Plane Shift into Kyuss's Monolith???

Age of Worms Adventure Path

Is this even possible? My PCs have been kicking around some crazy ideas for how they will stop Kyuss once they kill Dragotha (they presume the monolith is still in his lair, but are actively concocting a way to fight Kyuss once his "defender" is out of the way.) I know that the monolith won't be there, but this may not stop them from trying this idea after they've beaten Kyuss's Herald. I have no idea how Manzorian would respond to this idea. I presume fighting a god on his "homeplane", even a prison, would be akin to suicide. Then again, maybe he's been in a state of weakness since being entrapped in the monolith and needs to escape to unleash his power.
I know they would still need a planar focus, but that probably wouldn't stop them from divining the prerequisite material component.
Finally, the Broodfiends are extraplanar in nature, but from where? Kyuss's prison? They look very far-realm-esque, which would support my theory that the Age of Worms is a spellweaver plot to co-join the Far-Realm and material plane, eroding the tangible laws of life and death...

You cannot plane shift into Kyuss's prison. Think of it this way; it's strong enough to keep a deity from getting out. Which means it's easily strong enough to keep mortals from getting in.

As for the broodfiends, they're from Hades, if I remember my internal monologue about them from earlier in the year when I was working on them.

Let em do it! It'll be a well deserved TPK

Yeah, anyone stupid enough to do this deserves to die. I suggest you allow it, with the following effects:

1) There is no possible way out. If Kyuss can't miracle/wish himself out, there no reason the PCs should be able to leave.

2) Automatic energy drain as the energy drain spell every round.

3) Kyuss automatically engulfs all creatures in the monolith.

4) They die a horrible wormy death and are reborn as favored spawn.

5) Once Kyuss emerges, he has even more allies now!

I agree with dungeonblaster, who also hit on all of my recommendations for the repercussions of such an act. I'd allow them to do it - just because something is great at keeping people (or demigods) in, doesn't make it necessarily good at keeping people out.

I was mainly wondering if it was even a plausible...Seems my PCs are crazy enough to think out any possibility, and now I have an answer for divinations. I assumed it would be bad... BTW, are there reprucussions for actually physically touching the monolith? I was thinking of something like 2d4 negative levels per round of touching..

Didn't the energy of the monolith convert creatures into kyuss knights? You might consider including that when they touch the monolith. Also, a save for "visions of the worm" might be appropriate.
