Garroth Ur'Than |
Garroth almost loses his cool when he realizes that his solid punches had only minor effects on the rot bag in front of him. Forming a plan, he lunges for the thing's fly token on it's belt, only to see the thing be a lot more nimble than he expected.
CM to grab fly token (1d20+6=8)
Seeker, not sure if both CMB checks were for the same round, but if I can follow through with a bull rush, I will still try and hope the token is burnt out. So only apply the rest of this post if I can continue.
Deciding to take a chance that the magic was gone anyway, Garroth follows through with the bull rush attempt to knock the foul thing overboard, only to fail yet again.
bull rush (1d20+6=14) Good to see IC is back to normal. That rush of 20's and 19's had me worried.[/sarcasm]
Synatria Silven |
Synatria looks around and sees the danger they are in. She sighs, and, putting down her crossbow, begins speaking in an ancient voice.
"Earth and Wind, long have I been your faithful servant. Send me your champion, to aid me in my need!"
Mist begins swirling around before her.

Garroth bullrush the undead thing before him to know effect but takes a wide gash from it's sword in the process7hp Joyelle is unable to fool her opponent but jax slams his hammer into the undead thing taking half it's face, the zombie yells in rage as it slices Jax across the shoulder7 HP Haedric lets off a fiery bolt but fails to hit the undead attacking Garroth.Synatria calls out to the power of the land and calls forth an ally in the shape of a wolf who appears near her on the deck. All the while the last undead loads and starts to turn the shipsbow toward the deck.
New round all, no one moved really but jax
Jax of Cyre |
Smiling through the wound, Jaxon took advantage of the rage fueled wide swing and maneuvered swiftly beneath the zombie's arm. acrobatics 1d20+8=22 He knew that he now had the foul creatures attention and Joyelle would be much more effective if she wasn't the focal point of the attack."Let's go you bastard!" he demanded before bringing the warhammer to bear once more. 1d20+6=19
Haedric Korvin |
Haedric fires another flaming ray at the undead near the controls, but he once again only scorches the deck.
Energy Ray missed again, alright? Unless 11 hits, in which case it did 1 damage.
Garroth Ur'Than |
Joyelle Reynardine |
Joyelle runs across the deck, trying to reach the one at the ballista.
Acrobatics check to jump up:1d20+8=14
It's basically a kip up, right, so that should do it.
If I can I will spend an action point to try to bullrush this guy away from the ballista.

The fight turns as Jax smashes more of his foes face, Garroth rushes the undead thing before him failing to grab the token but throwing the creature from the ship. Jax takes a slice across his back3hp As the wolf fails to trip his attacker. Synatria reloads her crossbow as Joyelle pushes the zombie on the deckbow over the rail.
1 left on deck, 2 over the rail
Joyelle Reynardine |
Joy drops her rapier and picks up the crossbow with the undead bane bolts in it that she had dropped up here earlier. She takes careful aim at the zombie that was still attacking Jax.
1d20+4=20
Still don't know the damage because this is borrowed equipment. I'm guessing a d8? Plus whatever bonus it has againt undead...
Garroth Ur'Than |
If ya go look, which I guess is your move action this round, lest a 5' step the one you tosses seems to be flying close to the bottom of the ship and vanishes underneath it
"Oh, for the love of ... they're going underneath the ship!" Garroth, moving as fast as he possibly can, grabs his silk rope and grappling hook. He'll tie the free end of the rope around his waist, secure the grappling hook on the railing, and hop over the side closest the last place he saw the undead go under the ship. He'll try to rappel down until he gets to the underside, and draw his dagger as he goes.
Not sure how long this'll take, or what rolls I need. Here's a standard Climb check to get things started.
Haedric Korvin |
So, they're all off the deck?
Haedric rushes back to the controls, quickly taking back control. "So, they're under the ship. I'm sure this can outrun them."
So, any complaints against seeing how fast this thing can go? Knowledge(Arcana), to control the ship: 23 Note: Just asking everyone if I should go faster, not to actually go faster yet.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
A few things
Haedric
You have been moving at about 20 MPH, the ship could go faster maybe 35-40 MPH, however without the fly skill, it would be harder for you untrained to control the ship at such speeds
Also 2nd note as I am kind, if your recall 2 of the zombies now lay dead on the ship. They may have the fly token on them,

** spoiler omitted **Also 2nd note as I am kind, if your recall 2 of the zombies now lay dead on the ship. They may have the fly token on them,
Hmmm ... I suppose that would be a little easier, eh? OK, if you'll allow it, forget the rope. Garroth will grab a fly token off of one of the dead on deck and use that to go after the undead under the ship. Appreciate the 'nudge'!
Synatria Silven |
On here turn...
Synatria swears and, dropping the crossbow, draws her dagger. She runs to one of the zombies, nervously searching for a fly token. If she finds one, she clips it to her belt and makes a running leap off the ship. (assuming she still has enough time)

Garroth glides down the side of the ship as Synatria flys from the deck
Under the ship
You see 3 undead hovering beneath the ship. One looks to have been hacking at the belly mounted doors. The other 2 quickly join suit and a grey mist starts to leak from the cracked and splintering door
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
As Garroth floats down the side of the ship Synatria fly's from the deck.
Underneath the ship
You now see 3 undead hovering close to the ships belly doors. I t looks as if one of them has been working to smash open the door and the other 2 have starting hacking at it. Soon a gray mist starts to leak from the cracked and splintering door
Garroth Ur'Than |
"What the hell is that??!!" Garroth exclaims, seeing the mist coming from the ship. As he grips his dagger and lunges at one of the dead, he yells up to the others, "Haedric! You may want to think about landing this thing. They're trying to bring us down, and if they succeed, the closer we already are to the ground, the better!"
Haedric Korvin |
Haedric does not seem to react in any way, but the ship begins to noticeably lower.
Not planning on slowing down, and going to keep going lower until we risk hitting trees. Knowledge(Arcana), to lower the ship: 11, 2 if we're using Flight for this. People, brace for a nosedive...
Jax of Cyre |
From hearing Garroth's shouts from below, and from common sense-he deducts that the undead are trying to get inside the bomb bay and undoubtedly steal the bombs back. Sprinting to Haedric's side he looked frantically over the controls. " If things go quiet underneath their and we don't respond-Pull up." He states as he busies himself with tying a rope about himself. "They're after the bombs, don't let them have it back. If it looks like they're winnin, take this canoe straight to the moon and set off the satchel charges." He ties the rope to the side rail and looks back knowingly."If i don't see you again then you should know it's been an honor serving with you." Leaving them with a wink, Jax materialized his hammer and jumped out in order to swing under the airship.
So this may be a bit of a stretch but in the spirit of bein on a ship and an airship none the less and the spirit of the setting, I was wondering if I could make a big ol swinging strike from the rope here, i'd be willing to spend an action point for it.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
Garroth misses the evassive undead but throws his aim off enough to advoid aa hit. Two of the undead keep smashing the belly door, as the mist leaks out. Jax swings over the side and throws his hammer but his aim is off from the jump. Wait, what? Did you miss my post, or did I miss a round? I was planning on attacking with my dagger.
Synatria Silven |
Very sorry KC, I over looked. I'll recont and allow ya to attack. Just when ya post actions this round roll the attack for last. Again very sorry. I will point out that a zombie has DR vs piercing weapons
I thought it was slashing? Or are we using alternate rules? The reason I didn't attack, by the way, was because I wasn't sure I had enough turn left.
Oh well. Anyways, all's forgiven, I haven't been around that much, it was natural to assume. So do I need to roll Fly checks ever round?Synatria attempts to attack again. 1d20+1=19, 1d3+1=4.
Garroth Ur'Than |
"Won't you things die already?!" Garroth exclaims, growing frustrated at the way the fight has gone. He lunges at the undead with his dagger again, but misses wildly.
Groaning in frustration, he finds a hidden reserve of strength, and lunges a second time (spend an action point for another attack. Unfortunately, he misses yet again. ARRRGGGHHHH!!!

Synatria flies back, and murmurs a spell. Ghostly leaves fly up from below, and they form before her, glowing with magic, to make a shield.

Joyelle pulls her rope and grappling hook out of her pack, ties the rope around her waist and prepares to let herself down to help deal with the zombies under the ship.
"I'm about to go do something stupid, so if you could spare some healing, I'd appreciate it," she said to Triage with a grin.
