Quick Economics Question

General Discussion (Prerelease)

Hey all, I had a random thought ...

Since 0 level spells (cantrips and orisons) have been changed to be cast by pretty much everyone at will, shouldn’t the costs for creating scrolls and potions of said spells be revisited?

I would humbly suggest that 0 level spells be considered one-fifth of a level, not one-half, for the purposes of item creation. So a potion of virtue would be 10 gp, and a scroll of mending would be 5 gp, for example.

It's a little change, but I think it would be a good idea. Thoughts?

Scarab Sages

Despite being unlimited in times per day, with the exception of sorcerers, casters still have to choose which ones they have prepared each day. From that perspective, the 0th level scrolls have the same value per day as before - they take the place of a spell you do not have prepared.
