Recommendation for Sunder rules.

Alpha Release 1 General Discussion

I would like to suggest that the target of a Sunder attempt may use either his/her CMB or AC, whichever is better (perhaps without armor bonus?); or that Dexterity be allowed to be used in place of Strength in the CMB formula to represent evasion. Thoughts?

The rules for Sundering an item read as follows:

"Sunder
You can attempt to sunder an item held or worn by your
opponent as part of an attack action in place of a melee
attack. If you do not have the Improved Sunder feat,
or a similar ability, attempting to sunder an item provokes
an attack of opportunity from the target of your
maneuver. You must be wielding a weapon to attempt
a sunder.
If your attack is successful, you deal damage to the item
normally. If the damage you deal exceeds the object’s
hardness, the object gains the broken condition. If the
damage you deal exceeds the object’s hardness and hit
points, you can choose to destroy it. If you do not choose
to destroy it, the object is left with only 1 hit point."

And the rules for the Broken condition are just dandy.

I'm also curious as to whether an item can be sundered multiple times, and if so do penalties stack?

BUMP

:)

As far as i can tell the feat that changes the CMB to Dex is written it applies to all CMB not just some. Both offensive and defensive.
