*Ahem* :)

Back on topic, I enjoyed the Geist chat. I've never been a WoD fan (with the exception of Monte Cook's), but this sounds pretty spiffy. I'll have to check it out, especially to see all the cool parts you didn't talk about.

Thanks, Taig! This game has me pretty geared up too.

Not being able to talk about this from here, that from there, and the other thing from over there was tough, but the dude abides. ;)

Can someone please remind me- when will R+E's Gencon podcasts available for listening, and how many will there be?

Well, what do you know, Atomic Array's first(?) Gencon podcast is now up! Weird how no-one posted about it here yet...

Gen Con started with a bomb this year, as Paizo Publishing released the long-awaited Pathfinder RPG Core Rulebook. We spoke with a bunch of people, from Paizo employees to people picking up the game at the booth. You can also check some of the video we captured by visiting the Paizo home page, or finding us on Facebook.

A number of third-party publishers are releasing Pathfinder-compatible products this fall. We spoke with 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming about their first release, Book of Arcane Magic.
Brandon Hodges is serving as our ‘beat reporter’, adding more voices to the Atomic Choir by speaking with gamers in the hall and on the street.
Lastly, but not leastly (is that a word?), we spoke with Mongoose Publishing’s Matthew Sprange about Traveller. Ed’s all happy about their Hammer’s Slammers adaptation…

Oh, I didn't realize they released the Pathfinder episode already. Thanks! Now that the two newest episodes have been acknowledged, we now return to your regularly scheduled posters.

Thank you so much for the help, guys. I wasn't able on get on the Paizo messageboards (too many people downloading the new Corebook PDF?) and I really appreciate it.

Hope you enjoy the latest Pathfinder episode. :)

We offer some solid previews of the coming adventure path, Council of Thieves.

Can't wait to listen to all the Atomic Array goodness. I'm going to be taking the long way into work this week. :)

Speaking of which, Gencon Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4.

Day 2: They talk with Mongoose about the new Paranoia products, chat with Terra/Sol Productions about their new Traveler setting, and some more about Pathfinder.

Day 3: They talk about the game they played earlier in a Mongoose-published setting for 4e, and chat about Planet Stories with the almighty Mona.

Day 4: They talk to Lisa Stevens about Pathfinder's reception at the con, talk about the card-stock terrain from Fat Dragon Games, and return to Mongoose to find out some more about Traveler.

Great episode! I'm looking forward to the hernia that is the PFRPG Core book. And I won the contest for Geist! Which is, in a word, awesome. I am a huge Orpheus fan, having purchased the set when it came out and lovingly addicted several others to it. Geist seems like a very worthy successor to the idea and I am absolute looking forward to reading it! Thanks!

Thanks, taig! Please let us know what you like or dislike about these shows.

RPG author Brandon Hodge contributed gamer-on-the-floor interview segments to each show, and they were funny and entertaining. Methinks the man has the appropriate chops to well deserve his own show.

RE: Rone's Rant: Bad Samaritans

OK, I have tried to help people time and time again. I really do try. For some reason, though, people think I'm scary. I swear, one time, I stopped to help a car that was stopped on the side of the road, and they got back in and drove away.

I mean, come on, I'm a responsible guy. I have my friggin' Eagle Scout award TATTOOED onto my chest. I will not f%&@ you over, I will not take your shit, and I will not kill you (that is, if you're not on my list).

It's good to see that at least two other people out there have had the same type of experiences.

Oh, I hear you loud and clear, Space Ranger.

I think some people just aren't used to receiving help from strangers, and when it comes from a non sanctioned source, they assume the very worst. Sure, there are some real creeps/monsters out there that will run a confidence scam of some sort - pretending to assist you in order to take your money or worse - but you'd think a sincere offer to help would be read as sincere more often than it usually is. Watching people sphincter-lock at the sight of you at your most civic minded just feels so damn counter intuitive to what you thought was going to happen. This overpowering fear we've been taught or learned feels like a betrayal of the society good.

My friend said that in some states you can do 10 years for giving CPR without a medical license if the person dies and their family decides to get litigous. I hope that sentence has never actually been rendered. It's hard enough to get some people to hold a door for you...

Yeah, I had heard that as well. That was actually one of the main reasons I got my Red Cross certifications in CPR and first aid.

I'm halfway through the GenCon podcasts. My poor, easily distracted brain was having trouble processing the interviews and the incidental discussions at the same time. I need to find another brain so it can deal with superfluous stuff.

Who came up with Jason's theme? That was very funny.

Isn't that covered under most states' Good Samaritan laws?

Sorry for the over here over thereness, taig. The interviews are more clearly delineated in the later episodes, but early on we wanted to capture the con's buzzing conversation and festive feel.

We covered Paizo every day, along with Book of Arcane Magic, which was written with PFRPG compatibility.

I composed and recorded the Bulmahn theme. I'm glad you liked it. :) I write and perform all of the thematic compositions on our show.

Enter that contest, folks, and maybe win yourself one of two staff-signed copies of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook!

I've got the last two GenCon podcasts to listen to yet, and I liked the 2nd podcast. I need to finish the other ones before the slew of podcasts this week.

Most states, yes. However, as far as I know, in New York, one must be certified to be protected. I'm probably wrong, though.

I sincerely swear this is how a certain conversation went down:

Rone: "Almost done with the mix. Episode 29 is going to be another long one."
Ed: "So? The last Pathinfinder episode was long too."
Rone: "Yeah, but I try to keep them under 72 minutes so Craig can fit them on a CD. He likes to listen on the way to work sometimes."
Ed: "Mm."

And yes, I fully admit it. I dig Paizo like an archaeologist on meth with an electric shovel.

Oh, I didn't take it in a bad way, taig, but a heartfelt thanks for your thoughtful reply. We tried something new in the show format for the early Gen Con specials and I wondered if it might not be everyone's cup of tea, so I just wanted to explain, for better or worse, what we were shooting for. I listened yesterday and the first episode did sound a little like being lost (but conversational) in the con's madding crowd. ;)

Good luck with your contest, one and all!

As a matter of fact, the CD holder with all of you guys Podcasts (AA, OD & Sinister and a couple of RPG Countdowns) on them live under the seat in the car. I actually don't think they've been in the house in 6 months...
