It seems to me that the sinspawn in the catacombs of wrath are much better off using just their natural attacks. The attack chain with the natural attacks has +1 damage over the ranseur, and also the bite attack has a much better chance to hit (which invokes the sinful bite ability).
I am thinking that having my sinspawn use their ranseurs would be a deliberate way to "take it easy" on my players, since that bite will almost never lay a hit on one of the party's front-liners.
Is it meant to be this way? And which way do you guys tend to play it?

My personal take: Where do the ranseurs come from?
The runewell creates creatures of wrath from blood. How would it create ranseurs?
So all my created sinspawn were nekkid and didn't have ranseurs; it didn't make sense to me that they would have them.
Worked fine for me.
I think this is perfectly fine.
I'd also like to suggest that the use of Ransuers is a superb way to introduce your players to the pointy end of having a 'reach' advantage. In many cases it can double the number of their attacks.

The way I ran it:
Any that are "newly hatched" from the runewell have only their natural weapons (claw/claw/bite). Only if enough time goes by - e.g., party leaves and returns a day or more later - do they get some ranseurs (from Tsuto, made by themselves, found in a secret stash, whatever).
Any that have been created before the party arrives will use ranseurs (and remind the players of reach weapons).
