I thought it might be good to have a thread dedicated to discussion of which skills have been combines or uncombined and the specifics of what they each do (as opposed to how the whole skill system works and ranks vs. points, etc.).

Deception is gone...pitty
open lock got rolled into disable device so Sleight of Hand is back a single skill

thats all I have seen so far

I've been meaning to get back to this but haven't had time to sit down and compare the two docs side by side. Looks like someone else got to it first. Thanks Guillaume Godbout (if you haven't seen it, he did the whole Aplha1.1 vs. Alpha 2)!

Table 5-3
• Remove Deception from the list of altered skills - Bluff and Sense Motive are back as separate skills.
• Remove Theft from the list of altered skills, add Open Lock -> Disable Device - Sleight of Hand is back as its own skill and Open Lock went to Disable Device.

Table 5-4
• Replace all “cc” with “-” - Cross-class skills no longer exist.
• Remove the Deception and Theft entries.
• Add the following entries:
- Bluff - C - - - - - - C C - Yes Cha - That's bard, rogue and sorcerer.
- Sense Motive - C C - - C C - C - - Yes Wis - That's bard, cleric, paladin, ranger and rogue.
- Sleight of Hand - C - - - - - - C - - - No Dex - That's bard and rogue.
• Replace the Disable Device key ability with “Dex” - It used to be Int but now picks up Dex from Open Lock.
• Replace the Swim key ability with “Str” - This just corrects an error in Alpha1.

Bluff (Cha)
• Add the whole Bluff entry - Lie, Feint, and Secret Message seem unchanged, but Bluff cannot be used to detect a lie or counter a feint as Deception could; Sense Motive is now used to counter attempts to lie or feint in combat.

Disable Device (Dex; Armor Check Penalty; Trained Only)
• Add the whole Disable Device entry - Looks pretty much like Disable Device from the SRD except is says, "You are skilled at disarming traps and opening locks." A lock is now treated like just another mechanical device.

Heal (Wis)
•Add the whole Heal entry - First Aid, Long-Term Care, Treat Wound from Caltrop ..., Treat Poison, and Tread Disease look mostly the same as the SRD with a few wording changes and clarifications. A new use, Treat Deadly Wounds, has been added. A healer may restore 1 HP per level (or HD?) of the creature being healed and if the healer beats the DC20 by 5 ,she may add her Wis bonus.

Stealth (Dex; Armor Check Penalty)
• In the Check description, replace “If your observers are momentarily distracted (such as by a Deception
check),” with “If your observers are momentarily distracted (such as by a Bluff check),”
• Replace the Creating a Diversion to Hide description with: “You can use Bluff to allow you to use Stealth. A
successful Bluff check can give you the momentary diversion you need to attempt a Stealth check while people are
aware of you.” - [i]References to Deception are changed to Bluff. Everything else looks the same.[i]
