Online Slot 0s for Gen Con Judges

Grand Lodge 5/5

I've run slot 0s online for a couple cons now and I'm willing to organize tables for PFS judges at GenCon. I've used several different methods but I've found the best for me is a program called MapTool (rptools.net) and either Skype or Ventriolio (trust me, voice = better). If you're interested, post here and/or contact me off board at dagent145 -at- gmail -dot- com. If there's enough interest I'll take the extra step of creating a yahoo group.

Heya Mike. I would be interested in this, mainly as a fallback if I cant get any "live" slot-o's going in the Tampa Florida area. Maptool is great. I use skype for my online games so I am all set as far as software goes.

Ok..i have now seen a few posts now.. mentioning Slot 0....

WHat the hell is a Slot 0?

Dark Archive

A slot zero is a game run before a convention or game day for GMs. This allows them to play the adventure before running it and helps them better prepare.

I'm also volunteering to run slot zeroes for GenCon judges, or face-to-face in Eugene, Oregon (or within about a 3 hour drive).

I'm not eligible to play any scenarios, as I'm not attending GenCon, so consider me only for judging, please.

Whoops. Per another thread, unless online zeroes are approved, that'll have to be face-to-face for the zeroes. Still very willing to judge and travel - possibly further than 3 hours, given the conditions.

What thread was it where they put the kibosh on online slot-0's?

I've not seen anything like that either, but it would be nice if we could get a formal thumbs up/down on online zeroing from Josh and/or Nick. *Bats eyelashes and offers up Dew and Cookies*

Well, here's the thing.

We won't have a policy for online PFS until September. (Way too busy launching PFS right now, but will get to it.)

Running a slot 0 online ... well, that gets into a gray area. On the one hand, I want our GMs to be able to play and to be able to Slot 0 their scenarios, but on the other hand we haven't spent a single minute working out the issues online PFS play could entail.

I'll have to mull this over.

Understandable, and its an argument I can see both sides of trust me.
