Yeah it said in the Player's Guide (I think - I donn;t have it with me) he's a Chaotic Good god of wine, fun, fighting, that sort of stuff. CG deities can have Paladins right?

I believe its spelled "Cayden Cailean"... well, one of us spelled it wrong anyways ;-)

Yeah, that's on me; I had to hurry up and type the reply.
... Huh. Okay. When I get back to my place, I'll have to check that, because I don't remember him at ALL.
Anyways... I'm not entirely sure if I can allow that in good conscience... I think there's a CG paladin varient, though, in UA. Mind checking that out?

Valegrim |

Okay, Valegrim:
This character sounds pretty good. I kind of like the fact that you don't have some tragic history like the rest of these drama queens ^_^
hehe drama queens :) is it ok that the druid and I know each other; am think she could have delivered me as a baby and all :)
Now, the thing I have issue with is your character sheet.
Valegrim wrote:

I'm not allowing Traits and Flaws. Sorry.
Ok, plain vanilla characters; got it.Valegrim wrote:

Now, I don't have RoD on me at the time, so could you tell me the effects of Heroic Destiny? Depending on the description, I might allow this as your background feat.
Allows adding a 1d6 roll before the roll to add to any single skill roll, attack roll, damage roll or save once a day.

What's up with the racial +1 skill points? Half elves don't get this, last I checked.
I put the page number from the UA right next to it; is a rule suggestion that all of us around here use, is up to you which is why I wrote it like that so let me know either way so I can adjust the skillsValegrim wrote:

Know History Varisia 1+2=3
You don't need seperate Knowledges for the same thing. Conserve your skill points.
K, some gms do them separate and some group them; so was just being concise.... Knowledge Law? Are you sure you want that, because I can't think of any reason for me to use that.
well, law is a prime attribute of my diety and Sandpoint has a judge and a sheriff and sometimes those rouge types dont walk the straight and narrow; I thought this might also be useful in diplomacy and stuff as law is generally codified cultural things and agreements and treaties between groups. Seems strange to be a lawful character and not know the law.

That really didn't explain anything, but I guess it was fortunate that I was able to get back my copy of UA.
Val, if you're going to add erroneous things such as alternate rules to your character, ASK first. In this case, I'll allow it, because it's not bad of a rule.

I just checked the PHB, and, according to page 78, Laws are covered by Knowledge (Local).

k thanks.

No worries, I thought I read that any good deity could have paladins, but I checked out the Paladin of Freedom in the SRD and it looks cool. Much better fit for how I imagine the character. So I'll go with that.

Hi everyone, I'm really sorry to do this, but I think I should withdraw from this game. Some crazy stuff has been going on IRL lately, and with my last university year starting up soon, I shouldn't make any long-term commitments that I probably won't be able to keep.
Mainly, I don't want to hold up the group with my sporadic posting, and with a campaign that is likely to go on as long as this one, I don't want to have to leave at an unfortunate point in the story to destroy everyone's suspension of disbelief (I hate it when this happens in my games).
I figured I should get this out there now instead of going ahead and becoming unreliable in mid-September. Again, I'm very sorry about this, but I will watch this adventure with great interest, since it seems like everyone has been making very interesting characters!
Enjoy yourselves, and maybe once things settle down for me, I can join the next one. Or heck, maybe even run one.

Dammit.
Okay, guys, here's the scoop: for the last week, I've been having a difficult time, and generally being cycloned left to right. It's a s@**ty excuse for my lack of focus, since you guys have been waiting for me patiently (for this, I thank you.)
So that you know, and so you don't get surprised by any future hold ups, I'm currently deployed in Iraq. Lucky me, I have internet access and what not in my workplace, but, unfortunately, it makes it hard to get access to my books (good thing they're on PDF). The twelve plus hour days don't help matters much.
However, I believe that I can do this game, so, if you don't mind, I want you to bear with me. My posts will seem to be almost random, but, I promise, I will advance the adventure daily.
Nameless, I'm sorry to see you go. It would've been great to play with you; hopefully, in the future, we can be at the same metaphorical table.
I'm not adding any more players to this game at the moment; we currently have five, with a sixth joining soon.
I'm going to try to get the first post of the game done tonight. If not, expect it around this time tomorrow.
Everyone, your characters look great, and I look forward to playing with all of you.

All right, finished the first post. If the speeches look familiar, it's because it's right from this site. I'll give proper due when I can find the post again.
I posted little snippets of what you're doing in town. If you think I'm being a bit presumptious, then tell me, and we can alter it for you.
EDIT: Here it is. And, by the way, thank you, Smashthedean, for being awesome.

Talion09 |

I'm going to wait for a bit longer for everyone to post. Unless you guys want me to fast forward to the combat, or something.
I'm a big fan of kicking it off with some action, but then again, I have no idea how the adventure is supposed to start. (I've studiously ignored the adventure portion Pathfinder #1)

Valegrim |

well, doesnt matter to me either way; am interested in this theater production and might suggest to the druid we get tickets, am not sure what you have in mind as the thing that will get us grouped.
I would guess you are waiting to hear what everyone is doing so that you can make an event happen and know where everyone is to have thing react accordinly; that is what I would want so there are no missunderstanding like; no, I was in the smithy not on the street and stuff like that.
fighting action; hehe most of us can be killed in a hit or two; sounds exciting.

![]() |

well, I have been avoiding trying to find out anything about the town other than through roleplay so I dont really know where we could go other than what was mentioned in the speach; to the sherifs office; the cathedral, and the theater.
Aight. If you won't come to it, then it'll come to you... in a few hours.

![]() |

:) k; was just saying I dont know the town; Is it ok to look at the map and become familiar with it; that sort of thing takes gm persmission around here so wanted to avoid it until you gave your thoughts on it.
Should I have a problem with it?
Go ahead and look at the map. Heck, if you want, look at the Sandpoint article, if you think you can seperate player knowledge from character knowledge.

Valegrim |

k; just wondering; some people have all different ways of doing this; I just carry some dice in my pocket :)
this game doesnt seem to be moving much at all, thought we would be doing a little more. Are you guys still interested in playing; some of you havent posted for your characters hardly at all...

Actually, that's my fault; I've been busy, so I've only been able to post little by little.

![]() |

well, you post quite a bit so at least we know your around Sect; we understand your bived out in Araby somewhere; just thought there would be more player chat, you know, excitement and interplay.
Yeah, I get you. Trust me, it's MUCH easier to post a quick, snarky comment than it is to...
... Anyways, I got some update here, so we'll finish this bout of rp, then fast forward to the action; I wanted to get you guys involved in the town, but, quite frankly, that works much better in a face to face environment than PbP. A failed experiment on my part, but, hey, learned new things.

Sect, no worries about the "failed experiment" on my end. I didn't mind the slow progression through town, I figured you'd throw us together somehow.

Hey everyone, I'm back from my trip and ready to join in. I've just read through the posts so far. Looks awesome and it seems like I didn't miss much at all, so I was thinking I'd just join in as the action starts and we can go from there. Is that OK Sect?
I can make a post in the game tomorrow if you like just to get Amarantha in on the scene, and then we can start with the action. I'd do it now but I'm about to head home from work so I won't get your response till tomorrow morning. My intrent at home has died, of course just when I was about to start a PBP, but I have plenty of time at work to post ;)

No problem. I'm an incredibly slow updater when it comes to running these things, apparantly. I have an idea for you, and you'll arrive just as the action begins.

Emerges from the pits of Soll'ras, the Hell of Eternity, from whence the bat-winged Sorrow of Thrak'k'kil will, one dark day, rise up to sing his horrifying song from his five ravenous mouths.
ROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Shakes off the soot and inferno.
SOrry. Anyways, I'm back. Rough coupl'a days. In any case, I'll post the responses tonight: Solleron first, then Elegost, then Jallia/Farevon. Zakok is pretty much done with, I guess, and Paladin whose name escapes me will pop into play at lunchtime.
