Black Tom:

Spoiler:
Clark doesn't recognize him at all? Does he have anything that might distinguish him when Clark tries to mention him to the others?

Clark:

Spoiler:
No, you don't think you've ever seen him, but he looks like he knows you. There is something weasel-like about him. Not much of a chin, little beady eyes and short, brownish, badly cropped hair. He is dressed in a grey traveller's outfit, carrying a shortsword. He looks furtively about him before sneaking away.

M Dwarf Rogue

If I still may, Sense motive (1d20+6=26).

Clark stands up from the table to get a better look at something across the room.

"Odd. That mousy fellow over there - no, now he's gone - certainly seemed to act like he knew us. And like he didn't want to be anywhere near us. Doesn't look familiar to me, though."

You can read the spoilers addressed to Clark.

"I'm findin' out what that was all about." Thrakhir states as he quickly moves toward the door attempting to follow the conspicuous fellow.

Petra follows

Kirwen rises and follows as well, with an expression of confusion and possibly anger on his face.

Confusion on his face, Clark watches the other rise to pursue the man. Seeing the waitress similarly confused, he tells her, "We should be right back. It seems that there's something outside they want to see."

He hustles out behind the others.

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

At a nearby table A young female halfling sat bored out of her mind. She had arrived at the Inn a few days ago and was now stuck there not wanting to travel by herself whilst there were bandits around. Unfortunately this meant a lot of sitting around with nothing to do.

A commotion at a nearby table drew her attention as she saw a group of what she took to be adventurers all begin rising from the table and begin to head out several of whom seemed to have either angry or confused expressions on there face

Finally some action. She thought to herself as she got up to follow them.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Outside there is no sign of the man, but he might have left some tracks...

Perception or Survival might help.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Just to check , what do we intend to do once we find this guy again ?
Knowing us and not liking us is not a crime and if he tell us to take a hike , what are we going to do ?

Letting you go without me or witnessing you dig yourself deeper onto crime ! Ok , just to warn you , if you attack something without what I call reason , I'll stop you hard ! I think you have been working on the other side of the law too much , it has warped your thinking. Come back now !

Talking is not a crime, is it? And while talking we might get a hunch of what he is up to. But I agree, attacking him without a legitimate cause is not acceptable.

"Listen, Points, the only thing I've ever been locked up fer is public drunkeness. I'm not havin' time to listen to yer threats. We've got people after us, very bad people. I'm just wantin' to find out who's knowin' we're here. So, ya can help or ya can go back inside. Either way werks fer me."

Thrakhir looks to see if he can find a bystander standing outside the inn. If he spies one, he goes up to speak to him/her.

BT, if I find a bystander, I do the following...

Spoiler:

"Hey, my friend just walked outta here. He told me where he was goin' but I had a lovely lass sittin' on my lap and wasn't payin' much attention. Ya see which direction he went?"

Bluff check maybe, BT? Bluff check (1d20+5=11)

Perception (1d20+3=6)

"Not too fond of being spied on myself," Kirwen rumbles, "but the fellow seems to have gotten away anyway."

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Interestingly you notice a few tracks, broken foliage and such, that indicates that he disappeared into the forest rather than following the road. There is nobody to be seen here, though, except the halfling girl that followed you out.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Miss , did you want something ?

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

Felicia blinked taken by surprise not by the comment but from the fact that she had expected to come outside and find a drunken brawl "Well to be entirely honest I was bored, saw all of you heading out the door with angry expressions and was kind of hoping there would be a fight or something to watch to pass the time " The way she says it is as if that sort of behaviour is the most normal thing in the world

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Not the way we work , miss. Fighting for nothing is what adventurers do ...

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

"Well if your not adventurers what are you? Mercenaries? Bandits? Randomly travelling circus trope?"

"Aye lass, a troupe it is. I'm the bearded lady, he's the the strong man," he says pointing to Kirwen, "that there is the boss, he says pointing to Petra, "he's the muscle," he points at Clark, "and that there is the clown," he ends pointing at Juliare. "But it seems were in need of a troublesome little girl who wants to run away with us," he says sarcastically.

Kirwen guffaws loudly.

"Wow really? and here I thought I was joking with the last one." Apparently she hasn't noticed the sarcasm

Oh, that's beautiful. Just beautiful.

Clark smiles at the small woman, gets down on a knee, and greets her almost face-to-face. "I think he likes you. He's usually mean to strangers. I'm Clark. Who might you be?" You are not sure whether he's serious about Thrakhir or not. Maybe he missed the sarcasm, too.

LOL

Petra pick up the head of Gilgar the Gray from her bag and Shows it to the girl.
- Sometimes we do fight. This is our reminder that somethimes it is necessary. His name was Gilgar the Gray and now he is my token.
By the way, do you know anyone who is handy in alchemy?

"I'm Felicia Leadium" The halfling responds with an overly dramatic bow "Travelling entertainer and story teller........Except due to bandit problems I'm not really able to do the travelling bit right now and come to think about it I really don't have any good stories right now either"

Felicia looks upon the severed head her face a cross between wonder and slight revulsion "You keep the severed heads of your enemies In a bag? Thats neat and a tad disturbing. Oh and I cant say I know of any alchemists nearby best bet would be the nearest town Although if its for what I think its for you could ask a taxidermist as well I suppose"

M Dwarf Rogue

Obviously becoming frustrated by all the niceties, Thrakhir snaps, "We're losin' ground the more we sit here and talk. Are we goin' to go after the fella," Thrakhir's voice becomes lilting, "or have a spot o' tea," then gruff, "and wait 'til he's comin' back with friends?"

We're losin' ground, agree so let's go.

Juliare do your thing.

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

"Wait ! two minutes of civil speaking won't hurt any of us . And stop trying to scare the bystanders !
Miss, speaking for myself , I'm not an adventurer but a bounty hunter . I chase criminals and try to bring them back alive if possible . Of course , it they resist , I have sometimes no choice but kill them . And then practically you have the same reward for the head than the whole corpse and it's easier to lug around ...
Now, if I had the time , we could speak of the difference between adventurers and myself but I'm afraid my companions are right . We spotted a man whose behaviour is suspicious and need to follow him . Please excuse us .... "

Survival 9
Obviously , Juliare does not put his entire heart in this .... . 9 groan ...

For BT

Spoiler:
Felicia might be a good reminder for Brock Quick has left and he decides to go see if she is allright

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Juliare is unable to find any tracks, so it's a toss-up which way you want to go. Brock stays inside, sullenly ignoring you, but I assume you'll want to bring the troublesome little girl.

But to where?

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Back to initial plan !

" The plan for today is to move through hexes 605 , 504 and then to explore hexes 404 , 403 and 402 . We'll see where that will put us then :) Survival 25 "

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

"So whatcha all looking for?" Felicia asks a big Innocent smile on her face. "Something that would make a good story I bet."

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Bandits but we are not here for glorifying ourselves .

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6
Juliare wrote:

"Doesn't mean you cant though" Felicia shrugs "Besides its those Bandits that are keeping me stuk here"

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

Assuming you all agree, you revert to your original plan. As you prepare to cross the Oldrock river, you might hear a strange noise.

Perception checks would be in order, and may I have an idea of your marching order?

M Dwarf Rogue

"Speak for yourself, Points, my rep back in Warwik's taken a bit of a beating, and I'd like to see it shined up again," Kirwen says. "You're welcome to tell the story of my thrilling heroics, dollface."

Later...

Perception (1d20+3=14)

Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

Felicia being a bit of a tagger on at the moment is probably bringing up the rear all the while asking random questions to the group such as names, where there from and adventures to date Occasionally she pauses a moment to write some quick note down in a journal.

Are we talking single or double file?

For single, I'd suggest this:
Juliare, Clark, Thrakhir, Petra, Kirwen, Felicia
For double:
Juliare/Clark, Thrakhir/Petra, Kirwen/Felicia

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

Juliare is too occupied with hearing what Felicia is asking to be attentive

I'll chime in and say double file since Juliare is with the group.

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

You make your way through the forest in single file, but as it clears when you near the river, you smoothly change into a double file. At that moment you hear screeching behind you and the air is suddenly filled with flying monkeys. They look a bit like large monkeys with bat wings, bared teeth and murder in their eyes.

They are coming from your rear, and there are eight of them. Roll for initiative.
