My PC with the smoking eye template is planning on returning to occipitus within a couple of sessions. Of course I want to make her visit as interesting as possible, and want to pump you guys for some ideas.
A couple of things I was thinking about:
Kaurophon In my game Kaurophon managed to get away. Well, actually, my PCs let him go after they returned to Cauldron. So I want to make him return to AP at some point. I decided to make him one of the cagewright’s apprentices – to Fetor Abradius (I’m using delvedeeps 6 apprentices /6 masters and one leader idea). I also think it would be cool if Kaurophon managed to return to occipitus and passed the test of the smoking eye. This should have some sort of effect on the plane. Maybe some of the places are more demon-friendly, or more sinister…
Adimarchus’ madness The madness should be more pronounced op Occipitus than when the party first arrived there. I’m not sure how this would affect Occipitus. Perhaps a cacophony of sound. Shadows of Adimarchus’ wails can be heard on occipitus, perhaps eminating from the plasma flow. I think this should have some sort of effect on whoever stays on occipitus for too long. Maybe something to do with betrayal or treachery. I think I could use some sort of trick for this, such as passing notes to the players that says there is a traitor amongst you, a doppelganger. Trust no-one”. I’m not sure how to implement this yet.
The PC’s alignment This pc is a NG cleric of Pelor. I’m not sure how the plane is going to react to that. Perhaps some of the cysts erupt to reveal a still living (but unconscious) celestial. More celestials now roam Occipitus. They gather close to the cathedral of feathers, but stirk out from there, fighting and purifying the taint wereever they find it. Meanwhile they seek a way to return to celestia.
anyway, thoughts, comments, sugestions?

This pc is a NG cleric of Pelor.
If the Cleric is the only Smoking eye template, I would have certain side effects of him being on the plane such as:
When the player walks, grass grows in his footsteps. When the player prays for spells, the sun peeks up over the mountains before be hidden again by the plasms.
When the Player casts a spell, the sun peeks through the plasms.
The Plane is under the control of the player unconsciously. As the player is present and "A" is not, I would have the players will override "A" to some extent.
Now here is the rub, any other smoking eye can over ride the player.
Now that Kaurophon knows how, he can just find a friend, plane shift there and gain the smoking eye. Now, he is in control.
The player walks and grass grows in his footprints, only to be devoured by demonic flies leaving behind cracked and blackened earth.
Kaurophon goal is to be ruler of the plane. Once he has it, I wouldn't let the players walk around Occipitus without a challenge. but then I'll be useing the expanded smoking eye template that grants extra powers on Occipitus and when in the eye.

In my game, I want to make Kaurophon one of the cagewrights. He'll be an apprentice to Fetor, allthough the relationship between the two is far from what you would call warm.
I like your ideas, and I'm interested in the expanded smoking eye template. Where can I find more info on it?

Our new Lord of Occipitus is trying to get things to grow there. Rain seems to be a necessary first step. So far she has produced rains of fire and rains of blood, but actual water seems more challenging....
The PCs used Commune to find who else might fancy themselves Lord of Occipitus and she is hunting those folks down one by one. The first one was a marilith, and had to be killed twice, once on the Prime and once in the Chamber of the Eye. (The other PCs said, "You know, that's the one place that *you* can be killed--you're sure you want to do this?") They know the next one is an angel, though, and this is causing more dissension.
The PCs actually use Occipitus as their point of retreat (three of them can Planeshift). They're quite aware of the dark implications: supposedly they are heroes, but they flee to the Abyss when threatened?!
I think the next arc there will be another set of tests, trying to reach the Wishing Well in the Ossaic Forest where Sauraya is hanging out. Whether the PC will then try to kill him or talk to him is hard to predict.

We just finished Test of the Smoking Eye and it looks like the group will be returning to Occipitus to plunder its riches and work on becoming more powerful. I'm starting to brainstorm ideas.
1) The tremor zones on Occipitus are caused by massive flatworms slowly eating the flesh. That means there are 5 of them. I am looking at using purple worms as a starting point.
2) Getting Saureya to have hope again will be a major task. Through him, the group can start to research how to separate the demon and the angelic halves that caused the rip in reality, causing the plasma in the skull.
3) Practicing morphic changes. This just begs for an amusing time.
4) In my campaign, the new ruler of Occipitus is Cora Lathenmire. I don't have any directions yet from the player on what they plan on doing. She is not really a religious person, so some of the other great ideas don't really apply.
5) A delegation from the Abyss shows up, welcoming the new ruler.
I am leaving open the possibility of having Occipitus be a base of operations for the campaign continuing past SCAP chap 12. I can see an epic-level Planescape campaign being possible.
