The Keep of Jarl Khurok - is it in the adventure path? If not any suggestions/how did you deal with it?

It's an adventure hook. There is no information in the SCAP about it other than that it was the focus of giantish power in the region before a group of adventurers broke in and killed the Jarl and looted the treasure.

I'm adapting the 21st lvl cloud giant adventure from Dungeon. "Storm Lord's Keep" was the name of it, I believe.

It's not in the AP. I was thinking about using the hold of Jarl Grnorgrak from Dungeon magazine #89's adventure "Headless". It might work nicely to combine it with the main story of the path and it has Orcus! The deadgate (an artifact from this adventure) may even work well with the Tree of Shackled Souls. Haven't yet worked this out though.

I thought this was a nod to the old G2 Module--Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl. Figured if my PCs wanted to go that way, I would update the module to 3.5 (and the AP info--so, few giants left and no hook to the Fire Giants...)

I plan on using the Istivin 3-part adventure path, Dungeon #117-119, so the PCs can basically figure out the reason for Adimarchus to have an interest in Cauldron. Basically, his worshippers bound part of his soul to the volcano, a lot of planar entities are interested, etc...

And Jarl Khurok's keep is going to be the giant lair in the second adventure "Shadow of the Abyss" in #118.

Thanks guys some food for thought there - now how do I stop my party running of to certain doom? (no answers required to that poser)

Anybody see that Star Trek where Capt. Kirk was on the Native American world and he was all, "I...am...Khurok!"?
Onnyhoo...

Headless would be very good, I ran that instead of Deep Horizon as I thought it sucked. My players loved it.

Converting the epic adventure could work, have the cloud giants travelling down to Jarl Khurok's Halls from the Hellfurnances after an abscence of many years to visit or replace them with frost giants.

Alternatively use Crumbling Hall of the Frost Giant Jarl found free at WotC website here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/oa/20020329a as a side trek.

Or buy against the giants from Paizo downloads for $4 here: http://paizo.com/store/downloads/wizardsOfTheCoast/aDAndD2/greyhawk/v5748bt py7mng and use the frost giant bit.

Just to add to what is here...
I plan to use a series of adventures (available for free on D&D website) as a Journey to Karran Kural quest. Since Kurran is all icy I think a fitting location for this towb would be in the mountains south of Cauldron. This will allow me to flesh out the Haunted Village, Khurok, and the area south of Cauldron. Here is a list of contenders in order of the journey.

Altar of Ghostly wealth
Part of the Pack?
Fallen Angel?
Ill Wind in Friezford 14 (Haunted Village)****
Harvest of Evil
Stone Dead? 14
Black Rain? 15 assault on temple of st cuthburt

The Kaorti Ubercyst
Cult of Tharizud
Mind War
Frozen Whispers
Viroe’s Aerie
A question of Ethics 12
Fiat Accompli 12
Frozen Whispers
The Cave of Icy Wonders
Into the Frozen Waste
Tower in the ice
A Frigid Demise
Winter’s Heart Glacier
Crumbling Hall of the Frost Giant Jarl

Sounds like frostburn would be handy as well then :)

You'll have fun with this mini-campaign. The three adventures and the Istivin background info make for one of the best trilogies ever published in dungeon IMHO.
