Dour Dwarf Ranger – Thorngrim
Thoughts?
This thread really has some legs, and based on the awsome art I can see why!
Hugo do you do comissions? I would love to get a few characters done by you... your "Dwarven" is amazing!

Right now I only do free comissions. I think I'm still far from being able to "charge" for any of it. Also my free time is quite limited and if I get comissions I'm afraid I may not be able to do it good enough.
I hope in the near future I will be able to open proper Commissions (and still do freebies!) but not until I have more practce and I'm get beyond common mistakes like wrong proportions or misplaced eyes.
For now, stay tuned. The next character is a dwarf monk. And be sure that your dwarf will appear on the thread!
Thanks!

Hugo, you're a fine enough artist to be doing commissions. I certainly understand wanting to hold off, though. I'm already behind, and I've only got one paid commission on the list. I may have to hold off on doing the Gray Maidens for my CoCT game, and I really need to get crackin' on Shiny's character.

By the time you're done, you'll be hitting epics, sir. Better polish that +5 vorpal greatpen of inking. You've got some paper to slay.
That may be the nerdiest thing I've ever written. :)

I would love a +3 Balancing Pencil of Corerct proporionts and some Lens of mishapen detection...

You still have a long way to go my friend ;P

You must REALLY be bored, Hugo. Sorry that the regular smart@sses aren't here. I just got in and I'm trying to behave. I'd been meaning to ask one of the many artists hereabouts to do a character for me anyway. Too bad I'm not playing Pathfinder or else I'd have asked by now.

You get a signature item drawing! A sword, a staff, maybe a familiar perhaps (they are not items but I'll do it anyway). Anythin...? Please...?
Hmm. How about this for something different?
Black dress. Full sleeves, floor length. Not strapless nor spaghetti-straps, covers both shoulders. Sleeves flare slightly. Beneath each sleeve are a row of black ribbons that form a shape with the arm reminescent of a raven's wing. In other words, when the arm of the wearer is extended out to the side parallel to the ground, the ribbons form a shape that might resemble the silhouette of a bird's wing (if interpreted a bit). Ribbons are of whatever width you like. You can cut the front as you like, but kindly not too deep (the wearer doesn't have silicone to work with). Otherwise, however you like.

Wow, you sure made it interesintg, I have never made a dress before! The part I'm not sure I understand is the ribbon part. I understand the wing part but not sure if by ribbons you mean gift-box ribbons or just some sort of cloth straps. If you can find a picture of something that looks alike and get me a link, you would be helping me a lot!
Looking foward to draw it!

I'm thinking of it either way. As in, I've considered gift-box widths and cloth straps. I've never actually seen anything like them or heard of anything like them. How about we go with cloth straps? And one other thing: while I did mention the wing shape, let's be a little practical. It's not an actual wing, after all, and shouldn't extend too far down the body when the arm is held out. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but this was something that I dreamed up for my next character.

hey Hugo, You are a really good artist, I am trying to draw again after several years of not doing it and man when you are out of practice, well I suck anyway. So yeah if ya want to draw a piccie of a little girl who loves ponies be my guest
Join the CLub CJester! This thread was started with that purspose. To Practice! Pick a lonely commission and draw it up! We would be more than happy to have you on the train.

Actually, I stand corrected: I once wrote a journal comparing cleaning up dog crap to high-level D&D. That was pretty nerdy. And wierd.
As for me, I've got +1 pens of lucky lines (1/day, reroll any line check). Every line I do is a crap-shoot; it comes from a quick, sketch-art style. I've ruined entire pieces with over-enthusiastic lines.
Realistic human proportions are a b!^*# to draw. That's why I avoid them. :)

Oops, signed in as the roommate. Stupid me. :P
That last post was from lil' ol' me. Benchak was not involved, and if he is ever captured or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of his actions.
This post will self-destruct in five seconds.
Death to Benchak!
...
So what were we talking about?

Well, I believe there is still a half-orc paladin from a few pages back that didn't get a drawing yet, if you want to practice.

kessukoofah wrote:and i woulda asked for a mercury longsword too. oh well. fair's fair i guess.Specific details on the sword pleaseeeee? (2x1 in drawings!)
that's just it. there aren't really any specifications since mercury is a flowing liquid. It's a longsword, and it's got a liquid metal blade. It's become almost a thought excercise (and running joke) at out group. Mercury is not actually a material suitable for crafting a weapon (or anything else), since its melting point is really high, and is liquid at room temperature. roughly the same as if I asked you to draw a Water Sword.
if it's any help, the "official" stats are: as Longsword, except 5% chance of dealing mercury poison on successful hit, 10% chance of dealing bludgeoning damage instead due to shifting nature of the blade, and if sundered the remaining portion reforms into the next smaller blade. (longsword becomes shortsword, shortsword becomes dagger, or something like that). There is suspician that it is a magic weapon, but the only one that had ever been seen survived a Disjunction field, so make of that what you will. This Item was gifted by the God of Magic and More Magic (homebrew Deity) to the wizards who garner his favor in an attempt to irradicate the sorcerers.
yes, i know it's strange, but you asked.
(I always pictured it approximately like this, sort of organic or crystaline hilt, but my brother always claimed a more traditional look.)

Hi everyone! Hugo has convince me to come over here and hang with you all. Normally I just do commissions, but I'm feeling generous. So I'll do a character request for free, if you don't mind a more anime styled character look.
Here's a couple of samples

Hugo Solis wrote:Great work MrShiny! I'm soooooo looking to do some color...Thanks, bro.
Personally, I have an allergy to color. Don't expect me to use anything other than ink or pencils in the forseeable future.
You still do great work with it, though, Mr. Shiny.
Hugo, what's your next project? The dwark monk?

Rumblefish |

Alright, Callous Jack, here's the charcater info (don't worry about a timeframe, quality over speed):
ELDON TINDERTWIG
Size: Small
Height: 3'1''
Weight: 32 lbs
Features: Eldon has long, dark, brown hair, that reaches right above his shoulders. He is skinny, and can be considered 'lanky' for a halfling. He is usually found wearing a traveler's cloak, and carries two scimitars at his side, as well as a crossbow, and backpack.

I've been working of drawing the Holy symbols of the Pathfinder's deities...
My roomate requests the holy symbol of Erastil next, and since without him, my art stagnates in a folder in a box, I humbly oblige. He'll probably hold me hostage until you do. :)
Also, Mr. Shiny, I hear you on the color issue. I have seriously considered afflicting myself with color blindness so as to have a reason not to do color. But then again I'm a melodramatic artistic prissy-pants with dumb hair and a self-inflated sense of importance.
So, you know, don't grow up to be like me, kids!

I've been working of drawing the Holy symbols of the Pathfinder's deities for the Wikipedia on behalf of Yoda. I'm posting it so all who wants to comment on it before coloring it are more than welcome. I'm still missing three... I'll post those in a while.
hey those are really useful! especially for us poor saps who don't want to waste color ink when printing (too much $).

I have a character you could draw, if you would be willing in your kindness and generosity. And that N'Wah guy hasn't even done art for her yet too, (not officially, anyways) so you're getting first crack at her.
RIN FAERWINTH
Human Female Cleric of Shelyn
Age: 17
Description: 5'5", 120ish lbs, long auburn hair, maybe in a ponytail. Might have a touch of elf in her ancestry, but only barely noticeable.
Clothing and Accoutrements: Wearing priestess type robes, but since she's a cleric of sheyln, it should compliment her figure. No armor. Carrying a glaive, of course. Also wears glasses.
Anything else you need, feel free to ask, otherwise, go crazy, see where it takes you. You do good artings, I trust your judgement. And Thank You, by the way. Us non-drawists appreciate any bones that get thrown to us
PS. To those wondering, its actually Benchak this time, not N'Wah being unobservant and posting as me.

Timitius - here's your character: Xak, the Dark Ihn.
That is awesome, Shiny! Thank you very much.
Now, let's see how much XP you get for shading....
