How important is the stuff in Dragon #348?

I am running STAP in FR, and I have the players guide, the conversion notes, and all the online extras from Dungeon (as well as the subscription to the mag itself, of course). The only piece of the puzzle I'm missing is Dragon #348 with it's "Savage Tidings" article.

In all honesty, do those of you who do have it think it's worth the $8 for me to get it, or is there not much there that I don't already have somewhere else, or could easily do without?

Opinions please!

Basically it's nothing but affiliation information. I think it adds flavor, but if you don't want to use affiliations you don't really need to get it.

Just FYI, every issue of Dragon starting w/ 348 will have a Savage Tidings article in it. Any yes they are quite good, and informative... but definatly not required.

thanks much for the info guys.

Also you have to be careful with giving all the Savage Tidings articles out to the players without restriction. It can lead to a lot of metagaming. For instance the 2nd article deals with the lands around Sasserine. If you have a character that just arrived in the city why would he know all this? Theres the table on Knowledge checks for the Crimson Fleet... but why give that to the players. They can get all the info without making a roll.

Just because its in Dragon, don't assume the players can just take it whole cloth. Parcel out the info to those its appropriate to.

While I agree, some of the Savage Tidings are excellent and really shouldn't be passed up. I particularly agree (with an earlier post) that you can do without affiliations from Dragon 348.

But then how do you say no to the article (and art) of Vecna?!?
