I know this thread may belong in the Play-by-Post discussion board but as I specifically want to playtest the new rules I thought I would ask here. I think I'll either run Rise of the Runelords, but am hesitant because I only have the first four, or I'm thinking or making an original campaign that I would set in Golarion, or my own world.
Because the idea is to test the rules I'm only allowing classes that have been converted, so fighter, cleric, rogue, wizard for now. Looking for 4 players.
Let me know what you guys think!

Sure, I'm in. Now do I want to be a human or a dwarf, and do I want to be a fighter or a cleric... hmmm....

I'd love to give it a shot!
PS: I've never done a PbP before either.

TriOmegaZero wrote:PBPs fill up pretty quick around here. Maybe it should be arena combat, multiple parties. XDHey I like your idea. :D
So is that another PbP that you'll be starting up Rad? ;)
How many will that make, 6...7...8? Not to mention those you're playing in, 13...14...15?You're a glutton for punishment, you know that right! =)

You can name the game the Ultimate Fighting PBP - A Playtest
Reminds me of an old KODT strip.
How about PCs will be at level 6 plus 1d6 levels? The PCs e-mail their character sheets to the GM, so that no one can gain undue advantage.
The fighting arena is a chessboard. Pull out your chessboard and you can already visualize the combat.
This is just an idea, by the way.

I like it. It's a great way to put the combat parts of the new system to the test.
How about each player submits a character of a certain race/class/level combo, and the GM(s) then divvy them up into parties (grouping similiar levels and aiming to for iconic fighter/wizard/rogue/cleric parties). Then let em rip on a chessboard (which is essentially a 40ft x 40ft room). As the previous poster suggested, the GM could even throw in some traps and the like to try out some of the skill changes.
I'd definitely be in.
:)

YES this is a great ideal and would be willing to help any way i could.
maybe set the players up in stables with each stable having someone in charge of running it and keeping things going. may put a limit on the size.the mangers being the GM's could all help creation of an arena .
you could even go with with each GM holds his own arena design . all stables could put in players. the type of contest would be up to the GM.
It might look like this
Red stables arena challenge 4 events with stable vs stable fights to see which stable get to compete in the events
determineing round fights is 1 pc per stable vs everyone else last pc standing . his stable gets to compete in the event
no one knows the event but the GM running that event its not known to the others until it is time for DRF.
DRF
1 2 players vs 2 dire lions
DRF
2 jousting 3 teams of 2
DRF
3 4 vs 4 team battle
DRF
4 main event 2 pc's vs stone giant
Now each fight is worth points and a point for winning it
so each stable is competing for points.
this also brakes up the job of GMing to more people.
just a thought
