Go robot army GO!

Go clone army GO!

Something like the Clones in Star Wars, yes?

But instead of Stormtroopers they bred RPG Designers...

Or more like the Borg?

Another sign that Lovecraft was right, there are cosmic powers out there that bring insanity!

Lovecraft + Trek either = blasphemy or AWESOME!

I'll take either really in reference to Sinister! :-)

Ahem, there is not only A or B, there is always a C*:

*Comercial Slogan for Carlsberg Beer here in Ireland

**only in the strict Fanboy sense of Blasphemy of course

But after listening to the podcast I am intrigued by Razor Coast now. I like Dajobas what you spoke of him. But more it was how you described the adventure being a web plot style instead of linear. I have always run all my games more along the web design. Create a world and events and set them in motion. Drop hints and let the PC's do what they want to do and suffer the effects if they don't take action as they see bad things happen. My players also love that cause they think it breaths more life into the adventures.

The fact you mention you are writing and plan to have all the Dark Vista's that way I find very appealing.

Yep! That's exactly what we have in mind for the Dark Vistas! You and your players do what ever the hell you want.

Meanwhile the sinister forces that be do whatever the hell they want...MUUUHHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I have to admit, if not for the talent involved, I probably wouldn't be looking too closely at Razor Coast. Too bad they didn't hire you guys to do the third Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

Ha! Yeah, that movie had some great moments, but mostly was a lot of "hmmmm..." for me. The battle scenes were pretty cool though, at least the huge fight on the maelstrom at the end.

Reminds me...I have to commission another Indulgence tonight!

Yeah I much prefer adventures that way. if they are to linear and the players miss a clue or just make the wrong guess. All to often the GM is forced to do damage control on the fly and try and herd the PC's back on the adventure storyline while trying not to be ham handed and railroading. I know my players utterly loath if they feel they are being railroaded. Which is why i like the Pathfinder stuff so far, they are fairly linear but open enough there is no set order to them really, with lots of clues and ways the PC's will get back on things on their own.

So if your new adventures are even more geared that way, then likely I am presold.

Word! One of the many excellent aspects of Pathfinder is the level of detail Golarion is given and the amount of sheer awesome information included in every path. You could really go off the beaten path (so to speak) if you wanted to in either RoftheRL or CoftheCT and there's so much great material to keep the game on track. Rock!

That's right Lords and Ladies of Paizo.

I've launched my own publishing studio, nothing gigantic, but we're scrappy, and we don't disappoint. Come check us out. We've got adventures and articles by Greg A. Vaughan, Wolfgang Baur, Craig Shackleton and myself for sale right now here:

Logue, any plans to eventually explore the Dark Vistas setting with a campaign book, gazetteer, race books, etc.?

For now my plan is to avoid creating one cohesive setting from these. I like the idea that each is its own separate nightmare realm.

However, I'll definitely post ideas on how these might fit in the same world on the forums and blogs. You'll also note that level-wise, Razor Coast segues right into Ebon Shroud. :-)

Dark Horizons on the other hand is getting a setting treatment. More on this to come. Exciting stuff!!!

Ha! Yeah, I'm actually trying to get this fixed so that you don't have to log in to get it now, but Joomla (the content management system I'm using for the site) is being difficult...I need my web majordomo's help, and I won't be back in NYC until tomorrow morning! Curse my rambling ways!

Exactly the kind of flavor I am going for! I like that you could play a whole campaign, or mini-campaign in a Dark Vista, but you could also just have your PCs head there at some point in your home campaign to break up the action or offer something a little different.

Ravenloft was delicious in its gaming versatility, and I want Dark Vistas to satisfy the same way.

If people want your free stuff, that cost you money to produce, seems the least they can do to help the little guy starting out is to show support by registering on your site. It takes ten seconds. Quid Pro Quo, Clarice.

Just let it be known somewhere on site that they can't get the freebies without registering.

I had that problem as well. Turns out you can't use _ - or a space in your login name. I had to make mine DarkMistress for example. Nick you might want to have that posted that the login name can't use certain characters that people often use. Might help with some of the problems, least if he is having the same problem I did.

i filled it out and would hit update and nada would happen. Took me over a day to figure out what was wrong.

No biggy a lot of forums and web page programs have their own little quirks. Just takes a bit of playing around to learn them, I am not sure what script you guys use on yours. I am not sure i am familiar with it, granted I am most familiar with PHP.

I have affiliated myself with your madness now, Nick. I'm already playing in savage tide and trying to come up with an excuse why my abjurer needs a corsairs eyepatch, so you had me with the whole swashbuckler angle, no less the chance to see you and Pett meet. Kinda like Godzilla vs Mecha-Godzilla. It will be a monumental battle but whoever wins, Tokyo is still screwed.

Anyway, payday today. If only I could buy more time to read/game. Hmm.

Nick,

A couple of things:

1) Is there any chance I could query you for an indulgence?
2) A couple of days ago I joined Sinister but I messed up with my username, the site won't let me setup another account using the same email account. I sent an email to the admin but it hasn't been followed up on, can you assist?

The space in my username was the problem.

Thanks DarkMistress, Thanks Nick,

I read on your website that your "Dark" lines would support Tru20 via PDF. Can you explain how this works? Will there be a separate PDF for each product in it's True20 version?

Hi Katowice!

True 20 pdfs will be offered for every Dark Vista and Dark Horizon. The fun thing is that if you buy one version, you'll get the others free anyways. So buy a print book of True 20 and you'll get the OGL 3.5 compatible as well as Runequest and other systems as I acquire the licenses. If you buy Razor Coast and I get new licenses, I'll do updates of it later and send you copies of those pdfs too.

Nick,

I apologize if this has been answered already, but if you preorder stuff on your site through PayPal, will it bill right away? I ask because I've already spent my discretionary (gaming) funds for this (next) month but I have an eye on the Ebon Shroud. Thanks.
