Pathfinder Campaign Setting

Dungeon Magazine General Discussion

Does Paizo have any plans to publish a Pathfinder Campaign Setting? Or is the current plan to just write the adventure paths and let the DMs convert them to GH, FR, Eb, or whichever setting they prefer? Personally, I haven't even read a single issue of Pathfinder and I'm already partial to the idea of switching to the campaign setting exclusively. F$$! wizards.

I feel the same way!

I expect that conversion will be reasonably straightforward.

That is our goal—it should be similar to the process of converting previous Adventure Paths to any given setting.

We're early in the process of contemplating a standalone setting book.

From the heart : Good Luck on "Pathfinder", this is a sad day to know "Dungeon" is going to the elephant graveyard.

To be honest, I think I'd prefer the setting to evolve as the Paths come out rather than trying to set it all in concrete at the start.

Not only would it be less restrictive for future writers, but it would give every inch of this new world a purpose.

My vote is for no setting book per se, but in depth gazeteers of the locations and cultural elements featured in each Pathfinder volume.

After each series maybe there could be a release of all the world info presented combined in one volume. That way, a group that doesn't run PF1 could start PF2 and have a book available to them that explains what has come before.

Does any of that make sense?
