That reminds me of something else I "heard":
All official 4E books have to be licenced and registered, with a 5-day waiting period.

See she comes
Blacker than pitch
Have to make this fallen b*!@&
All I want
All I crave
Demoness calls
The b~@+! is come
For those who wait
Cross the breach in hell
See she is
Bedeviled with breasts
Enchantment on legs
And she comes down to me
And she offers me sleep
Under her black wings
Damn now I gotta go rock to some Danzig

In 4.5 the only character race will be the tiefling, and the only character class will be the warlock, which will use D20 for it's HP. Characters will pick feats to make a 'Fighter Warlock', a 'Cleric Warlock, a 'Rogue Warlock', or a 'Wizard Warlock'. There will be no skills at all in 4.5- in the interests of making the game simpler any situation which an earlier version of the game would have required such a check for will be deemed an automatic PC success instead.

The Dungeon Master will no longer have to read box text or tell the players what they see in the room, thats the job of the Dungeon Dresser a DM side kick, all the DM has to do is play the role of evil monsters, Dragonborn innkeepers and Tiefling blacksmiths.*NOTE: If DDI Gametable is used a Dungeon Dresser is not required.

CEBrown |
A little known fact:
In order to play a Dragonborn, the player actually has to mate with a dragon. They allow the use of Komodo Dragons, however.
There is a similar rule regarding Tieflings and Outer Planar powers, but cracking the cover on the rule book automatically sells your soul to a random devil due to the User's License Agreement, so that is not quite so onerous.

That's only because he was ensorcelled by a rogue succubus name Shakira who is refusing to make the transition.
A party of adventurers are on a quest right now to break the enchantment she holds over Evil Elvis and forcibly convert her.
It should be noted that the adventurers are really kewl and fun. Not a single member is a gnome or half-orc.

Danzig has half orc in him.

The last ever 3.5 module published by Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro will be titled 'Vecna IV: Venca's Revenge'. All DMs in the US will be required to run it by presidential decree.
If the players sucessfully complete the module, and defeat Vecna, then they will be permitted to play whatever earlier versions of D & D that they wish. If they laugh at this, or lose, then they will be forced to switch to 4th edition.
The great wheel will turn/burn and once again a man with one hand, one eye, and a great deal of cheese will be used to usher in a new version of a game.
-Nostradamus (maybe).

On the basis of reverse psychology, Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro have been advised by their PR department to put out a press-release on the Paizo boards to announce that '3rd edition was the greatest version of the game ever, 4th Edition will utterly suck, and its only design parameter will be purely to make us money, not give you any enjoyment in playing it'.

Hard on the heels of the success of Fourth Edition, Wizards Game Developers will now tackle Monopoly.
Top Ten Changes in "Monopoly, 4th Edition"
10) Players can build houses once per turn.
9) Being in jail is "no fun", so players are always just visiting.
8) Shoe icon now has amazing rallying powers.
7) Yellow properties renamed "Dragonkin home world."
6) Players who can't pay their debts may roll dice. On an 11 or twelve, the player has "declared bankruptcy" and gets 25% of their starting money.
5) Properties are no longer on a Great Wheel, but free-floating amid other games' boards.
4) Uncle Moneybags now drawn with horns and tail. Change baffles everyone, but discussion banned on ENWorld.
3) Community Chest and Chance cards are now only available as on-line supplements. "But not needed to play the game," developers insist.
2) Grappling rules will be much easier.
And the Number One Change in Monopoly ...

Warforged Goblin |

And the Number One Change in Monopoly ...
1) Realizing that, as is, Monopoly is too much like a job or "Profession" (which is no fun at all), Hasbro has decided to completely scrap the game in favor of "Monopolie$ & Megacorp$". In this "newly imagined, but still the same" version the racecar and iron are now no longer core pieces, and Reading Railroad is no longer a core space to land on. However, this may change in later editions of the rules as "new incomes sources" are dealt with.

On a related note, apparently several rogue power leveling/gold selling sites are springing up that will let you buy uber cool items for your players using U.S. dollars. Unfortunately, this also means adventurers will have problems completing quests because the gold farmers will interrupt the games to kill all of the NPCs for their loot.

Here's a smurfy rumour:
Fidel Castro has in fact resigned because he wants to play 4E D & D; he in fact thinks that it's a great game, and especially the part where characters are alloted hit points by the system instead of the players getting to roll them.
Edit:
Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro are currently consulting with their PR department on whether they need to release a statement denying that Fidel Castro has in fact been recruited as play-tester for the first revision of 4E.

DM's everywhere are already forming the S.O.G.F.B.I.S.C. or "Stomp Out Gold Farming Before It Starts Campaign" This is coming on the heels of the knowledge that wotc will be outsourcing the printing to China and tech support for the D.I. to India. DM's rallied knowing that these countries have spies in place to start their nefarious gold farming/economy destroying activities once they get a chance to see any info on 4E.
The S.O.G.F.B.I.S.C.reminds you to crack down on goldfarming early, do NOT allow your players to sell gold or magic items on ebay or bring in things they have bought with their moms credit card from some website.
Be strong and we can defeat this plague before it starts.

The transition from Fireballs to Firecubes has been nerfed. The new game-map will be composed of Penrose Tiles.
Dungeon mapping has never been easier! No more pesky arguments about vertical movement! *Nobody* will understand it!
Fireball/cube will be named 'Hatches the Dragon's Pyroclaustic Fury!,' as any reference to geometic solids would be confusing.
Web will now occupy an orthagonal matrice, as that would be faster and easier than figuring out where to place 'cubes' of webbing, which never made any sense anyway. Web will also be renamed, 'Sticky Fruit of the Spider-Queen's Anal Glands!'
Dice will also no longer be in geometric solids, which have proven to be a choking hazard (and, in the case of d4s, sometimes a walking hazard). All of your dice-rolling needs will be handled by logging into the DI, where your numbers will be generated securely and randomly for a low, low fee.

Circles are too complicated; fireballs are now firecubes.
You do realise that one's not a joke or rumour, don't you?
