any good with children, and being a half-orc in a mostly human town didn't help much. "Crazy girl...", she muttered. "Lucky she hasn't been eaten yet. Who the hell lives so close to goblins anyway?"

Good luck!

" I think it's kind of the other way around Kora, who do goblins live near... they are kind of like rats, you just can't get rid of all of them " Elijah states while looking around again

:: perception d20(2) + it doesn't matter I rolled a 2! = not enough ::

" Could you lead us to your home? Maybe your Mom found the boy we are looking for or could tell us how to find him. " Bean asks the girl in a pleasant manner.

Sovereign Court

Male Gnome Bard/3

sorry for my absense I was in a car wreck, I'm okay I've just got some staples in my head.

Gavrin quiets down and waits for the little girl to do what she is going to do before saying anything else

The girl stops dancing and her eyes widen as she looks at you. "I don't think thats such a good idea... my mommmy doesn't even know about the boy yet. I could show you which way the goblins went, but I'd have to ask my mom first."

She moves toward the forest's edge and seems to be waiting for your ansewr.

Female Human Cleric lv1

"Why wouldn't it be a good idea?"
Perception:15=d20+3 Anything?

Staples? Ouch! Had those in my stomach once. Couldn't have been that minor; but I'm glad you're OK to be back here! Hope you heal up quick!

Are you playing Bean or Elijah?

Shadow Lodge

Lashara percieves nothing out of the ordinary.

Sehkola decides to speak to the girl (after all, she seemed very non-chalante about the goblins). "Does your ... mommy ... know of the goblins? And have you seen the boy? Where was he taken?"

Shadow Lodge

"My mommy knows about the goblins. I know which way the goblins went, but I have to ask my mom if I can show you..
You wouldn't follow me home would you?"

Female Half-orc Rogue 1

This was getting too strange for Kora. "Nah. But if your mother knows about those goblins, what're you still doing out here?"

" Not if it would get you in trouble. We appreciate your help though! Elijah states.

Sorry it's Elijah here, was posting in the CotCT game I'm in before I posted over here. Staples do not belong in a body, I hope you can get them out soon, hope this doesn't create alot more problems for you! Speedy Recovery!

"If we don't bother the goblins they leave us alone. I'll go see if I can show you now. Bye!" And with that she vanishes in to the forest.

Are you going to follow her?

Female Human Cleric lv1

"Do you think she'll be okay all alone?

Lashara wrote:

I don't think she's what she claims to be, but if she'll lead us the boy I saw we leave it be for now. She can be a devil for all I care. Besides if they live on this island with the goblins she must be able to avoid them somehow. I say we wait. If nothing else just stand ready in case its a trick and she's bringing an assault to our door.

" I doubt she is a devil... maybe one of the fey. As long as she isn't hurting anyone I'd say leave her be. " Elijah looks around, making sure no one follows the little girl, he had told her they wouldn't and he meant to make sure that was the way it was.

Male Human (Mwangi - Bekyar) Sorcerer 2 (Air Elemental Bloodline)

"I detected no magic on her; it would be difficult for a fey or devil to look like a little girl without it. As strange as it may seem, either she's an actual little girl or something I've never heard of before."

Are there no spells that can conceal such things? Look I'm not saying I think she "is" a devil, but I doubt she is what she seems. In the end that doesn't change my plans, does it?

"True. And I believe you are correct, there is at least one spell I know of that can conceal the aura. It is an illusion, in fact."

male Gnome Monk 1

You know for tall folk you folks take advice well.

" For what it's worth she didn't trigger my evil sense either. " Elijah shrugs, " As long as she isn't causing evil though I don't see any reason to interfere in her life though. "

male Gnome Monk 1

Well if I'm not wrong the same can be said about that kind of thing too right, I mean I'm no mage but I can't imagine it's been around this long without someone figuring out a way to mask their nature.

the group will just settle down and wait for the girls return if there are no objections we can skip to there unless an encounter happens. In the meantime the group will spend this time getting to know each other better

Shadow Lodge

Slyvia returns an hour and a half later, smiling.

"Mommy says I can show you the way, but you have to promise to get something the goblins took from us."

She awaits your answer.
