OK, concept.
Any race, (I do enjoy playing unusual races, In this case Thri-Kreen or Bird-man would be an example of things close to what I have played in the past). Something that I can get away with playing at least a LITTLE crazy at times. (See previous stated example of Athasian elves)
For sure Psi or Mage. (Not really wanting to get all heavy into 'Defiling',... unless it made for a great role-playing moment!) OR combo of the two. Not really worried at this time about the Avingion Prc,...yet. ;)

My biggest drawback to start Is, I can't find anything that tells me what Athasian races get for starting stats +/-, and how to build a FIRST level character with Athasian Psi abilities, etc.

Thri-kreens have negative modifiers to both Int and Cha, as well as racial HD and ECL modifiers. They are quite possibly the worst thinkable option for spellcasters.
Which is precisely why I'm not playing a thri-kreen spellcaster. 'Cause if they were any good at that, I'd play one... ;D

It's cool, take your time. The website is a little quirky sometimes, trying to figure out what those darn red arrows want you to click on.

To me, Dark Sun is a bit too lethal for screwy stuff like thri-kreen wizards. If I didn't play a monstrous PC, I'd played a spellcaster of sorts. But I wanted to play a bug...

Skills: Knowledge (arcana) 24 ranks, Knowledge (psionics) 24 ranks
Feats: Epic Spellcasting, Great Fortitude, any two metamagic feats and any two metapsionic feats
Spells: Must be able to cast 9th level arcane spells and manifest 6th level psionic powers
Special: Must perform a ritual that requires the sacrifice of no less than 1,000 HD of living creatures and 50,000 gp (or cp as per Athas).

I'm pretty sure that the req's for entry into the Avangion PrC are the same , except I think instead of SACRIFICING 1,000 HD worth of people, you have to PLANT and care for an insane garden.

From Dragon 319
At 1st level, humans gain 3 pp and a 1st level power.
At 5th level, humans gain 3 additional points and a 2nd level power.
At 10th level, humans gain 5 additional points and a 3rd level power.
At 15th level, humans gain 7 additional points and a 4th level power.
Use character levels.
These power points and powers are in addition to those gained from the psion and psychic warrior classes.
Does this list hold true for humans only? Or do ALL races get something similar, just not as much as a human? Specifically elf and/or half-elf

She’s a little broken at the moment, but tougher than anyone I know. She’s small and our child was large. As a last ditch measure before giving up and dying, your thing that joins your pelvis together can burst like a pressure relief valve to let the baby out.
The bad news is the dye contrast made her ill and I she had to wake me up midday to look after the peanut while she hurled her guts out. They are both sleeping now, so I’m catching up slowly. Thanks for the concern though! :)

Childbirth is exhilarating and frightening. We were in the Philippines and a week after a C-section delivery because the cord was around my daughter's neck, my wife started hemorrhaging. Luckily we were living almost next door to a hospital.
It was a LOT of blood. When they wheeled her away I thought I might be raising a kid alone.
Aso's last memory is being struck from the front, square in the head, by something long and hard just as he glanced behind--luckily his skull proved harder than the obstacle. Going back from that electric moment: memories of hot wind in his hair, cooked meat hanging in mud-baked kiosks, the brush of people, robes, sweat, the sand and gravel beneath his pounding feet, the shouts of pursuers, elation--it had been too long. Only days before his debut in the gladiatorial pits: his escape from the geek cage. A glorious memory! The start of his brief but joyous freedom. Other memories, farther back: the cage where he had spent years pitted against animal after animal, the bray of gamblers, the bite of stones, sleep after sleep: terrible nightmares fading into the distant past. The woods, the smell of fresh water, moss, cool breezes, the caress of his mother, learning to hunt with his father: all echoes, memories of memories.
Watch out for this little dog of a man, readers; a day in the geek cage meant slaughtering deadly predators with only tooth and claw. His food: the skin, meat, or limbs he could tear off--his drink: the blood he could siphon... but only before the animals he killed could be dragged out by their chains to be eaten by the fat and the weak. A round-belly day for Aso was when he slaughtered an animal so large the handlers could not manage to get it out without being savaged. Those days they let him gnaw at it until he became slow enough that a brave man dared open the lid and drag the dead carcass out while prodding the gorged halfling off with spears. And how he has traveled! From week to week they moved him in his own wagon from town to city and back, bagging coins and sometimes even rinsing his cage out with sand. But never, ever, my friends, did men ever stand close to Aso's pen... well, not after the first time, anyway.
And now readers, a little social advice for anyone who picks up this sinuous and urine-reeking stray, or gods help you, for anyone followed home by him. When he does decide to talk, he stutters: do not finish his sentences for him. And never touch Aso while he is eating--don't even look at his food--not that you'd want to. And you'd best keep your shiny things hidden while he's around, not that he's much of a thief, but now and then he reckons it to be his and then you've got serious problems.

Wow. Been there. I have 4 kids myself, (from 2 wives. Some of us never learn!) And both previous and current wife were "high-risk", and all 4 kids were delivered by Zipper,... I mean C-section!
