Is there an explanation for why Combat feaats are going away? Was the mechanic that difficult to use/
Our playtest found very little confusing about them, though some should have probably stacked within a feat chain. The limitation of one per round made the Fighter (and martial type) PCs choose tactically whcih feat to use, but it eliminated confusion on how much could be done in one round.
Just my opinion.

I am happy to see them go. The problem I encountered with was in backward compatibility. With the many splat books and the Hundreds? of feats out there Combat Feats made way too many of the existing feats unusable or would have required that they be rewriten and/or reclassified. Also the build and tactics of most mid to high hit die monsters and NPCS would have had to be completely redone.

My question was "What made a feat a Combat feat?". Is someone going to seriously tell me that Power Attack is not a Combat feat? I would ask why? Yeah...fighters get the shaft at higher levels and you're going to shaft them even more by taking away the ONE ability their class grants them by limiting how many they can use at once? I didn't think that was in the fighter's best interests.

Hadn't thought about the backwards compatibility issues. Makes sense put that way. I did like the revamped versions of some of the Combat feats, such as Cleave and Dodge.
Cleave was, before combat feats, already too hard to get great use of, little alone great cleave. And didn't need to be a combat feat. However their take on cleave does do a good job of making the feat more useful, minus the combat feat type rules.
Edit: I was just wondering, where is this listing, I am looking around and I don't see it.
