Ellirayne D'Lyrandar |
"Considering the day we've had thus far I'd scarcely call that turn of events odd? Have you tested the mark it gave you yet? We have a theory that the magic may be druidic in source but that is of course just a...
...Cassio was it? You'd do well to mind what you say, you may be linked to my mind but you're also in my brother's"
[A small sigh] "Yes Lyrandar, and who are you?"
Irirangi Biasharan |
"Cassio - I love you, but do you think you could just stay out of this for a second?
I'm sorry - I'm sure I heard someone else? Not a Lyrander? Aphra - keep quiet, I will introduce myself - it's polite. Irirangi Biasharan. Also not on Lyrander Tower. Actually, I'm not too sure where I am. And if any of you say even one word there will be trouble. I need to know what's going on here."
Starlan "Wingy" Benex |
Oh, Blast it all to Xoriat!
Err... call me Wingy.
I've been trying to get a clear picture of what's going on myself,
but besides that I'm apparently in psychic communication with two scions of House Lyrandar, along with this other argumentative lot who seem to be monopolizing the channel with their banter, I haven't figured out much.
The two Lyrandar scions claim to be on Lyrandar Tower somewhere... This whole psychic business seems to be mixed up with these golden rings that have been falling from the sky, and I haven't yet heard these Lyrandar scions say that they AREN'T behind it all. I certainly felt a magic pulse from the ring myself. Did you also find a ring?
Starlan "Wingy" Benex |
Please excuse me if I've gotten confused in all this,
I have the SLIGHTEST of a handle on YOUR identity, and so many others keep popping in
with strong opinions on something or other that they seem intent on sharing.
...But what is this mark you speak of?
And could you explain how these telepathic rings relate to House Lyrandar?
How long have you been in possession of the telepathic ring yourself?
They seem likely to lead to madness if worn in the long-term, I do say.
Ellirayne D'Lyrandar |
[Sigh] "The rings fell, two of the people they came rolling to were members of House Lyrandar, that is how these rings relate to our House. As for the mark situation, when you put the ring on did you feel the energies tingle before focusing at one point on your body?"
"The marks we were granted look and work much like the dragonmarks and have granted us abilities that are quite druidic in nature and I wanted to know if you'd experienced the same."
Irirangi Biasharan |
"My mark is on my hand. I don't know anything about Druidic magic at first hand, though of course I've studied it a little. The Silver Flame library was fairly informative.
Dahl?
Why is he never there when I need him? You have to excuse Dahl, he's good at cryptic, it's really annoying."
Starlan "Wingy" Benex |
Well, there certainly was a surge of magic after putting it on...
...Hey! I think I see what you mean, there's this mark on part of my back, though I can't really check it out that clearly, not in front of a mirror.
...But anyhow, you've found that if you touch this mark you have, like the Dragonmarked do, there is some other magical effect activated? And you think it's Druidic? Why do you say that?
I'm feeling mine... There's definetely a buzz of magic when I feel the mark, similar to when I first put it on...
Irirangi Biasharan |
"I'm definitely feeling power from the mark. It reminds me of when my powers started to develop, but more as if it's working its way in, instead of working its way out. But my powers aren't druidic and this feels familier, much more of an arcane tingle.
Aphra, Cassio, can you guys argue someplace else please? This is confusing enough. I don't have time for a fight right now."
Ellirayne D'Lyrandar |
"Your mark feels more arcane Irirangi? Could you perhaps try activating it for me? All you need do is touch it with the intent to use the power contained within. My mark and my brothers offer us gifts associated with druids and I was wondering if the rings offered powers along a certain, theme, as it were"
Starlan "Wingy" Benex |
Dahn:
Hearing such interesting information thru this ring,
I'd like investigate these other powers the others mention.
I felt the power coalesce on my shoulder, which seems to be the location of a mark.
I presumed for the sake of flow in the telepathic chat
Ellirayne suggested that touching it could activate some other power, which she felt was somehow Druidic. I'll see what effects I can discover, and share them with the others telepathically.
"All you need do is touch it with the intent to use the power contained within."

Dahn:
Well, I guess I'll be shooting around and jumping all over the place.
Can I end the effect early and continue it later? Just wondering.
Whoa. Woo-hoo. Woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-ayeeh!!! (etc, etc...)
OK, This thing DEFINETELY works...
I think I'm running around here faster than a Sprinter 'Saur hopped up on Tuik berries.
Well, I would say the theme of the day so far is totally unexpected dropping out of the sky.
It sounded like some of you have been experimenting with these rings for a bit longer than I...
Did you also look at them with an eye to discern their magic?
I CAN say... that I don't think these have anything to do with Druidic magic.
Ellirayne D'Lyrandar |
"Yes, we observed the rings and their effects through eyes tuned to the movements of magic. It is a shame to hear the spell you were granted is not druidic though, it disproves that theory I suppose. Perhaps it's some sort of granting of something you desire, have you ever wished to be faster Wingy?"
DM dahn |
You can end the spell effects early, just as if it was a spell you had cast. However, it does not readily activate again. In effect, it's a 1/day little spell. However, I will grant the use of an action point, or sacrificing a daily use of your normal dragonmark, to power it again in the same day.
You all notice by now, that the ring is no longer on your finger.
Sim |
Greetings to the newest mind to link with our eclectic band. Who might you be? And have you tested your new mark yet?"
"Sillas. And if I may inquire, what is yours? Although I haven't tried activating my mark, I shall do so. Are the two Lyrander scions whichever ones they might be already marked? If so, can you still use the Mark of Storms?"
Sim |
"I'm Ellirayne d'Lyrandar, and as yet I haven't had chance to check my dragonmark. Most of the gifts given by the Mark of Storms are a little tricky to test indoors without causing a scene."
"An honor to 'meet' you, Heir Lyrander. Perhaps you should test your old dragonmark at some point; it would be interesting to see if the mark granted by the ring supercedes the one granted by your heritage."
Ellirayne D'Lyrandar |
"It's a pleasure to 'meet' you also Sillas, and thankyou for your advice. I'll endeavour to test my mark as soon as an opportunity presents itself. As things stand I'm sure the House would be a little disapproving if I were to fill my current location with a cloud of fog!"
Sim |
"Sillas - what does your mark do?
"It would seem that it creates an arcane barrier, similair to the Shield spell. Should be useful. Does anyone know what's going on? Each of us finding an identical ring on the same day-a ring that simply fell from the sky- is a bit more 'coincidence' than I can believe."
