Can we get an ignore feature

Website Feedback

I hate to be asking this, but can we get an ignore feature? I’d like to have a constructive discussion in the 4e forums but lately they’ve all gotten derailed and sidetracked by an extreme minority of posters who are so vocal and argumentative that it’s been tough to filter them out. I want to continue coming to Paizo.com where I get good ideas for games (and then buy products from the Paizo store), but these past few weeks have been exceedingly unpleasant to do so.

There will be no ignore button. That's essentially inviting people to participate in discussions while encouraging them to only listen part of the time. Conversations in forums that do allow "ignore" buttons often become redundant and confusing, because not everyone is working with the same data.

Here is the original thread, Vic's Post is near the bottom of page two.

I figured it was worth bringing it up again.

Maybe this isn't the messageboard for me.

If there's a particularly problematic poster that is constantly making attacks and twisting words (other than me, of course), you can always shoot an email to Gary/Josh/Cosmo/Vic. There are some new posters lately that are something of a blight on the community...

I agree, Sebastian. Maybe we should make a list of posters/grievances to present to Gary or Vic instead of flooding them with e-mails.

Of course, you wouldn't have to sign it, because your name would be first! ;)

Can I be second? Do not make me thread-stalk you.

But I was going to thread-stalk you! How would that work?

We would become like Yin and Yang, always circling...or kinda like when I try to get my own tail.

Has anyone reconsidered this? It would bring some peace I think.

Have installed already, thanks Papa-DRB!

And so to harp on the issue: having now used the script, this really looks like a feature that might bring some peace to these boards. I wonder why Paizo has not called for it.

Any feature that would make Paizo forums resemble The Gaming Den gives me shivers.

Never been there. But if it's that bad, and I'll take your word as gospel, I hardly think it's caused by a simple messageboard feature.

And being as I'm using a scripted ignore right now and everything is great... I don't get your detraction. Also I don't get the point of even posting it.

Hey another_mage, remember how you made that greasemonkey script that links to d20pfsrd, and then you made it a chrome extension?

Can you do the same thing, but for the ignore thing?

I'll promise you anything you want, including candy.

Anything I want? Hmmm, let me make some calls and get back to you...

I did answer the Chrome question in another thread. I'm certain it's possible; I just haven't had time to research an answer. I'm hoping to allocate some over the long July 4th weekend.

Now I'm confused... another_mage already made the ignore script. See here.
