Does anyone feel that the ability to control 8HD of Undead creatures to be a little much for a 1st level Necromancer?
Also would this allow a Necromancer to control a single Undead creature with 8HD?

The necromancer still needs to have some spell to animate or control the undead. This is a boost to the number of undead he can control as his maximum limit, which is normally 4 HD/level.
