Is it weird that I have ZERO interest in being anything martial? If I'm in D&D world and I have to pick up a weapon then something has gone horribly wrong with my plan.

IRL I'm 6'1'' and 210, so not small or elf like. However Given the option I'd be an elven mage with no hesitation.

Naturally. In the game, when you get hit with a flail for 8 points of damage, you just mark it off on the character sheet.

If you got hit with a flail in real life, it would f$$@ing hurt. I don't care how many hit points you have, you don't want that shit to happen.

People dreaming of melee haven't thought things through.

I think a lot of it really depends on what 'D&D-land' is in question.

I'm not sure I'd want to be anyone, in Athas or Ravenloft, or in Nidal or the Scarlet Brotherhood or Thay!

But in the Forgotten Realms, Halrua sound like an *awesome* place to live, if one is an arcane spellcaster.

Hermea or Evermeet could be very cool, again, if one is a member of the chosen people.

Golarion is also far game.

This thread started in 2005, before there was a Pathfinder game or a published Golarion campaign setting.

IRL,I would equate to a Bard 1(Archivist)/Barbarian 1.

NERD RAGE FTW :P

Liberty's Edge

half-elf avenger sounds fun :D

......

Sovereign Court

Halfling cleric of Cayden Cailean. Heavy on the CHA and WIS.

Or human fighter-type with a major obsession with heavy crossbows. "Kill 'em from a distance is what my paw always told me."

Shadow Lodge

Half-Dragon Halfling Court Bard. My friends hate the fact my humor can make it hard for them to do anything but laugh, so Satire fits nicely. Halflings are awesome, and I would have wings!

Or

Pseudodragon Wizard. Tiny little dragon with a spellbook just seems like it would be fun.

Or

Human Bard(archeologist). All the seemingly random bits of knowledge without the need to Perform.

Shadow Lodge

Elven wizard. Long-lived and prestidigitation is a must without modern comforts.

Dark Archive

I would like to be Dungeon Master.

And I for one would not take any lip from Venger.

Me and my friends did this a while back, "stating out ourselves" if we were in a RPG RL world.

We never brought levels into account but stats we did, 16s being the highest for any of us(save myself for a specific reason) and should therefore be considered the maximum. we had no input on ourselves it was speculation on the group, so our peers voted on our classes.

Myself i was stated as such

M Human Fighter/Rogue CG
str 16
dex 14
con 18(3 time cancer survivor by the age of 21)
int 14
wis 9
cha 12

The Exchange

I would go Ranger even though I would have the voice of Willie Ames.

The Exchange

I think I need to re-evaluate....I originally went with elven fighter/cleric but it really isn't me.
I would have to say probably a dwarven ranger.

The Exchange

I would be... passing through the digestive tract of a Huge monster, probably within minutes of arrival.
