4E Evil

I was thinking about getting into the 4E with a quick little adventure where a few players make evil characters following 4E guidelines. Players can choose a Drow, Minotaur, Goblin, Kobold, Hobgoblin, Orc, Gnoll, or Bugbear.

I was thinking about setting up a town, and having the group infiltrate and destroy the place for the loot. It might expand from there, who knows. First six to respond are in.

I wouldn't mind jumping in on this one, sounds interesting.

I have never played 4E before, and don't intend to get the books. I don't suppose I could try this out? It would be tough, of course, since I don't have the rulebooks and would need help. Is there a site for 4E like d20srd?

Tieren is in. KC, I can give you required info if you want, to help you build a character. What are you interested in?

I've been hoping to find a 4E pbp. I'm in, if you want.

DM:

Spoiler:
I was actually thinking about a kobold or goblin who got possessed by a Far Realm type critter. It doesn't have to be the Far Realm, of course. Anyways, it tried to take over his body, but being clever and strong-willed for his race he resisted it, and gradually realized that he had to keep it under control, lest something very bad happen. Resisting it has really changed him, so that, while he is still evil, he is slightly kinder than the average kobold/goblin. Meaning that he has the capacity to feel guilt, and pity. If you like this concept, then that's great, if not, then I can change it. What level are we?

At any rate, I'm in.

Scarab Sages

Do you need any more players? I'm in if you need.

Awesome, we have four.

Give me your preference on character. I will need class, also. I like the idea, KC go ahead with it. For level, let's start at one. For the raid, I will provide you a few NPC friends, but it will most likely be constructed like the Pathfinder's Sandpoint Raid: you will have your own skirmishes as fighting occurs around you. From here, let's see what happens. Eventually you may be level 30, and becoming a demigod. :)

KC - Kobold (duh)
Ubermench - ?
Davi - ?
Tieren - ?

DM:

Spoiler:
Great, thanks for letting me have my favorite race. I tink I'll be a sorcerer, but with decent melee abilities if possible. My idea is that the sorcerous powers come from the Far Realm thing, and he can only use them if he temporarily relinquishes control. The whole thing will just be roleplaying, of course.

I'll get to work on my character soon.

Scarab Sages

I'm thinking a Bugbear Archer/Ranged type would be cool. I got the 4.0 books already but I need to know what guidelines you want me to follow.

I'm probably going to go with a Drow Warlock, assuming we would have a reasonably balenced party with him in it. If we need anything other than a leader, I'll be glad to change the character.

Davi and KC, go ahead, I like the ideas. Ubermench, what do you mean "any guidelines" A bugbear archer is fine. I have no house rules. Mainly because I'm as new as you guys to this.

Good. Just one problem. I have put off getting the Monster Manuel for as long as possible, so I don't actually don't know anything about the Drow stats besides the +2 Dex +2 Cha, and vauge ideas about the race abilitys. Any help in that regard would help.

Drow:
Average Height: 5'4" - 6'10"
Average Weight: 130 - 170 lb.

Abiltity: +2 Dex +2 Charisma
Size: Medium
Speed: 6
Vision: Darkvision

Languages: Common, Elven
Skills: +2 Intimidate +2 Stealth
Trance: 4 hours instead of 6 for sleeping
Lolthtouched: Once/encounter use cloud of darkness and darkfire

Cloud of Darkness: Creates dark cloud, blocking line of sight. If within cloud, considered blind, except for caster. Burst 1

Darkfire: Range 10.Int+2 vs. Reflex. Until end of next turn, all attacks vs. target have combat advantage, and target gets no bonus from invis. or conceal.

Okay, great Rumblefish. I need to know the stats for sorcerers and kobolds in 4E. Again, a website like d20srd.org that deals with 4E would be great.

Kobold
Average Height: 3'6" - 4'
Average Weight: 60 - 75 lb.

Ability Scores: +2 Con +2 Dex
Size: Small
Speed: 6
Vision: Normal

Languages: Common, Draconic
Skills: +2 Stealth, +2 Thievery
Trap sense: +2 defense vs. traps
Shifty: may use shifty at will.

Shifty: At will. Move one square.

Which ones of those are trained only? Or do they not have that in 4E? Do I start out with the book? Or do I buy it?

Skills work like this: +1/2 level (for odd levels round up) +ability +5 if trained (*wizard*)

By guidelines I meant House rules and also beginning stats generation, roll 3d6 ,4d6 or 22pt buy.

I got every thing I needed to know from the other posts. Thanks anyway.

I'll work up my Character tonight after I get home and post it to you.

Alright, here's an imcomplete version of my drow warlock. Two questions, though.
1. What system of stat generation are we using?
2. Any decent drow-sounding names you know of? I generally suck at coming up with names.

Where are you getting these stats from? I can't find them or the Bugbear's stats in either the PHB or MM. I have the basic stats like size weight and so on but what are the bonus' to ability scores, skills and the racial special ability for bugbears?

The very end of the MM, page 276

Found'em. Serves me right for not checking the index.

Was sort of toying with ideas and I was wondering about the gnoll info that came out on the D&D site about playing gnolls. it's got feats and such for them specifically, any chance I can use that info?

alright well it's a short pdf that I can email to anyone if they want it, it basically gives race flavor/feats. I'll let you know what I decide to use.

Alright, here are the stats I rolled: STR 8, DEX 13, CON 14, INT 16, WIS 9, CHA 17

I'll have the rest of the sheet up later.

EDIT: Thanks for the link to the random name generator!

Here is a good 4.0 character generator , it isn't perfect, you will manually need to enter the weapon proficiencies bonus' and it dosn't list the powers abillitys, but still better than most.

Here's what I got so far.
Aside from the bonus feat, I get one other right?
EDIT: Nevermind, I think I'm done. Tell me what you think, Fish.

Grahsvein Uzakyn wrote:

Yes you do.

Alright, my character sheet is finally done.

Alright, I draw the line at six.

Davi, KC, and Ubermench have characters.
GM Victory, Dax Thura, and Tieren need to finish.

Alright, making IC and OOC. Look under "4E Evil"

Working on a Gnoll Rogue, should be done shortly

Awesome. I like the gnoll rogue idea. Should be interesting, I do love rogues.

Something this group won't be very balenced. Eh, at least we'll kill stuff fast. :)
