Quiet, all are sleeping. Nearly silent hum of my custom cooled tower.

Just logged off of a wicked CS server.

A glass of 17 yr. old Balvenie on the rocks.

A 17 yr old cheerleader...

... oops, just a daydream.

Called an old manager of mine and presented an idea to start a consulting company and he was excited enough that we are meeting Monday to discuss.

May the best things happen!

Shamgar: Good luck!

Good things:

Met an old buddy on the early bus today and had a good conversation

Starbucks Soy Vanilla Latte running through my veins

I get to go drinking with the little brother tonight at our pub! (Where the bartender knows our names... *happy sigh*)

Taking my dad to see Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer this weekend, and he's happy like a little kid in a toy store. :D

Woo HOoo!!! campings fun!!!

Me I'm getting paid to take a bunch of kids surfing today. It's sunny the surf is 1-3 feet and I get paid for this.

Then I get to have dinner with just the most wonderful women in the world.

AAAAHHHH Life good.

The San Antonio Spurs won the NBA Championship last night. I am taking the whole family down to watch the victory parade and celebration on Sunday.

Finally home. Going to bed. Sadly, not much else right now. :(

My wife.

Weekend over.
Less than good Father's day over.
Watching my boy learn to swim and fish.

my 3 year old got to ride for 10 minutes in an honest to goodness real helicopter this weekend. The father in law for the wedding we went to owns one and has a pilot's license. He offered to take Bryce up in the two seater and away they went. A terrifying but utterly cool moment as a parent as I jealously watched. :)

Then he was the ring bearer for the wedding and looked oh, so cute.

Then the next day he went swimming, fishing, and boating all day.

He, at least, had a great weekend.

I just stumbled across this. While I did already post my ecstatic hissy fit in the Neil Gaiman thread, I thought it belongs here as well since it just brightened my whole week.

:D

- Voxtrot concert on Friday = best show I've seen in a year at least.

- Applied for two jobs, checking my email neurotically in the hopes of hearing back.

- Ordered Lords of Madness and Heroes of Horror for a campaign that will probably never happen, but one that I want to plan anyways. Awaiting the critical hit deck I ordered last week.

- Hopefully will start playing on a weekly basis next month.

- Making art and stuff.

In fact, I'm having a geek moment too.

2. Turkey pretzel roll with barbecue sauce. mmm.
3. little bits of free money here and there
4. PbP going very well thus far

gorgeous weather
the bruising on my ribs has healed enough to where it no longer hurts to breathe (trying to decide what to do with the expensive dress responsible for the damage in the first place. contemplating some satisfying ideas involving scissors that I probably won't go through with)
unexpected writing time last night
happy little boy pretending to be a pirate this morning. There's something so adorably cute about someone who hasn't yet mastered the 'r' sound trying to say 'Arrr!'

I saw some kid on the bus last night (who looked like he was about 12 friggin' years old!) wearing an Exploited t-shirt. Made me all nostalgic, so I dug out my old "Apocalypse '77" CD, and now I'm inflicting it on everyone near my desk here at Paizo.

Good stuff. :)

Back from camping. Cracked my head open on a rock,(nothing like trying to post on painkillers) got third degree burns on my fingers, and my seven year old threw up all the way home. I'd do it all again next weekend if I could :)

Lena: sounds...interesting...and I would suspect typical. :)

GT: Got paid $195 to talk on the phone for 38 minutes. Woot! (hold your snide remarks please. :)

This is a good thing--my niece, due to a very rare type of dopamine deficiency, never developed her muscles and was never able to walk. About a year ago, doctors at the Mayo Clinic were able to diagnose her and developed a special pill just for her. The positive results were instantly noticeable. Now, one year later, she is the Children's Miracle Network child for the state of Missouri, and she just underwent a surgery to re-set her hips in such a way that she WILL be able to walk after she heals up. She is almost nine years old, and has never wanted anything more than the ability to walk, and now it looks like she will get her wish.

Despite the stress at work I have Co workers and Bosses that give a shit about the rest of the team.

Despite working retail, the boss always gives me Monday nights off to Play D&D

I'm Going to my First Gen Con this year, with my Husband

It's unhealthy to hold things in you know. Too many snide remarks bottled up inside can cause serious damage. C'mom Heathy, let it out! You know you want to ;)

Kikai, that is so wonderful! I pray everything your niece ever dreamed of comes true for her.

Reading this just became my Good Thing for the day. Thanks!

:)

After losing a filling on the weekend, I went to the dentist today and it no longer hurts to eat! (Although I will try to avoid eating in the left side of my mouth for a few days.)

Speaking of Snide-r (bad segue pun!)Check out the bands. Im only going Sunday, but DAMN! Anybody else going?

(Not anything close to Kikai13's news. That IS amazing!)

I had my first experience caring for horses today, three of them and just lil ol' me. I'll be staying here at the stables until Saturday night as a favor to a friend. Each of these divine equines stands as big as Shaq but they all behaved like half-ton kitty cats. Not only was I not crushed to death, two of them gave me extensive kisses and licks. I was afraid I tasted good to them. If I don't check in tomorrow, my Good Things to report is over, way over. Jade=horse kibble.

I've always wanted to get this close and in-depth. It's a great experience that could have easily never come my way.

Had a fun red hand of doom session tonight with two of my favorite people. :)

This Saturday, I get to take the most wonderful woman surfing, then dinner at Longies, then..., yeaaah. Then on Sunday I get to meet my boys and play some savage tide. Yeaah life is good.

Lucky for me there's a guy who comes in the morning to shovel away the scat. I get the fun work.

Sounds like you're going to have a killer weekend.

Holy hairbands Batman! That sounds like my early years all rolled into one weekend.

Oooh neat! I love love love horse and, unfortunately, I don't have the funds to be around them very often. Too poor to ride, too poor to have cool relatives that ride, too poor to know people with horses...

Oh well. I have cats and am getting a new puppy soon.

There are two horses in my fields, one is pregnant. They do belong to my sister in law, but I get to watch them out my windows all day long and my kids can ride if they'd like.

OK, here goes:
Seeing a new OotS page.
Getting a new Dragon magazine.
Eating some of that great Swedish chocolate(it's way better than hersheys!!!)

I hear that. Cats and dogs are fun though too, and if you starve yourself a bit, and get a big breed puppy, you may be able to ride it, especially if you train your stronger cats to walk under your feet while your saddled on the dog. They act as footbearers and help keep some of the weight of the pup's spine. Try it. You'll be glad ya did.

The three toothed smile of my 8-month old daughter as she lays on my chest and looks at me, and five year old daughter running to the door screaming, "Daddy".

MOCCA festival in NYC tomorrow, where I will be marketing my ludicrous portfolio. I typically despise conventions (I'm actually kind of shy in person and having all those people around in one place, some of them sitting at booths staring at you expectedly makes me nervous) but I'm going for business, so I'm hoping this will go over well.

That's neat. I haven't ridden a horse since I was 19. I always felt guilty in the saddle, figuring that at the halfway point I should share the burden and put the horse on my back, then carry her back to the stable, whinnying all the way. I've always had some pathological need to share responsibility.

Your portfolio is ludicrous. That's what's right with it. First time I saw it I laughed aloud at one of the pictures and sent the link to a friend. I did the same with your "art school confidential" type post where you broke down your experiences at art school. Most art I just look at and say, "Yep, that's art" but your art, and the wit and viewpoint that fuel it, clearly have the interest of the people.

Do well, Jimmy James.
