I'm running Age of Worms and none of my players want to run a cleric this time around, so they want to recruit a cleric from the town. I thought it would be interesting if the Iconics from Dungeon were available as recruitable NPCs... Do they have official names?

Not officially. Although two (perhaps three) of them formed the basis for characters played in Erik Mona's Age of Worms campaign he's running for the art and editorial staff of the magazines.
The paladin (on the cover of #117) served as the model for Wes Schneider's character Abelard, although this character ended up getting killed very early into the Whispering Cairn by a swarm of acid beetles (which is, incedentally, why the iconic paladin seems to be in dire trouble almost every time he's been illustrateed in the magazine since issue #124).
The cleric of Wee Jas (on the cover of #131) served as the model for my own character, Tyralandi Scrimm. Turns out, playing a character who can rebuke and command undead in the Age of Worms campaign isn't always good for party unity, but given time, I'm sure I'll make them all converts to my way of thinking.
The half-elf rogue (on the cover of #122) was originally going to serve as the model for Sean Glenn's character Taan, but he ended up at the last moment deciding to make a different character.
In any event, we've taken to calling the paladin "Abelard" and the cleric "Tyralandi" around the office, so that's, I guess, about as official a set of names for those two. None of the other five really have names at all yet.

Somehow I didn't picture James' character wearing red....however, it is very nice artwork on #131. I normally don't get excited over such things, but I did have kind of an adolescent crush on Joan Jett and Patricia Morrison (bass player for the Sisters of Mercy). Ann Wilson too....before she got really heavy...guess I liked brunettes more than I thought.
Can you play a redhead next time, James?

I'm surprized that, since two of them basically have names, the rest don't. I think it's great that Dragon/Dungeon has its own iconics. I'm also somewhat surprized that they haven't been used in Dragon's class based section.

I love that! My favorites are when he is blocking dragon's breath with his shield. Great! That's one awesome frickin shield. The ranger with the wolf pelt cloak gets herself in a mean mess of trouble sometimes too if I recall. I love the picture of her arrow-to-maw with a dire tiger. Forget which issue.
I take it that the Ranger is a Wolf Nomad? Perhaps she is distantly related to Mika?

1.) You can't commit Seppoku because your not samurai. Seppoku is for nobles do to the fact that it requires a "second" to remove the head after the deed is done, or if it looks like it's about to end too soon. the best you could hope for is...2.) My personal favorite of the iconic characters is the female human ranger that wears the wolf skin. Why? I don't know, really. It's hard to explain. I guess that's just the kind of thing that apeals to me. Being that a couple of the other iconics have unofficial names, I'd love to hear one for her too, if it exists.
being bald myself (deliberately), i find the sorcerer to be pretty cool. especially due to his slightly oriental clothing design.

Those names are beautiful. I mean, how many words do you know that let you say "er" twice in a row? Sorcerer. Pure poetry.
And as for Ranger? Why that's just one letter change from Danger. Drop the R entirely and you've got Anger. The nuances may be subtle, yet they lose none of their impact.
Clearly a lot of thought and creativity went into these names.

i've noticed the recent addition of a female fighter(?) with horns and a tail. what race (and class, assuming that i'm wrong about her being a fighter) is she and who's char is that one? she reminds somewhat of the satyxis fighter in my own Iron Kingdoms/Age of Worms campaign (sans tail, of course).

Just got my Dungeon 143... Didn't really dig the new iconics for Savage Tide, but there's nothing like a smoking hot female wizard to make me start wondering who the hell these people are (again.) So, any new answers beyond Abelard and Tyralandi?

Chances are minimal for any of them becoming minis, alas. I won't say never, since two of Dungeon's covers have become minis so far (Warduke and the Githyanki Lich Queen). If it DOES happen, it'll certainly not be all 11 of them.
And as for names, none of them have names apart from the two who have inspired PCs here at the office.

The cleric inspired me to make my character Tyralandi for Erik's Age of Worms game he's running at the office here. Wes Schneider followed suit and rolled up a paladin based on our iconic paladin—he's named Abelard. Alas, he also died in the second session, which is why, throughout the Age of Worms, you'll see that poor paladin placed in some precarious positions in the art.
