I am so glad he had time to drink a potion of mage armor before you came in, or he'd be toast already:
Gaedren's AC is 15 (15, 14), 11 HP
Gobblegut's AC is 15 (11, 14), 22 HP
For those of you who know Edge of Anarchy: Yes, that potion was a gift to account for almost twice the number of characters. It was either that or an extra alligator, so...

My break in posting this time has not been due to absence but rather confusion.
I looked at the new map, and I didn't understand how anyone in the upper X is doing anything with the current posts in the IC thread. Ergo, I waited until some clarifying post (via setting) was made. That didn't exactly happen. Kat is apparently there, but she has line of sight to Lamm, which I don't really understand as we are supposed to be on two different levels which, I'm assuming, don't allow for much angling between them. Even if they did, exactly where on the map people were is ambiguous to me, so I didn't know my span of action.
It's not my habit to check OoC things unless I feel a need to or am cued; I'm not a sports commentary kind of guy, and I generally don't like going into parking lots unless I see the sign and want to.

I gave each of you the choice for a spot, and since everyone who actually replied chose the lower one, i put the "nonresponsive posters" on the upper on hold, similar to Nayr going back with the kids. I also said that if you were still here, you should feel free to disregard that (didn't I? I sure hope i did...)
If you really want to stay on the upper walkway, I'll throw something your way, but the main action is on the room below the fishery.
Please follow the OOC thread at least on a cursory level, it contains important info regarding the whys and whats in the game. Were you to, say, level up, I'd note this here, for example.
It may be a little clumsy at times, but IMO it outweighs having posts upon posts with no IC info clutter up the narrative ;)

TerraNova, unfortunately I'm going to have to pull out of this.
I'm really busy with work at the moment and unfortunately I'm rapidly losing interest in play by posts. I'm finding it difficult to stay creative over this length of time as my work sucks alot out of me in that regard (teacher). I'm actually going to pull out of all my pbp games and take a break from the boards for a while.
I enjoyed your more freeform style of DMing. It was the secind PbP that offered that style and it was a refreshing break from the battlemat heavy games I usually play. I think you have neough players to tough this one out though. Feel free to do with Gern as you will.
My appologoes to the entire group for this, its extremely unfair on all of you but I really feel I need to do this.
Good luck in the future with all you do.
Cheers

Yes, sad to see you go. :( I've grown to like our gruff dwarf.
Well, anyway... it is to be expected. A PbP is a deceptive thing, both high and low commitment at the same time. I've started with so many players precisely for this reason: To have a little room to shrink before having to go a-recruitin
Thanks for a good time, anyway.

Krek |

I am disappointed you're leaving also; I'm going to be a teacher next year as well, and I hope it doesn't suck the creativity out of me :P
Farewell.
GM TN, you'll notice my post directly previous chronologically to this one in the IC thread has ambiguity as to whom is being attacked. Krek is going for the "real" thing, so his opponent is Lamm. If he need take another movement in the following post there before attacking, so be it.

AH-HA! I have found the OOC Thread. For days now, I have been searching for all of the OOC Threads involving me, and I could not find any. After a couple of lazy days, I finally took the time to find them. (they are missing the little black dot next to them - this should fix that problem).

Meanwhile, the other half of the expedition raced back towards the upper floor as quickly as they dared without risking to "meet Jiggy". What they found was a scene of brutality. It seemed the warnings had been well placed... because the girl they had left tied up was nowhere to be found, but several fresh cuts on the faces of both the still-tied-up boy and the unconscious thug were garish souvenirs of her passing. Kro looked out of the one eye Dala had left him with in sheer panic... the gag in his mouth nearly chewed through.
I'm kind of confused about this post. I didn't realize we had left anybody in the upper floor of the fishery (except Giggles). What girl did we leave tied up? I thought Nayr took all the children back to the harrower's house. And who is Kro the tied up boy? Is he Kat's brother? Is the thug Giggles? Who is Dala? The girl we left tied up?

Rimrock-Zalen had tied up the two kids he had been informed were 'bad seeds', obviously this Dala and Kro. Seems though that either Dala was not tied up well or that she is one slippery little Bi%$h. :P Kat's brother is the unconscious thug who's barely holding onto life as fas as I recall.
Krek-As Rimrock mentioned, all the rest of the kids were taken by Nayr back to Zallera's. So now, only one cut up and scarred (in more ways than one I am sure) boy remains, the other 'bad seed', Kro.
Valkyrie-I would recommend Ayedah question the two remaining members of Lamm's group we still have on hand as to possible whereabouts of her friend. If she learns nothing there, it should still be possible to question the kids at Zellara's....
GM Terra
I'm not quite ready to level Zalen to Sorcerer just yet and as the 2nd level Beta Rogue allows the Weapon Finesse feat that will work out perfect for now. But for Next level when Z's arcane powers do kick in I had envisioned something along the lines of this "Zalen backs off desperatly trying to fend off the savage attack, he knows he is over matched and for the first time ever he is in fear for his life. Suddenly and without warning, a blast of arcane energy (ray, bolt whatever) blasts from his hands into the face of his enemy. If anything, he seems more surprised than the foe he has lit afire(or frozen or zapped etc)" As his mother died when he was so young he has no idea of his arcane heritage and as his father is no longer around to ask he will just have to try and figure it all out on his own. So would it be possible to give me a heads up or just include it in your post when next he is about to level? But really none of this is important, it's just for game flavour so of course I leave it all in your capable hands : )
ALL:
So since we haven't had it yet, seems it's the time for 'Group Treasure Division Discussion' ;-)
I vote we just divide it evenly with magic items going to those who have the most use for them or want them and taking that out of, or making up for, whatever amount of their share that might be. Thoughts?

I was still unclear on what the exact status of the half-orc thug was. If he's there she'll definitely want to secure him.
Katryala's brother and the kids probably haven't been around long enough to have ever seen who Ayedah's looking for(going off Kat's age for this), but I could be wrong. The last known location of her friend was about six or seven years ago. If Kat's brother is revealed to have been with Lamm that long, Ayedah will probably switch gears and make his safety her number one priority for the moment.
Either way, that sight is certainly enough to make her stop in her tracks at least for a while. She never knew about those kids being left behind and tied up, so it's going to be quite a shock.
If it turns out that the other thugs have gotten away, she'll probably head back down to Lamm's area and start rummaging around for clues. She's really desperate right now and not taking anything for granted.
And wow, poor Kat. This isn't going to go well for her if she comes back up before he gets some healing.
Just to see who actually follows this thread: Welcome to level 2. :)
Yay, rage powers!

Giggles (the half-orc thug) is dead, and still stinking up the air on the walkway of the upper floor. He is short one dagger, which Dala used to mutilate the other two children with.
General question: As you can see, i am playing up some of the darker aspects of Edge of Anarchy here. My WoD Time showing, i guess. Is everyone comfortable with this in the game? I can scale back on the "Logue factor" a bit, or i can keep it that way. Pushing it further will probably crash through "board rules", though ;)

I like it this way. Push it as far as you can get away with, if everyone else is OK with it.
By the way, is it just me, or is escape artist quite a bit more valuable now? I mean, Dala had to overcome a whopping 11 to get out of her ropes. With no more use rope to limit that, it was "take 10" for her.
Now that we've play-tested it, the DC of 10 + tier's CMB for Rope/Bindings does seem low. Maybe it should be 15.

Good point, I agree with you both, so who's volunteering to make a comment to paizo? =)
and TM: Thanks, I will try that. But I will wait till next level

I'm okay with what's happened so far. I guess I'd only have a problem if it was constant to the point that the only thing the PCs could feel while staying in-character is despair.

I have no problem whatsoever with the 'darkness' of the game so far. It seems perfectly appropriate to the storyline so far. Like Val I don't think Zalen would be a very happy camper if he was 'living in despair' his whole life but I don't see that happening at all.
As Zalen might put it while in his cups reminiscing on the 'Life' sometime...
"Hey, life is hard sometimes and an adventurers life is not always a happy one. But you soldier on, finding the joy and happiness when you can, trying all the while to make it a better world. If the world was always a happy place than there wouldn't be much need for us then, would there?"

Valkyrie Paine |

Hey! Good luck down there and wish you all the best!
Thanks, it wasn't so bad for us inlanders though. We just got the leftovers, mainly really strong wind storms. We had power outages and minor property damage, but no one was hurt.
I really wanted to wait until after Kat had her reunion before grilling her brother, but I'm afraid of stalling much more.

Hmm, anyone else having problems posting to the IC thread? my latest update seems to be "stuck"
I've had trouble like that a couple of times. It got to the point that I write all my posts in Notepad and just copy-paste to make sure they go through. I haven't had that happen to me since I stopped keeping the post-submission page up for so long while I'm typing, but I could be completely wrong about what's causing the issue.
I'm not sure whether or not Ayedah's had the chance to learn what a "pimp" is during the time she's been in Korvosa. I'm assuming not for now, just to keep her on track with everyone else. She'd probably go off on a rage again if she did know. ;) Right now the way Zalen mentioned it has put her a bit at ease.
Are we staying upstairs or downstairs while we wait?

GM TerraNova |

Krek: If you had asked IC, i could directly apply my "continuity mending touch", which skillfully (hah! Yeah, right...) fixes such oopses. Know therefore that OOC i came up with an explanation for the strange association. :)
I usually can post directly from the compose page, if i hit preview every few minutes. Doesn't always work, but works well enough that "CRTL-A; CRTL-C" before hitting preview is enough precaution.
I purposefully left the "meeting back" a little vague, since i did not want to go into full-fledged railroad mode, but one of the corpse-free rooms which stinks a little less (the office, for example) might be a good idea.
Additionally, please note that you found the note behind a bookshelf, there is no telling when it was delivered here. So you need not worry too much on that front.

GM: Zalen will ask Jillian to help him search for traps on the chest and then ask Alandra to give him the key or open it herself if she prefers(if you want us to roll this IC please let me know)
Assuming there's more loot, will you be able to give us a total share of each of us once it's divided por favor?
Also to All: Anyone gonna detect magic on all the stuff?
