What sci fi series ideas would you like see?
I would like to see a Brimstone type idea reworked and relaunched, more though to pacing to gave up to much to fast, more ensemble, darker.
A interplanetary exploration show - grittier than Star Trek, more linear - each episode dealing with social issues - a world without money, without religion, with many religions, environmental challenges, went too far with a technology, etc. But when things are learned, tech acquired it is sensibly incorporated into future episodes. Stargate gets close but then gets cheesy soemtimes and is gettig a bit long in thte tooth - and the notion that it all stas secret from the populace at large is - tired at this stage.
A high adventure fantasy - low magic D&D basically.

I'd like to see Robert Adams Horseclans series of books done into a mini-series. Telepathic sabertooth prairie cats, nomadic horsearchers, depraved Greek descendant cities, evil scientists, immortals, large scale battles, Ganiks slaughtered by the hundreds by fine Pitzburk steel...Bili the Axe....oh, yeah!!

I would like to see Asimov's Foundation trilogy as a series. In the origianl trilogy, the drama umfolds over three hundred years. I like the idea of expanding on that idea, where each season is a different period of time, with it's own exploration and conflicts. THe first book alone could be five full seasons, albeit with five different casts and story arcs.

I honestly say I prefer the B5 and anime-style series, where the point is to tell a story and then end it, rather than the Hollywood-style of "keep on throwing episode after episode onto the television."
I wouldn't mind seeing a one-season series based on "Armor" by John Steakley.
"Hyperion" and "The Fall of Hyperion" would be interesting to see as well.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell.
Especially if they attempted to re-create that "video-shot-on-a-soundstage" look of the BBC Pride and Prejudice.
That would rule.

Yes, a Cthulu Mythos-based series would be great, especially if set in the 1920s/30s. (It's just not right if there's computers and M16s.)
It could be based in Arkham town, with the investigators moving around as well (eg, Africa, England, South America, Antarctica), kind of X-Files meets Buffy, but with the bleak Mythos outlook.

Despite the abortive and half-rumped effort already foisted on us (by Sci-fi channel, I believe), I would love to see a new Riverworld (P.J. Farmer) series featuring both the main storyline & characters of the novel and perhaps an ancillary "Lost-style" flashback/vignette of random historical characters each episode that manages to briefly tie in to the main "Riverboat" & "Burton" plotlines.
Each season could represent one of the books in the series. And I think they should stay faithful to the storyline. No animals, and metal being uncommon. If they could get good actors and decent writers and stuck with the almost gothic-primitive feel of the novels, I think it would be a huge success.
