We've started off pretty slowly, so everyone's still 1st level. I'll let the players themselves fill you in on what's happening in-game.Thanks for the update on the story so far. Looks like my tomb raider will fit in just nicely. Hopefully I'll be able to add skills and such soon. Working on it for sure within Invisible Castle.

When you have your character mostly finished, create an alias and a profile with your character info.
Created the profile. I'm adding to it as I go.
Feats (2): Deft Hands, Dodge
Skills (8+1+1): Acrobatics +4 (1 rank), Appraise +4 (1 rank), Climb +4 (1 rank), Disable Device +6 (1 rank), Escape Artist +4 (1 rank), Knowledge (dungeoneering) +4 (1 rank), Perception +4 (1 rank), Sleight of Hand +6 (1 rank), Stealth +4 (1 rank), Use Magic Device +4 (1 rank)

Tio, Lotus is looking good so far.
A couple of notes on what you have so far:
You can add +2 to one ability score as a human.
You should also pick one martial weapon proficiency and your favored class (if you pick Rogue, you'll get +1 hp).
And there's one change to the Ziggurat Raider feat: it should be a +2 bonus to save vs. mechanical traps, not +2 (I mis-typed).
Finish up the rest of your character (max hit points, saves, attacks and weapons, and equipment: average starting gold), and I'll give you a spoilered post in the game thread that will introduce you to the action.

Sounds good, FW.
For all you rangers out there, Alpha 3 is now out so you can finally convert to PFRPG!
Also, there have been a few other minor changes, most notably in the sorcerer bloodlines for Pindara.
I'd like to have everyone converted to Alpha 3 by next weekend, if possible. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Tio, here's background info for Lotus to start. Once you finish the character, I'll post more specific details in the game thread to bring her into the story.
"Recently, several nobles and merchants of Khemair's elite classes have been burned alive by magical flame. No one knows who is behind the attacks or why. When the fiery assassinations began, agents were dispatched into the jungle to investigate. Their hearts were sent back in a box – they had been turned to stone! A message was attached, by someone named Lady Medus, warning against sending further agents into the jungles.”
“A week ago, a tomb robber named Samir Kharsus stumbled out of the jungle, covered with frightful burns that covered his entire body. The knave has since disappeared, but he is believed to be somehow connected to the murders.”
Shah was tasked with finding some people to address the problem. He hired a group of adventurers, led by a fat dwarven barber named Bedu bin Bakandar, to find Kharsus and end the fiery magical attacks.
While he thinks these adventurers might well be able to handle the problem, Shah also wants someone on the "inside" to report back to him on their progress, let him now how the investigation is going, and so on.
So Shah offered Lotus a choice: work for him as his personal agent or face the full force of the city's law. Once this investigation is over, you will be free. It would be foolish to decline such an "offer," so you accepted and went in search of the adventurers.
Shah has provided you with a letter of introduction to be given to Bedu explaining that you are another adventurer hired by the council to assist in the investigation. You are to cooperate with the adventurers in their investigation, and you should NOT tell them that you are reporting personally to Shah. All your reports should be given to a man named Jamlit, the bartender at a tavern called the Murdered Manticore.

I am not dangerous. I am lawful good says so on my character sheet. And the halfling is still alive with a deep seated hatred for lawful good clerics wielding maces.
The funny part is, when Liet & Skittle approached, I was thinking we'd play good cop Liet & bad cop Skittle. Then you popped her over the head w/ your mace.
Life got a little busy, but I'll catch up tonight.

Spoiler:Lotus was recently apprehended by the city guard while engaging in some petty theft in the Khemair district of Muiu Thral. While awaiting sentencing, she was visited by a man named Amik Shah, an agent of the Khemair district council. He told her the following information:"Recently, several nobles and merchants of Khemair's elite classes have been burned alive by magical flame. No one knows who is behind the attacks or why. When the fiery assassinations began, agents were dispatched into the jungle to investigate. Their hearts were sent back in a box – they had been turned to stone! Lotus is ready to join. If I forgot anything in my "sheet" please let me know and I'll fix it.

Looks good, a few minor fixes needed:
- Please pick a favored class (if it's Rogue, you get an additional +1 hp per level!)
- As a human, you can also pick one additional martial weapon proficiency
- Languages: you speak Iskandrian, and get one more from your Int bonuses
- Appraise skill should be +5, as it is based on Int, not Wis
I'll go ahead and post your further introduction in the game thread.

Hey folks, with combat over, how about Alpha 3 conversions?
Indo and Pindara, I'm looking at you! You're missing out on some cool abilities!
Skittle, have you converted yet? (don't think there's too many changes at L1)
Bedu, it looks like you have, can you confirm that?
If you have any questions about what to change or anything else, feel free to ask 'em!

Apologies for not confirming, I said I was going to do it and I did it.

So we're down an arcane caster.
Do you guys want someone to replace her? We still have 5 PCs, including Indo and Bedu who are both arcane casters, so a replacement isn't strictly needed.
If so, we can invite someone else in (though I'm not sure how to bring another stranger in at this point - 1 letter from Amik Shah is enough). Steve/Indo has someone interested.
Or I can introduce an NPC to make up the shortfall a little later. (And I could NPC Pindara until then, if you think we need her.)
Let me know what you think.

OK Steve, feel free to ask Shane Cotton to join, preferably playing Pindara to ease his introduction to the party, but he can remake her however he wishes using the Alpha 3 rules (a female human sorcerer, but he can change anything else.)
Ask him to check in here in the discussion thread, and he can find character creation info in the original game thread.

Hey guys, how does everyone feel about me making necessary rolls for your characters to keep the game moving? Basically things like Perception rolls or other skill checks that might be needed in response to actions in the game. I'd like to leave combat rolls to you, of course, but if I can just make a few rolls now and then it might keep the game moving faster.
What do you think?
Robert G. McCreary
|
No problem; how many and what kind of dice rolls you need?
I was thinking of just rolling when needed and telling you the results, rather than having to wait for someone to post.
Alternately, if you'd prefer to make all your own rolls, you can make like twenty straight 1d20 rolls on Invisible Castle and give them to me. I'll take 'em as rolled, adding your appropriate skill modifiers to them.
Keep in mind, though, you'll still be making most of your own rolls. This would just be for times when it's better to keep the game moving (like in combats).

First, my apologies,as I have been totally blowing off the discussion thread and just looking into the game thread. I will try to be more alert.
Second, I will ask Shane today how he feels about the character, and he'll respond to Rob directly. I wouls have acted on this sooner, but I was looking in the wrong places for a response.
Third, I know Indo is sufferiung both in luck and style points. I'll try to get him updated right away.
Fourth, I am keen on moving the game along, and if someone besides me rolld, maybe I'll get above a ten. Not much of an action hero if I can't hit AC 12.
Great gaem, though. Can't say enough how pleased I am with the quality of writing and roleplay. Thanks, everyone.

I would prefer you to make those rolls, especially perception, bluff, etc and just give us a narrative on the results.
Combat I would prefer to roll so I agree with you too. Not a huge fan of invisible castle but I don't mind using it that much.
Overall I think you are on to something.
Cheers

Hey, gang! I've been discussing this with Rob and Steve, and I'd love to join you guys! I've read the game thread, so I'm caught up on what's been happening... Is Pindara's account perchance available, so I can post with the same name and icon? Or should I make a similar but new account?
Thanks for inviting me!

You'll need to create a new alias, since the original Pindara is someone else's alias. But you should be able to use the same avatar. Not sure about the name, though - you may have to put a period or underscore after it so the name isn't doubled too.

Funny thing. I decided to finally catch Indo up as a Pathfinder ranger, and I realized -it was already done. Since his Track bonus is currently +0, there was nothing to change. I did, however, discover that his bastard sword is supposed to be masterwork, so I changed that. Now Invisible Castle is gonna have to drop one lower to give me the same crappy attack rolls.
