Kenzo holds his spot, waiting to see what else unfolds.
Rilo snaps awake, spending little time the night before sleeping. He quickly looks around realizing how careless he was to have let himself doze off.
The sound of horns and drums is just a little louder as the beaters continue to approach.
Eugen and Kenzo

Magazin
As Magazin watches, the deer suddenly spook and then begin to walk a little faster. They are following a trail that winds around the base of the hillside upon which Magazin is sitting. A movement suddenly catches Magazin’s eye and he realizes it is Gyorgy, who is creeping along across the valley, following the ridge of the next hill.
Gyorgy
Bright eyes swing towards Gyorgy as he tries approaching closer through the bushes and trees that make up the woods. They are vivid green eyes set in the scarlet face of a rather sizeable cat. The animal’s pelt is scarlet, with thin black stripes. It is, deduces Gyorgy, a firepelt, and the animal had probably been tailing the deer. It stares at Gyorgy, as if trying to decide what to do. The face of the hunting cat is impassive, and Gyorgy cannot decide whether it is curiosity or animosity that lurks behind the eyes.
Rilo
Kenzo yells, "Eugen!" and tries to close the distance separating them as quickly as possible.
i yell "guh!" rather surprised.
I ready myself to attack with the short spear.
I gulp hard and try to ignore mental images of being eviscerated by a hunting cat. Instead I back slowly away from the beast, my spear ready to use defensively.
Kenzo and Eugen
Meanwhile, Eugen gets to attack the boar before the boar tries to gore him again.
Gyorgy
Lim lands in a tree behind the Cat, watching the scene intently.

Kenzo's voice cries out, and though it is muffled by the woods, everybody hears it, "Eugen!"
I hastily recover from my surprise and attack the boar with the short spear, wondering if the new weapon is really a better choice than my trusted sword. one way to find out!
I continue to move slowly backward, careful and ready to defend myself. However I also throw a few glances toward the deer the firepelt was stalking; hoping to remind the beast that it came here for venison, not long-pig.
I try to find a rock to throw in the direction of the deer to spook them and get them to run.
Kenzo and Eugen
Eugen’s attack goes wide as he stumbles around, trying to stay out of the way of the boar’s rather dangerous looking tusks.
Gyorgy and Magazin
At the same time, Lim suddenly cries out, in Varisian, “**FOE! FIRE! FLEE!**” in a loud voice. The hunting cat staring at Gyorgy starts and with a growl, whirls around, and then in confusion it too runs southward. In seconds, its scarlet hide disappears into the undergrowth. Magazin, from his vantage point can see just a glimpse of scarlet and then nothing.
I hold up a crooked finger and pet Lim in thanks when he lands there. Then I head over toward Magazin, looking for safety in numbers after that close shave.
"Well Gyorgy, fine day for a hunt, isn't it" I smile when I see Gyorgy.
"We should probably check out the yelling from Kenzo and make sure that Eugen is ok"
Kenzo and Eugen
As Kenzo runs forward he manages to close the distance between him and the beast. Following Eugen and the Boar's attacks upon each other, Kenzo can charge at the Boar on the beginning of the third round.
clearly flustered by my flubbed attack, i make another faulty thrust with the spear
"Well Gyorgy, fine day for a hunt, isn't it" I smile when I see Gyorgy.
"We should probably check out the yelling from Kenzo and make sure that Eugen is ok"
"That sounds like a plan." I head off with Magazin toward Eugen, Lim wheeling above us once more.
"I wander if Rilo's had any better luck?"

Eugen’s foot catches on something on the ground and the boar is upon him, tusk digging under armor.
His startled cry is audible to all and Magazin and Gyorgy are motivated to run a little faster by the audible distress.

Kenzo will have a flanking bonus when he charges.
Kenzo charges the boar while it is attacking Eugen, and attempts to throw a spinning back kick into its flank.

The boar shrugs off Kenzo's kick.
instead of clearing up my head, the wound from the boar seems to cloud it further:
Charging in from behind Eugen is Aldern Foxglove, “Fear not lad… We’ll take down this beastie!” Unfortunately the boar turns and Aldern’s spear glances off the thick hide.

The boar snorts and twists towards this new nuisance but Aldern jumps nimbly back and out of the way. “Oho!” shouts the excited nobleman.

Gyorgy and Magazin crest a hill and see the combat playing out atop a neighboring hill. Magazine can charge in on round 5. Gyorgy on Round 6. At the rate this fight is going, it won’t be over by then. You’ll need to roll iniative before then.
"Looks like we are in the nick of time, eh Gyorgy" I say as I move in.
Kenzo draws his sword and yells, "Eugen! Tend to your wounds! We'll take care of 'em!" He then tries to skewer the beast, but it surprises him with it's agility as it twists and avoids his thrust.
Attack on boar (1d20=12+1=13 for a miss)
Rilo was writing on some paper when he heard all the commotion, he dropped his pen quickly from being startled and rather than finding it he readied himself for battle..not sure of what was against him.
Rilo runs through the woods northwards. The drums and horns continue to the east but the sound of fighting is momentarily louder.
fighting the bloodloss and the embarrassment, i finally pull myself together for a decent strike:
i violently pierce the boar with my short spear, though not quite as effectively as it pierced me.
"Crikey, this explains why people farm!" I exclaim, before heading into the fray.

Aldern tries to stab at the boar, with some success as another bloody welt appears along it’s flanks.
Boar tries to gore Aldern: (1d20+4=18)
The boar in turn tries to gore Aldern but thought the beast knocks aside the nobleman’s shield, the armor beneath his tunic protects him.

Kenzo tries to relax and look for an opening . . . but his unfamiliarity with the boar and its movement continues to throw off his timing, and he misses the mark.
"deadly deadly beast" i mumble, taking advantage of its distraction with my fellow attackers to get another partial thrust in:
Aldern sees Magazin running towards the Boar and positions himself across from the boar, waiting for a possible distraction before he attacks.
The boar, heedless of anything but his anger and his target, continues to press the attack against Aldern, who tries hard to position his shield between him and the ferocious animal.

Aldern cries out as the boar’s tusk slam into his armored chest.
Charrrrrge!
Charge the Boar and damage if applicable. (1d20+6=19, 1d8+2=8)
"Hey guys, I see you found dinner. Don't we usually wait for a serving wench to bring it to us though?"
Aldern, struggles to recover from being winded. The boar squeals from the wound Magazin delivers and taking advantage of the distraction, Aldern, with a valiant effort drives his spear into the animal’s chest.

Damage: (1d8+1+2d6=11)
Despite the horrendous chest wound, the boar refuses to fall to the ground, but instead whirls around, red froth dripping from it’s maw.

Rilo crests the hill and sees a commotion across the way as a great beast is ringed around with armed men. The trumpets and drums continue to sound.
instead of moving out of the way to let healthier people in, i stubbornly continue to fumble with the spear.

Rilo imagines that with the trumpets and drums still going, all must be well but still continues forward to aid the group, if needed.
The bleeding boar whips around and tries to take its anger out on Magazin who manages to keep his skin intact.
The boar crashes to the ground from the impact of Magazin's blow. It heaves a final breath and then lays quiet and unmoving. In the background, the sound of horns and drums can still be heard.
Aldern takes a deep breath and winces as he rubs his stomach. "See," he says with a laugh, "That wasn't so bad. We dine on pork tonight!"
"Eugen and Aldern, looks like the boar was more interested in making you it's dinner instead of letting you make it ours" I smile while praying to Desna to heal their wounds.
Cure Light Wounds, for the two damaged hunters. (1d8+1=7, 1d8+1=2)
I then pray a bit more to heal Aldern.
Eugen for 7 points, Aldern for 4 points total.
"My thanks, friend," says Aldern with a smile.
"Now we just wait for the beaters to return and then we can take this prize back to Ameiko and throw a grand feast before I leave in the morn for my townhouse in Magnimar. You lot will have to come visit me there sometime. I'll show you around town and show you I know how to enjoy life in a somewhat less dangerous method..."
"Thank you Magazin, that feels significantly better," I say, smiling. "So this is how the other half lives, I guess? It reminds me a lot of normal life."
