is that right, does that mean subscriber will have to pay for both issues next month?

Looks that way to me but I could be mistaken..

Liberty's Edge

Yes. I believe they're coming out simultaneously, in fact.

~cries as my wallet starts to abuse me~ The horrors! The HORRORS!!!

Sovereign Court

See that's actually kinda aweful, I had to cancel my subscription because I didn't have the money next month, now I learn that I'm missing out on not one, but two issues, and the bonus item for being at the beginning of start of darkness.

If you have the "hold for single shipping" option, you actually SAVE money by having them come out at the same time... unless Paizo ships them separately just to spite you.

Sovereign Court

That's cool for people who, you know, can afford two issues in a month and all... for those of us who have trouble with having extra money in a month and who still try to keep up with a 20$ subscription though, it's kinda a kick in the crotch.

I mean I'm not mad or anything, but I'm dissapointed because I really wanted to have my subscription for the start of darkness, which if it had followed the one a month, I would have. But now I'm most likely going to miss it.

I totally put this in the wrong forum though, I meant to put it in the pathfinder general forum, but got this one accidentally, I don't know if it can be moved.

Aha! Gotcha... yeah, that sucks a lot. Still, not to cost Paizo a customer or anything, but I personally would have long since cancelled all my subscriptions, in your position. Free entertainment is one of the first things I adhered to, when my budget had to be cut to within $20/month (which wasn't all that long ago, come to think of it).

Scarab Sages

I don't see much difference between getting two in August and getting one mid-june and the next at the start of july. April was a busy month too, while none came out in May. Sometimes we get 2 shipping in 2 weeks, then we wait for 1 month and a half before the next. Over the complete year, that would still be 12 PF, even if some months look bigger than others.

Long story short, Paizo is trying to catch up with their schedule for a year now, and if they finaly make it, I say it's a wonderful thing.

For the budget thing, my september 07's 20$ budget is still running up...

Sovereign Court

Yeah, but not everyone started their subscriptions at the same time nor do they have a leftover budget from the fact that paizo missed a month 7 months ago. I understand what you're saying, and I would like to say I agree, but the fact is that if you join after that magical missed pathfinder, you actually aren't behind and gosh forbid someone wasn't paying attention and budgeted in 20$ for their pathfinder, but didn't notice that two were coming out that month. then it's not just 20$ but can wind up being 155$ overdrawn in your account because of the banks service fees.

EDIT: this hasn't happened to me with Paizo, but it has happened to me before when dealing with a similar situation. And like I said I'm not mad but these are things that should be taken into consideration.

You would think so, but it's actually harder than it sounds. My fun money can often drift into the "diaper fund" when not spent and it's hard to explain to Mrs. Fletch that Junior doesn't get diapers 'cause I'm waiting for the Pathfinder boat to arrive from Asia.

LKL, if you restart your subscription in mid-August, it will give you the option to start with the most recent issue (PF13) or the next issue (PF14). You can negate the fact that the two issues are being released the same date this way, as it won't give you the option to start with the previous two issues. If you don't want PF12, which it doesn't sound like you do, then you should be fine. They only got behind because there was no March release, but rather two April releases. They could continue with the 1/month rate, but that would mean that the GenCon launch of PF13 would have to wait 'til September.

Okay thats cool but your wrong, I actually wanted both, my problem is I'm not going to be able to buy any at all in august unless my luck changes and this means instead of missing out on one issue when I re-subcribe in september, I've missed two.

Right now I'm just really hoping that I can resubscribe in mid-august.

We certainly understand that the large number of products coming out in August will be more than some people can take, and we are sympathetic about the impact. Part of the glut is from finally getting Pathfinder truly on a monthly schedule for the first time since the very first issue, which will ultimately result in more timely and predictable releases in the future.

Erik, is there any chance we can get an option to push the PF #13 and the Second Darkness companion back to September? September is currently looking a little lighter and, for those of us with limited means, it would make a huge difference to defer a bit of the cost.

EDIT: By "push back" I mean "move them to our September shipment." Obviously, the people who can afford the hit shouldn't be made to wait on our account. Basically just an "extended hold" to ship out with the September bundle instead of the already-massive August bundle.

Shoot, while we're at it, can there be a quarterly shipping option, and just bill and ship once every 3 months? I'd save a fortune on shipping that way...

Perhaps you can switch the shipping options for the subscriptions around. Pathfinder Books together, and the Chronicles books with the next Pathfinder Module (LB 2 will come a bit later perhaps even September).

Edit: Nah, won't work...

Can we get a rough time frame, like early, middle or late August?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I get your situation now. Maybe one of the Paizo CS geniuses can figure a way for you to finagle it so that it all works out for you? Best of luck.

I so hope that Pathfinder is finally back on a truly monthly schedule to stay. With the recent increase in shipping (beyond Paizo's control I know), and Paizo's decision to not go with 4th ed (again, beyond their control, but I'm going with 4th), the irregular release of Pathfinder was very close to tipping me over the edge to canceling my subscription.

But if it is truly back on a monthly schedule, then that is a cause for much rejoicing.

It's now on schedule. I want to let it settle for a month or two before breaking out the champagne, but the hardest challenge has been bested.

That's great news Mr. Mona I'm glad that you guys got everything sorted out, cause I'm becoming a huge fan of Paizo and stuff like an irregular schedule makes it hard to keep up a subscription.

I second this, I think that you guys should have an option for second darkness to start all the way through september, that way people have more time to get in on the goodness that is a new adventure path.

Jeeze dude do you give Paizo like $500 dollars a month, I wish I had that many subscription tags

Not anywhere near that. I have the superscriber tag, and that means I have subscriptions to Pathfinder AP, Pathfinder Chronicles, Pathfinder Companion, and the Pathfinder Modules lines. Companion is starting up with 2nd Darkness, but in typical months my subscriptions never even reach $100 and up til now it has only broken $50 in a month once. Anyway, I only share that to point out that subscribing to virtually everything they have a subscription for is less than the cost of my cable television and I enjoy the products about 1,000 times as much. I am a graduate student with a wife and 3 kids to support, and I still found it relatively easy to create a budget that let me subscribe to all the things I do with just a little planning. August is going to be tough, and for me it is going to come down to exactly when the products are ready to ship. If it is on or after August 8th I am golden. If it is sooner than that I am going to have to get creative.

The only product Paizo has a subscription for that I don't get is Planet Stories and the cost is amazingly low. That is what makes Paizo the best company in the industry. It isn't just the price, it is the incredible quality of the products for the price. I think once your situation settles down a bit you will find that a "super" subscription is very affordable.

Unless, like me, you also have a serious Netflix habit to support. "More movies! Must... access... queue...!"

If nothing else, I really appreciate the warning of this thread. I hadn't paid enough attention to realize that two issues were coming out in August. Since I'd been planning on restarting my subscription August 1st to catch PF#11 (I've sadly missed the PF#10 window), I'd have been unknowingly commiting myself to three books that month. Paizo's already got ONE "insufficient funds" notice from my bank...

It looks like my best hope is to start fresh with PF#13 and then catching up with the last half of Crimson Throne when the opportunity presents itself. Since I still haven't had the opportunity to go back and buy PF#6, that may be a bit. (Some day I'm going to get really frustrated over not knowing how any Path ends!)

I've never exagerated once in my life ever in the slightest bit has a figure ever been uttered that wasn't calculated and triple checked.

Yeah but I'd be in deep trouble on those two months of yours that hit $80 plus
