Altai's summoned monsters wrote:*SPLASH*MUCH*GULP*
blah blah.
Really, Vatters? After all those years in school you can't even spell "munch"? Instead of writing an evocative description of a tense fight, you come up with dogespeak? "Wow. Much gulp"?
I'll show myself out.
I don't know which I enjoyed more. The 'Much Gulp', or your own self-recriminations.
I love this group. Truly. :)

If you are unfamiliar with doge, this is a good, if overly serious place to start. Much analytics. Wow.
I briefly considered making a really g*&+%!n dumb barbarian PC who would talk dogespeak. "Wow. Much goblins. Such fighting. So battle. Wow." But it was too f&$+ing annoying, even for a one-off.

There are probably no full-ride assistantships, but many professional-degree programs have opportunities for grading undergrad papers, being a professor's batman and things like that. The pay is crap, but it looks great on your resume and it is a great way to really learn the material.

Well, my wife's trying to get a teaching gig. I have prn work.....when I DO work I make enough money to where what I figure being a batman wouldn't even compare fiscally, (by my estimation I'd make more money 10 hours of prn than 30 hours of that stuff) so I definitely have to stick with that.....I don't work that much (I bet I average around 20 hours a week) so I got scads of time to study, I got my retirement to fall back on, and I can get financial aid, so I'll probably roll like that for a little under 2 years when I can get a degree and find full time work again.
The main b$@+% for me I think is this: I do call every f+*@ing night, and all weekend every weekend. Like, last Wednesday I got called in at 1 am, and the following night I couldn't get to sleep till 4 am because I got totally jetlagged out and my body thought it was on Athens, Greece time when I was in Dallas, Tx. That f*@$s me up when I get called in to work too late in the night, and I have to spend a few days teaching my body when it's supposed to be awake and asleep.
But,.....when I get cranking and can do a lot of my classes online, it doesn't matter when I'm doing the studying; so I think it might work out even if I'm in this constant rubberbanding between when I think my sleep cycle is supposed to be happening.

Lol!
Awesome Heathy! Hope it ends up being a lot more fun than it sounds?!? ;P
BTW,
I was in such a hazardous hurry this last weekend, (Attending Anime Convention, and going with family to beach in Florida) I forgot to notify all my PbP's that I am out of town this week. ;P
Sorry for unannounced absence, Will be returning this weekend, and should be back to usual insanity by Monday.
Thanks all, see you soon,

At my house we are in the final run-up to our annual fall adventure. This year, we will not have access to wifi for at least four days. In addition, pressure at work related to my anticipated absence and ongoing major project may take me out of the game earlier than that and may keep me off the boards for a while after.
I wanted to post this to all my games while I could to explain that I may go silent for a while. I may get a few more posts in - I'm not sure when radio silence will begin. It could start as early as today - probably late tomorrow - and might run through the 26th if the project goes poorly.
Please don't let my absence stall the game. Bot me as necessary and we will pick up the pieces (or roll up my new character) when I return.
Peace.

Back from the trip. We hiked rim-to-rim at the Grand Canyon. It was hard, it was amazing, it was worth it, and I can't wait to return to do it again.
Will see tomorrow what work holds in store. That's going to impact posting availability - I just hope the vacation was enough to keep me sane over the next couple of weeks.

Wow.
Finally,. A good use for the time spent waiting in barber shops! :)
I am usually relaxed around this time. I don't normally get busy until middle of Oct. And then it doesn't last forever. Spring is usually worse.
But THIS time, I'm still trying to clean up after the renovation destruction, they keep trying to give me more projects, (which have nothing to do with the job I am hired for, ;P) and we are already busy with shows. And booked solid till Christmas break.
At this rate, I dread my usually busy Spring! :(
At least I'm in good company! :D
