Gentlemen (and ladies), select your back issues!

Now is the time to select your issues! You can choose from a large selection of issues of both magazines in print and PDF form, as well as issues of Star Wars Insider, Star Wars Gamer, Amazing Stories, and Undefeated magazines.

Just head on over to http://paizo.com/transition, and reconfirm your decision to select back issues by clicking "Save Changes" at the bottom of the page. You'll be taken to the back issue selection page. (Once you get there, you might want to start by clicking the "Auto Fill" button, which will suggest available issues that you haven't received as part of a recent subscription.)

If you decide that you'd prefer a different transition option (volumes of Pathfinder, store credit, or a refund check), just go back to http://paizo.com/transition and choose that option instead.

After you've chosen the issues you'd like, click "Save Changes," and select a shipping address. Confirm that you've selected the issues you want, then click "Place Order." (At this point, your order will be finalized, and you'll no longer be able to choose a different transition option.) We'll ship your issues in 3 to 5 business days.

Ok, so ... quick question.

I selected all print issues of dragon. Even double checked so I didn't acidentally pick a PDF.

So, in my final invoice, Dragon Issue #323 says Printed Issue, the rest don't say Printed Issue. I know I picked all my selections from Printed Issue ... please don't tell me I somehow got 1 Printed Issue and 4 PDFs!!!

Thanks

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

If it's a PDF it'll say PDF.

We only add "printed issue" to the product name if there's also a PDF so it's clear which one you're getting.

[edit] Also, just to be double-triple-absolutely sure, I checked your order. They're all printed copies. All actual physical molecular structures there, real matter, not an electron or byte or bit to be seen.

Nope, no PDFS! While issues may or may not have the tag "Printed Issue", PDFs will always have the tag PDF.

Thanks,

Fanttastic - thanks!!! You guys really are the best. I know it gets said a lot, but it needs said yet again.

Speaking of the best, I have to say the method of picking the back orders was very slick and well done. Couldn't have asked for a better system.

My only REAL complaint was that I had made a list of 10 or 12 issues I needed and wanted so that when the list of available issues was released, I could jump in and start picking right away. Imagine my delight when I saw almost every one of the issues I wanted was available to choose from ... and then imagine my dismay when I realized I now had to narrow down my list to the 5 back issues I actually had coming to me!

Thanks again for making this process so painless (other than the fact that this all is happening because Dragon is going away, which is ANYTHING but painless!)

Also wanted to chip in with a thanks. I was able to fill in 9 empty spots from my shelf from when my issues 309 to 334 were stolen. Unfortunately, numerically I'll have a gap as I couldn't get 326. It makes the numerically obsessive-compulsive side of me twitch, but other than that I'm a happy camper.

<sigh>

We've just discovered a bug in our software which causes the system to ignore any subscriptions that would have started after either Dungeon #150 or Dragon #359.

If you have subscriptions that fall under that category, please hold off on making your back issue selection until I've posted here that the bug has been fixed.

Is that bug why it hasn't said I'm a Dungeon and Dragon subscriber next to my name over the last year?

No, I don't think so.

From what I can see by looking at the My Subscriptions section of your account, it appears that your Dungeon and Dragon subscriptionas are listing normally.

If you are not seeing them there, please send me an email to customer.service@paizo.com with a description of what you do see in your My Subscriptions section. We can figure it out from there.

Thanks,
cos

I think he's asking why 'Dungeon Subscriber' and 'Dragon Subscriber' aren't showing up next to his avatar name here on the boards, Cos.

The Spinner is correct. Not having the subscriber tag is like walking with a bare forehead through a land where all wear scarlet letters on their faces and I curse you all for it!

My subscriptions say that my final issues have shipped. Am I going to come up one issue light on my Dragon subscription?

Issue #358 shipped 07/03/07
Final Issue: #358

Issue #150 shipped 07/24/07
Final Issue: #150

Umm.. oh yeah... I knew that.

The Dungeon and Dragon Magazine subscriber tag will only show up when you post in the Dungeon Magazine forum or the Dragon Magazine forum. Only the Pathfinder and GameMastery subscriber tags show up universally.

Unfortunately, that is the case. Your Dragon subscription expired with issue #358. You'll have to pick up the Final Dragon, #359, either locally or as a back issue (it's not available for preorder, yet, but it will be soon).

cos

How unsatisfying. I really wanted to get that last issue of Dragon in the mail when everyone else did.

A question: How long will Dragon back issues be available through Paizo? I'd like to round out the rest of the stuff I'm missing.

Wizards has allowed us to continue offering all of our remaining stock, so we've got 'em until they're gone.

What about PDFs? Will Paizo continue to have a license to sell those?

For the foreseeable future.

I se;ected all the back issues I wanted, both PDF and hard print and am quite pleased with the results of the PDf files. I will still very much miss seeing the magazines showing up in the mail every month, but I am certain I will survive.

I might even commit myself to doing the Pathfinder series, eventually.

I have to get my self out of a small group of big financial boo-boos first, though. Wish me luck.

I too would just like to say a big thank you to all of the wonderful help Paizo has given me.

awhile back i called CosServ to find out when i could start at least looking at which back issues were available via the back issue transition option, and I must say the woman on the phone was both extremely helpful and incredibly pleasant.

also,
I had a very easy time picking out my issues, getting all the ones i desired, more or less.

one little problem:

on some of the links, when u click to see more info about the issue, it takes you to the big list of back issues, oft times not even including the issue I'm wanting more info on(ie looking for info on say 209, and being directed to the 350 range of issues.)

just wanted to give you guys a heads up, not sure if i was the only one this happened to or not.

We're not quite sure why this happens sometimes—it only seems to affect specific urls for magazine issues—but when you get redirected to the wrong page, just reloading the page once or twice will usually get you to the right page.

Just wondering if I missed something. I'm assuming everyone who chose back issuses for their remaining Dungeon subscription issues has to pay shipping? I saw the "Promotional Code" box and was wondering if I missed what I needed to enter there to avoid shipping costs. Thanks.

I'll repost this here as I didn't catch that you had responded to my earlier question.

OK, so on order #771938 I tried to use my remaining Dungeon subscription issues for two back issues, and I entered them as my choices, however, it charged me for both issues and shipping. I goofed and accepted charges. Can I have my order cancelled and re-entered with the transition issues and not be charged anything? Thanks in advance!

Paizo Employee Senior Software Developer

RedRobe, I've cancelled your order. To get your back issues with free shipping, go to the Transition Page, make sure "Back Issues" is selected, then click the "Save Changes" button. You'll be taken to a page where you can select the issues you want.
