A party travels at half speed because everyone is making spot checks.
If the module says a monster attacks spellcasters in the back,
they suffer the consequences when the bowman (ie fighter)
hangs back to better use his bow.
Give that Elf the first vorpal sword the party finds.
I have seen bowmen with no armor in the back of the party.
If a wizard conjures illusionary armor and runs forward
to deliver touch attacks, my NPCs would think fighter.
As a DM I role play, not munchkin play.
The people I play with have to justify stuff with backstory.
I need to buy the Shackled City, to hit idiots with if
nothing else.
Back to the Age of Worms.
One of the Grimlocks was a bully who attacks the weakest character.
Sorry, but the two toughest PCs always crash through the
door first and he had no way of stalling.
The box text did not justify waiting for all the characters to enter.
Sometimes it does.
