Fee Templefound |

Durnham is considered waiting, he can post at any point…
Brawl at the Sitting Duck: Round 3
Rall is not so fortunate and as he is struck up alongside the head, he falls, next to the bleeding body of Hilp.
The tinge of regret is short lived as Rall falls nearby. Here is a man in need of help that Fee can provide. The halfling scoots up to the lawman, places his hands on him and whispers a healing prayer.
Fee converts Endure Elements into Cure Light Wounds for Cure Light Wounds: (1d8+1=7)

Bowen Quaid |

Rall Kirnast |

Surrounded by ice and snow Rall wonders how he found himself in this cold dark cave, trapped and alone. Then from behind him the warmth of a woman's gentle touch and the glow of a torch offers him a sense of safety and security. Before he can see the woman's face, the torch begins to spin around his head and the noise of a rockslide causes his heart to jump ... At which point he opens his eyes to find a tavern full of brawling swordsmen spinning around him and a halfling trying to pick his pocket.
'Don't get involved,' he thinks to himself before recalling that he's a deputy sheriff 'Okay, then ... lie very still, pretend to be unconscious, and you'll have a good reason not to get involved.' Which is exactly what he proceeds to do.

Turnipin Acorncap |

Turnipin casts unseen servant and hands it his dagger. "Go wave this over the halfling," the gnome instructs.
As soon as the invisible force begins to carry the dagger across the room Turnip yells out, "Beware the enchanted blade which protects the fallen or your life is forfeit!"
The blade bobs up and down over the halfling.
Turnipin begins to move to about 30 feet of the combatants.

Rall Kirnast |

Peaking out through one half-opened eye, Rall thinks 'Oh, great. A halfling picking my pocket and now a floating dagger. ... This never happened in the city.'
What does Rall see in terms of the thugs. Are they still looming over him? He's thinking about getting up but figures he'd be right back down on the floor if he did.

Dunham |

Dunham watches the fight unfold cautiously with his rapier drawn. He decides that now is the best opportunity for him and he attempts to move into a flanking position behind the thug that Bowen has just missed.
If he succeeds in flanking then he attempts a sneak attack.

The Chronicler |

Sorry for the delay in posting. For the record, Sunday and Monday are my two slowest days for posting :)
The dagger floats unnervingly over the halfling as Fee heals Rall. Durnham, meanwhile charges in and as his thin blade slices into the thug, the stricken man cries out and then stumbles and falls.
Brawl at the Sitting Duck: Round 4
The 2 enforcers: Initiative 21
Turnipin Acorncap: Initiative 20
Fee Templefound: Initiative 20
Rall Kirnast: Initiative 19
Bowen Quaid: Initiative 19
Durnham: Initiative 18
Balnar Frostblade: Initiative 12
As Bowen and Balnar both fight, the enforcers they are facing off against move back to back. Most of the rest of the patrons in the tavern have either vacated out the door or are pressed against the wall, watching the ‘entertainment.’ The chairs and tables, for the most part, have been likewise pulled back, so that the combatants have space.

Bowen Quaid |

Getting annoyed Bowen steps in closer and swipes his blade from low to high trying again to free the thugs blood from his body.

Yay I rolled a teen!!

The Chronicler |

Rall attempts to grab the 'magic dagger' from the air above his head, hoping that it isn't going attack him and then rolls to his right and tries to get on his feet.
Let me know if any dice need to be rolled here
I'll leave the results of this attempt up to the Invisible Servant's master.

Attack on Thug: (1d20+3=21, 3d6+6=16)
With a roar, Balnar connects with another thug and sends him flying. With a smirk, he steps in to flank the last remaining thug.

Dunham |

Dunham quickly flicks the warm dark fluid from his blade in the direction of the two remaining enforcers. He feels it is time to prove to them that they are not dealing with mere amateurs.
He motions his free hand pointing towards one of the two enforcers as if to indicate "you are next" and steps forward with a lunge to put the rapier into his torso. However, it appears that by alerting the enforcer to his intent it results in a wild miss. Dunham curses under his breath obviously upset with his bit of showmanship and how it has backfired.

Turnipin Acorncap |

Unseen Servants only have a Str 2 so I would rule that Rall just snatches it (otherwise you're talking about an opposed Str check, but since Turnipin didn't specify what to do, servants have no intelligence, and they will not participate in combat, I think it's a mute point).
Turnipin watches the remaining thugs try to fend off the men aiding the fallen lawman. Then Rall jumps up and snatches the dagger. Surprised, Turnipin calls the servant back.
The gnomes casts his Dancing Lights as a glowy humanoid shape and sends it distract (DC 13) the thugs by hovering directly infront of one.

The Chronicler |

As Rall jumps up and grabs the dagger before rolling to his side, glowing, dancing lights appear in front of one of the thugs. As the man blinks in surprise, Bowen smashes into him with his dagger. A second later, as the last enforcer is dodging the dwarf's rapier Balnar smashes his leather covered axe blade down atop his head.
Less than a minute after the violence began, it seems to be over.
"Now who's gonna be the one to clean up this mess," yells Frelda, the older serving wench, as she gestures at the blood forming around the body of Hilp.

The Chronicler |

Frelda fixes her gaze upon Rall. It is a gaze that speaks volumes, telling a tale of disgust, contempt and vast irritation.
Finally she mutters one word, "Men!" and turns to yell at her subordinate, "Resmelda! Get a bucket and a mop!"
Then turning she begins scolding the various combatants, "Well, what are you waiting for... you made the mess, drag these bodies out of here and into the street where they belong!"

Fee Templefound |

When Rall jumps back, Fee screams in surprise and then looks up to the ceiling and says "Thanks." He watches as Rall snatches a dagger, apparently just hanging out in the air waiting for him, and then kills another man. Fee scowls. "I didn't save you so you could go kill everyone else. Whatever happen to subdual? And your welcome for dragging your otherwise deceased spirit back. Not that I need thanks, but you know, it is kind of miraculous and all. My name is Fee! I'm a wandering priest. It's a good thing I wandered in here, huh? What's your name?"
Fee dances around the room trying to get Rall's attention while Frelda complains. "If you bring me a bucket and some hot water, I'll get all that blood out. There was this time back in the temple - it was in Magnimar. Have you ever been there? It's amazing. There is this huge toppled bridge that some say giants built. Anyway, ..." Fee pretty much doesn't stop talking.

Rall Kirnast |

Rall grabs the arms of the nearest departed, giving him a kick to make sure he is indeed gone and not just leaving, and begins to drag him out of the room. Noticing Frelda's look of disgust at the trail of blood the body leaves behind signals to the barbarian to grab the feet. "I think this was one of yours anyhow. ... Thanks and all that."

Balnar Frostblade |

"Hey healer boy, lets stop the bleeding on these unconscious ones here. We dont want any of them dying here."
Balnar kneels down and begins to tie the shoelaces of the ones he had brained together. No use them running away if they wake up all of a sudden.
EDIT: Chronicler, you do remember that I had padded my axe specifically so that i would only deal subdual damage?

"Hey healer boy, lets stop the bleeding on these unconscious ones here. We dont want any of them dying here.
Balnar kneels down and begins to tie the shoelaces of the ones he had brained together. No use them running away if they wake up all of a sudden.
'Heal them?' thinks Rall 'These thugs tried to kill me and almost succeeded. Oh well, guess we have to do it the legal way and all that.'
"Oh ... yeah ... let's make sure they don't die or something bad like," says Rall trying to sound concerned and authoritative "Manacles! I've got manacles ... I think. ... Here they are. I'll manacle them together and we can take them to go see the sheriff when the good priest has healed them."

The Chronicler |

EDIT: Chronicler, you do remember that I had padded my axe specifically so that i would only deal subdual damage?
Well, yeah... but as DM I am ruling it did not work out quite as planned :)
IMO the leather cover made it bludgeoning damage and might have worked for non-lethal except you did way too much damage. Your damage was greater than their hp+10 in both cases.

Bowen Quaid |

Bowen bends over and examines the bodies. Any wounds within his capabilities he staunches and ads bandages.
Turning to Rall, "Well I'm glad ye decided to arrest some of them. This will make things dangerous for any of us. Especially the wee folk that helped." He motions towards the three nonhumans.
"We may need to stick together. If no other reason then to give a recollection to the sheriff. What think ye Rall?"
I can do healing checks if I need to otherwise I would have taken ten. This way we save magic healing for later.

Fee Templefound |

The heals are successful and three of the enforcers will live.
"Hey! I didn't even get to say that I heal them..."
Did Fee use the Heal skill or convert his three orisons to Cure Minor Wounds?
I can do healing checks if I need to otherwise I would have taken ten. This way we save magic healing for later.
EDIT: Sorry, didn't see this ealier. Nevermind.

Rall Kirnast |

"We may need to stick together. If no other reason then to give a recollection to the sheriff. What think ye Rall?"
"I think we stick together just to make sure we make it to see the sheriff without much more trouble. These two won't be starting any fights any time soon but I wonder what is waiting for us outside," says Rall. "If we can get these guys on their feet, what would you say to getting out of here?"

Bowen Quaid |

Is there any order we need to post in now?
"I think we stick together just to make sure we make it to see the sheriff without much more trouble. These two won't be starting any fights any time soon but I wonder what is waiting for us outside," says Rall. "If we can get these guys on their feet, what would you say to getting out of here?"
Bowen draws his bow and knocks an arrow, "If you will secure them I will scout ahead." He will move to exit out of the back way or a window and sneak or move silently around looking for anything before coming back in.

Dunham |

Dunham moves over to the enforcers and kneels next to each of them to see if he can provide any aid.

Fee Templefound |

Fee scrubs at the bloody floor.
"...so that's how all that blood got on the temple floor!" Fee laughs. "The priests made me clean it all up. It took a week, but I got the floors scrubbed cleaner than anyone could remember. Mrs. Johanna told me. She was this old wino that never missed a service. I told the priests it was because of the free wine but they didn't care. I guess that's ok. Cayden Cailean is the goddess of wine and all."

Bowen Quaid |

Like a liquid shadow Bowen flows back through another window making it appear that none have entered or left the tavern since the disturbance occurred.
"Looks like all is clear. Though I do not think we can relax our vigilance. As we move we need to keep ready for trouble the Consortiums do not take kindly to defeat."

Fee Templefound |

Fee Templefound wrote:"...Cayden Cailean is the goddess of wine and all.""And fortune," interjects Rall with a snarl, "Not feeling much love in that area tonight."
Fee looks quizically at Rall for a minute. "And who is that you think healed your wounds? None other than Cayden Cailean! I worship the aspect of freedom and the teachings of strength and bravery. Gasp!" Fee sucks in a deep breath or revalation. "Are you one of the faithful?!?"

Rall Kirnast |

Fee sucks in a deep breath of revelation. "Are you one of the faithful?!?"
"I ... If I were a religious man ... Look," says Rall waggling the arms of the body he's dragging "There'll probably be a better time to discuss that."
Looking around at the others he asks "Are we ready to go then? What's the plan? One to scout ahead, one to watch our backs and the rest to herd these three along? ... Or ... do we hold up in here and get the sheriff to come to us?"

"Will the Sheriff hear of this and come check it out? I didn't see anyone running to get him." Bowen shrugs and shakes his head. "These people out there will not get involved, it would mean death to them. Another choice is one of us go but again they may be a good target for another attack." As he walks looking out the windows with bow in hand he turns back to Rall.
Rall
"You are the Deputy here so you will no more about the way this town works, after all I spend my days outside the Wall."
I also do not know how far it is to the Sheriff.

"Naw, I vote we take the riff-raff to the sheriff."
Turnip hops down and heads for the door. Passing Dunham the gnome makes a mental note, loose morals might come in handy.

Rall Kirnast |

'I'm in charge?' thinks Rall 'Hey! I'm in charge.'
"Okay. So we go together. Bowen, if you don't mind, you can scout ahead a bit. Dunham, if I had your rapier behind me, I'd move at a steady pace. You keep these two in manacles in line. I'll walk with this one [the prisoner without manacles] and make sure he doesn't try anything. Everybody else ... as needed and crowd control. ... And ... and thank you for saving my life. All of you. Thanks."

"Do you mind if I get my dagger back...it is a bit small for you, afterall." Turnipin says.
