Mile High Comics is all you need my friend. Go on, use the Search Engine.

If you're in Las Vegas, visit Alternate Reality Comics and say Hi to Ralf. His store is the comic book mecca of Nevada.

you know; as lame as this is; I STILL do not have Thor #2; every week the comic store says not yet; man am I peeved, just not ready to do the internet thing yet.

Scarab Sages

I love the new Thor so far!
It looks really cool. D Blake for the win!

Thor to Iron Man after the beating he gives the Golden Avenger:

"Give your orders and ultimatums to those who choose to obey, or are too cowardly to fight, not to me. Or learn again the difference between a God of Thunder and a mortal man in a metal suit."

Oh and they finally let Ultimate Thor unlease. In Ultimate Power #7 he beat down Hyperion and Power Princess after getting embrassed by Hyperion in the previous issue.

It was a good week to be a God of Thunder.

hehe luckily I just got my issues number 2 and 3 and am up on the story before your spoiler. The art has been great and the story is way cool; like that they are giving old goldilocks his due.

Am really looking forward to the next issue not that I am current as of Friday; FINALLY!.

Yeah, #3 really kicks ass (literally)!

It was good to see someone appear and remind Mr. Stark that just because he is a genius that has managed to get in on the ground floor of the Registration Act and (supposedly) deciphered Spider-Man's spider-sense that there are still some things in the world he isn't ready to handle (besides the Hulk, of course). Considering Iron Man's one good shot barely phased Thor, who promptly used Iron Man as a ball for a game of croquet, it was good times all around (except for Iron Man, who needs a reality check anyway).

yeah; he pimped Starky boy; am wondering what their next conversation about the genetics thing is gonna be like :) and the threat of a world wide storm made me remember Thor's old battle with Ego the living planet in which Thor caused massive worldwide extreme storms to defeat Ego and a comment in a comic of Thor being the only one not impressed by Storm of the Xmen using a rainstorm to put out a fire as if he was bored and let her do it but could snuff out her ability in the wink of an eye. This comic has really tread upon the path that we really dont know entirely what Thor is capable of and I am looking forward to this series; and I am wondering if the other dieties he gathers will take a bigger than a bit part in the story and how they will be portrayed as different from before.

I just want to see Thor join the Luke Cage group of Avengers, with all of his Godly friends... Thor vs Ares would be interesting, as would Thor vs Sentry.

Thor has already told Stark (Iron Man) that he is neutral on the Registration matter and I'm assuming that means he has no interest in any team at this time, especially any team with Stark on it.

Besides, I don't think Marvel would put Thor with the "New Avengers". This is only my opinion but the New Avengers are more like the Stealth Avengers. If you look at their storylines since Civil War they have been dealing with threats like the Hand in Japan or The Hoods takeover of the Kingpin's empire.

Bring Thor into the mix and just how long would it take him to go thru 100 ninjas or a couple of B level villians?

I suspect that after next years Secert Invasion the two teams membership will get mixed up and old goldilocks will rejoin the Avengers and be on Caps team.

Yea I said it, Captain America will be back next year and we will find out Nick Fury (who has been in hiding the last few years) somehow saved Cap and that after Nick explains how the how Registration process was Tony's idea to prepare for the invasion then all will be forgiven.

Well, my take was that he said he is neutral at the moment, but the way I see it when he looks up Stark to punish him for his betrayal, that Stark wont be alone; and others might jump in to back the thunder god and get a little payback. Always been a Luke Cage fan and that seems a streetsmart kind of thing for him to do.

I have been wondering if anyone is going to start squatting on the land that Thor purchased and ask for asylum and such, some interesting characters doing this would give a nice spin.

That, or they'll ret-con it and say it wasn't actually Tony, it was a SKRULL behind the dastardly Registration Act. Tony has actually been working behind the scenes or was captured or something.

Or they'll use some kind of time travel to bring a version of Tony Stark from right before he went bonkers to the present after the current "evil" Tony dies. Nah, they'd never do something so cheesy. ;-)

*But I do like the idea of the Registration Act setting the groundwork for the next time Earth is invaded by Aliens. Then it actually makes sense to have Avengers in say... Ohio.

** Of course, the Initiative teams don't seem to be doing too well against the Hulk Invasion, but then again, no one else is either.

yeah, the list of people who have actually beaten the Hulk is pretty short; Thor, of course, being one of them. Dr. Strange being another...

The one thing I do like about this idea, since we are uncovering a skrull invasion currently.. the Civil war got everyone uncomfortable with each other to the point that they will be more on guard when the skrulls attack from disguised as superheroes... but who else is a skrull? I don't read the X books, so how many muties mysteriously got their powers back recently? the skrull have been away for a while (since the one shot new avengers given to servicemen overseas I believe) so they might not be aware of the house of M debacle

well; doc samson had help; i mean alone; spiderman has both won and lost; the captain universe power helped too, but then webhead has fought with and against nearly everybody, SS is a galactic powerhouse that few are in a class with; sure the celestials could beat hulk as well as probably lots of others; they just dont hang out on earth or care and i didnt read the Abomination one...and I mean green hulk before all this grey hulk stuff in case that comes up.
I dont know anyone who has stood toe to toe with him more than Thor and I love how he calls him a troll :)

so; how did Apocolypse do it; was it the horsemen too; what was his angle as i missed that too?

Check out Hulk No. 456. Apocalypse basically decided to make Hulk his new Horsemen of War to prepare for Onslaught and beat him into submission.

So to test out his new creation Apocalypse had Hulk (war) fight the Juggernaut. Of course Hulk eventually broke free of the mind control and escaped.

cool; have seen hulk fight juggy a few times :)

READ THOR #3

By far the greatest story ever! Well not really, but it something Thor fans who read Civil War were waiting for....

THOR VS IRON MAN!!!

The writer have Thor down pat, and stupid Tony tries to give Thor the same speech he gave Nova a while back. Needless to say

Thor knows about what happened during Civil War.

Read it and love it, I know I did.

Cool; how did Nova respond? I missed that and have always been a Nova fan from way back; Nova and even back when he was Kid Nova; was always a bit brash and never afraid to buck the system and is a trained warrior; and his nova blast really got upped in power, am curious how he responded.

#3 was awesome! Unfortunately, I missed #2.

I haven't been this excited about Thor since the Walter Simonson days.

Well as long as Bendis is in charge of the Avenger titles Thor will not appear as a member. Bendis really hates Thor for some reason? Bendis has even gone as far as to say that Thor could not beat Sentry or new powered up Ares in battle(which of course I disagree with on so many levels), however Thor is scheduled to make an apperance in the Avengers late 2008 and according to Bendis Thor would learn what it is to face a god of war in battle.

Sounds like Bendis is going to grind a personal axe aganist the Prince of Asgard and I guess he seems to want to over look the humilation of Ares one punch knock by the Hulk in WWH #2.

Didn't Bendis write Ultimates? I don't have my TPBs handy... Thor rocked in that series.

No, the following writers worked on Ultimates

The Ultimates are a fictional comic book team of government-sponsored superheroes in the Ultimate Marvel Universe who appear in their self-titled limited series, and in various related spinoff miniseries. The team is a re-imagining of the Marvel Universe superhero team, the Avengers.

The first series, written by Mark Millar and illustrated by Bryan Hitch, ended in April 2004. The second series, The Ultimates 2, also by Millar and Hitch, began in December 2004 and was completed in May 2007. A third series will be written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by Joe Madureira, starting around December 2007. Loeb has also indicated in an interview that he will be writing The Ultimates 4 as well.

Ultimate Thor has come a long way and for the better, but I'm still upset when the X-men's Colossus beat Thor in the big Ultimates v. X-men fight in Ultimate War.

I was starting to get worried when Hyperion ripped Thor's hammer from his grasp but the big T finally got some respect when he beat down Hyperion and Power Princess in the next issue.

Nova told Stark he'd think about it, then eventually decided to take off to space. Check out the Annihilation Saga for his further adventures.

Nova was one of my favorite characters when I was a kid. The kids in my neighborhood used to pass issues of his book around, and anxiously awaited the next month's issue. If you like the character, you should check out his original series. Excellent art and underrated storytelling (especially the last part of the run). The issues aren't very expensive, and should be available at most internet comic sites.

As for "Kid Nova", boy was that a slap in the face! When Marvel launched the New Warriors back in the 90s, they wanted to recreate Nova, so they basically pretended his series from the 80s never happened and christened him with the "Kid" moniker. Eventually, they caved in to reader response and let him revert to just plain Nova, and once again acknowledged his past. In fact, I think the "Kid" was dropped after the first 3 issues of the series.

I hear ya!

It's relatively sophisticated, in it's mythological/philosophical/psychological take on the icon.
Plenty surreal for me, plus Tony Stark gets kicked around!

Can't wait for issue 4!

Thanks for the response; am a Nova fan too; and read the New Warriors and have the set; I know Nova has been a long time friend of Spiderman so was curious. I really liked his interplay with Namorita.

wow; am shocked; I like Colosuss a lot, but he is not in Thor's fighting class; and Power Princess give me a break; Hyperion could go a few rounds until Thor shifts into high gear; then its all over.

Mars has been pimped around by everyone and he seems to loose to everyone and has been a kicking toy for everyone in the last few decades; Thor is a war god also (his sister was really the weather diety), but has gotten more repect; hate to see Thor get wupped by Mars; I think their fight should be a toe to toe standstill with no winner.

really want to read number 4; wonder what issue his is gonna find Sif :)

anyone know when the next issue comes out; must be soon...

Thor #4 comes out November 14...

and then #5 will be out one weel later on Nov. 21. Of course they way Marvel has been lately don't be surprised if that gets pushed back.

By the way in the back of Avengers Classic #5 they had a short story of Captain America and Bucky in WWII (using a gun) trying to help a squad of soilders survive an attack by large wolf that is tearing them apart.
Turns out its Fenris and Thor appears to muzzle the hound and take him back to Asgard all in front of stunned Cap. Pretty cool!!!

nice; thanks for sharing, Lord Vile, I had forgotten all about that scene.

Jeez, still two weeks to go till the next Thor comic; this sucks...

Sigh, 8 more days until next Thor is out.

Spolsport. Eric was cool in the 'new hero getting a hold of his powers' story. To me he always seemed to be the 'over my head, but doing the best I can kind of guy.'

Plus he was left handed, and that in and of itself makes him cool

The time that Eric held the mantel of Thor was perhaps the worse run of Thor I ever had to endure, even worse then when Thor was turned into a frog!!! I was so disappointed by that disgrace I was rooting for Bloodaxe to finsh Thunderstrikes thanfully short career.

As they say "some things are best forgotten".

Uh no. I haven't gotten around to issues 2 and 3. However, I do like the idea of a Godly realm in Nebraska and I liked how ticked-off THor got when he found out Tony had him cloned.

Tony, your Initiative stinks.
