Looking for 5-6 player to start the current AP! I got one space reserved and he'd like to play a rogue. I'm going to keep this simple to start off:
1st level
28 pt buy in
NO Evil
Max Gold
Max Hit Points
I use Invisible Castle for all rolling
You get one bonus feat from the CotCT players guide
Your background is important to start off this AP and you want to make sure you read the CotCT players guide to tie in your character. All the background traits are in the guide starting on page 14.
It is also helpful if you have the Guide to Korvosa. Since your character lives in the city it will provide more info to use in your background.
I have most of the books available to me so go ahead and use whatever to build your character just make sure you reference your choices so I can look them up easily and give a yea or nay to whatever.
I am not going to ask that you post everyday because I know how busy most folks are but all that I ask is to keep up with the game when you are needed to post and let me know if I need to npc your character for a bit because you are busy with life!
I will be using the 3.5 rules, I have not had a chance to read the new pathfinder alpha rules yet.
So post here if you are interested!
Thanks
Zoo

I'd love to get in on a CotCT game. I'll have to review my options to see what kind of character I want to make. I've tried a number of 3.5 options but there are still a few that I want to try out. Is the Korvosa book open? I've not read it, but mostly because I've been wanting to get into a game and am not sure if it contains too many spoilers.

Don't know if you've created an OOC thread yet, so here is my character background. It looks like the only bonus feat I qualify for (And most others for that matter) is Harrowed so I'll take that feat.
The Story of Thelix Moody
The memories of the time before that slimy, rat-bastard Gaedren Lamm fooled him, are vague and forgettable. Mostly memories of sleepless nights huddled around warm sewer grates, and terrifying dashes down garbage-strewn allies after swiping the odd worm eaten apple or moldy bread crust. Thelix was a child of the streets and as such was only too eager to listen and believe Gaedren’s lackeys lies about warm beds, fresh bread, and a place to call home. Little did he know that he would have been better off to stay on the streets. It was a miserable time. Many of the other kids got sick, and went away. Some just never woke up; the hunger didn’t go away, he slept on a hard cold floor, and to top if off, he now had to work from dawn to well into the evening.
One day Thelix and a couple of the other “big” kids were sent to pick up some supplies escorted by one of Lamm’s goons. A perfectly timed vat of wash water was spilled directly from a 4th floor window onto the unsuspecting goon. In a rage he ran up the stair, forgetting for a moment his charges. Seeing his opportunity Thelix took off. He ran all day and hid out by night in an abandoned warehouse. The sackcloth he took as his bed was not comfortable, but at least he was free. The morning sun came through a hole in the eaves of the building, where a board was missing, and glinted on something partially exposed in some sawdust in the corner. Thelix went to pick it up and found is was a strange silver painted wooden symbol of a mountain pierced by a big sword. As he picked the symbol up he felt a strange tingling sensation. As he pulled the implement towards him he noticed it was attached to a long leather tether. The tether was hung on something, and as Thelix dug in he uncovered a gigantic Sword taller than he was. This was worth something. Maybe he could sell it and have enough money to travel away from Korvosa, and forever away from Gaedren Lamm.
A couple of days later Thelix had made his way to the midlands. He asked around and took his “roll of carpet” to a swordsmith recommended by the citizen he had asked. The rough looking Dwarven Smith Brindel Moody took one look at the sword, and immediately ran to the front of his shop locking the door, and pulling down his shade.
“Where did you get this boy?” he shouted grabbing Thelix firmly by the collar. Thelix fearing for his life related his story to the Dwarf. The dwarf feeling a spark of potential within the young human decided then and there to take him under his wing. They spent the next seven years growing closer to each other, and finally Brindel adopted the boy officially. He taught him not only the profession of weapon smithing, but also the ways of his god Gorum. Though not commonly worshiped in Korvosa, Brindel led a small cult of worshippers, of the Iron God, mostly consisting of Dwarves now living in Korvosa. These meeting where the hearty dwarves worshiped their violent god were Thelix’s favorite times. He felt a connection to The Lord in Iron, as in some way, he felt he was responsible for his fortunate turn of events.
When Thelix was about eleven years old (He is not sure of his real age) Brindel was fortunate enough to win a contract supplying, and repairing blades for the infamous Hellknights. This meant that they were now able to live comfortably, and get a bigger house. In addition they hired a live in housekeeper to clean and cook meals by the name of Gyndora. She brought books with her when she moved in, and taught young Thelix to read and write. He especially liked the histories, and legends of old Korvosa. She also brought her old mother Pylexia with her. This strange lady mumbled to herself a lot, but knew a lot about herbs and poultices, so she proved her worth. In addition she owned an ancient deck of Harrow cards, which she used to tell Thelix’s fortunes on more than one occasion.
Finally Thelix’s life was complete he had a steady income helping his father in the forge, a good place to live, and had even taken over performing the services to Gorum. He was even considering gathering support and applying for a space in The Pantheon of Many. But something was still missing in his life. Gaedren Lamm still lived free.

Hooray!
Allarion grew up the son of a seamstress. Being half-elven, he was picked on a lot, but dealt with it through charm. When he was 13 he was apprenticed to a carpenter. Everything was pretty normal until he met Melisandre. Melisandre was beautiful, charming, smart and loved him. They were married shortly after, and moved into a small home together. Allarion thought his life was perfect, until the night. The Guard showed up at his door, took him into custody and marched him into a small room where the body of Melisandre was lying, her throat slashed. He was their prime suspect. Even after his alibi was established, his reputation was ruined. No one would hire him. He moved from his happy home into his shop, selling what small pieces and work he could. He retreated from the world, vowing to solve his wife's murder.
And then one night, as he was endlessly prowling the alleys where her body was found, he heard something. The City spoke to him. It told him of secrets, of spells, of ways he could find her killer. Ever since then he's been following any lead, roughing up any thug or lowlife, all to find his wife's killer. He knows he's close, one name keeps coming up: Gaedran Lamm.

Stray Hal |
Please check Stray Hal out. I still have to complete the equipment portion and edit his background.
I chose the "jumpy' feat from CoCT. I can't open my copy at work. If I remember correctly it gives +1 on reflex saves.
Please correct me if I am wrong about his skill points. I figured [8 points +1 for intelligence] x 4 = 36 + 4 for human at first level = 40 total. Is this correct? I never played 3E so I might be a bit off.

Andreas Skie comes from a well-off but not noble family from Cheliax. His father,a physician, saw a good opportunity
in Korvosa, especially with the number of noble Houses who might be in need of a proper doctor from the metropolis.
From his family trade comes Andres' love for alchemy. But his passion became magic, especially when exposed to some
of the ruins in the city and in the Varisian environs. Thus, he joined the Academae at an early age and spent the
best part of his youth behind its walls... All was going well, graduation coming close, but one fateful night he
decided to take a stroll along the docks with some friends looking for bindable vermin. It was then when he witnessed
a murder. He does not care about the poor devil, probably the result of some seedy dealing going awry, but his
surprise was total when the Guard came by and two innocent "sailors" accused him of the crime. What followed was
hell, beyond the aberrations with the Acadamae summons. Trial came, Andreas was gently asked to leave the Acadamae
(quite an uncanny event) and, though finally acquited, several months passed in fear and anguish, both for him and his family.
His big dream was broken, though he has come to figure out that, had not the Guard taken him into custody for the
whole process, the Acadamae might as well have made him disappear in a more discrete way... He took offence against
the institution that rejected him and devoted the last few years to mastering magic on his own (through independent training
and many trips to the University's library, courtesy of his father's contacts), but also to tracking down the
ultimate responsible of the murder and framing, one petty crimelord name Gaedren Lamm. He has not been able to locate him yet,
but it is a matter of time, contacts and money...
Andreas is a thin, pale-skinned man. He has delicate factions which now look quite haggard, he tends to wear his
hair long and spends days without shaving. He also favors dark blue or grey clothes and wearing a black coat and matching
boots. He has a sharp sense of humor, but cannot help the occasional witticism or know-it-all remark. His experiences
have left him out quite disenchanted with the "intellectual elite" of the magical world and has a special dislike
for those who abuse positions of power. He can run out of patience fast with those who show no brains in a situation.

Everything looks good so far! Stray Hal, skill pts are correct so go ahead and assign them to the skills you want! Allarion, Andreas and Thelix, Characters looking good, go ahead and place them in your profile under your character's name. Andreas, RotRL feats are fine so if anybody wants to change their's go ahead. I'll start a dicussion thread in the next few days giving everyone a chance to get their character's done and see what Erekse13 comes up with.
We can go with who we got but I am willing to take two more people if they post in the next 48 hrs.

I'd also be interested in this game, and hope you can still squeeze me in. My own attempt at CotCC died in the pre-game prologue i had written up, but i have been going through the book, so some previous knowledge is present. I have not fine-tuned or actually prepared any adventure, however, so i guess i am not too spoilered here.
Hope to hear from you!

Ok we are now full! I will take no more people at this time!!!!!
