Cool French police movie - don't know what the English title is, though it is probably something along the lines of "the red rivers". Highly recommended!

P.S. I saw "The Crimson Rivers" (what the English subtitle called it; I didn't dare watch it without because Jean Reno sometimes mumbles), and thought it was interesting, but not enough to watch again. Then again, it was a lot better than "Wasabi," so I guess I've no cause for complaint!
Had to think a bit about this one, but I think that

Fine, fine movie, based on a fine, fine book. The crimson rivers might not be the world's most original movie, but I love the setting and camerawork - all those gorgeous mountains and glaciers. Eye candy....

The Green Mile. My favorite film of all time.
Well done, you guys! L.A. Confidential is one of my all-time favorites (sorry, Shiny, even better than Green Mile, although my wife would scold me for saying so). James Cromwell is awesome. Unfortunately, I have to pass this time; I have no recollection of where else I've seen that Pepper dude.

Sorry, your hints didn't help at all; I avoid Vin Diesel like the plague (although Forrest Whittaker is great... but I can't think of a SciFi movie with him in it! Blast!) But I looked up Barry's celebrity photo, and he looks an awful lot like that idiot border patrol kid in "The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada," with Tommy Lee Jones (which I really enjoyed). I might be wrong, though; a lot of young actors look alike to me for some reason.

Wait... if I was right about "Melchiades," the we're on Tommy Lee, not Phillip Semour.
Kirth Gersen wrote: Wait... if I was right about "Melchiades," the we're on Tommy Lee, not Phillip Semour. Tommy Lee?? I thought the only movie he's been in was that Pamela Anderson 'home movie' thing...
What about playing the comic relief in that EPIC three-anna-half-minute short film (nominated for an best supporting actor Oscar), "Too Young To Fall In Love"?
