Another Campaign, Another Character, Which to pick?

Advice

So I have another campaign rolling up, and I need help deciding which of these two characters to choose. Or go with something else entirely. The GM made two characters premade for each player, and everyone has chosen theirs but me. If we don't like either option then we can just make our own. We start at level 10.
The classes we have allowed are The Core Classes, plus Arcanist, Archivist from 3.5, and the Oracle.

LN Male Drow Archivist of Zon-Kuthon 10
(A generalist with a focus on utility and support)

or

NE or CN Male Human Sorcerer 3/Cleric of Lamashtu 3/ Mystic Theurge 4
(Battlefield controler, and the party face, focus on divination)
If I go this character, I'm not sure if I want to go NE or CN, because both suck.

Party Composition

CE Male Human Rogue 9/Assassin 1
(Sadist, murderer, and torturer, he is the classic "chaotic stupid" character, but still does what our leader says, and risks his life for the party)

CG Male Gnome Illusionist 10
(Absolute random nut, he loves to befundle his foes and prank his friends, and he is probably the most hated character in the party, he is extremely annoying)

LN Male Elf Ranger 10
(Professional tracker and survivalist, he is our glorious leader and we follow him blindly.)

LG Male Human Monk 3/Paladin 7
(Moral Compass of the party, he is trying with extreme effect to redeem the evil doers in the party, which he has sworn to do. Complete Tank and Secondary Scout.)

TN Female Halfling Cleric of Calistria 8/Druid 1/Shadowdancer 1
(Heal and buff bot, she is encouraging the party to take a step towards neutrality and enlightenment, but frequently conflicts with the paladin)

The Exchange

I wouldn't take any of your GM has made. Would roll neutral alignment elven or half elven bard(ancestral arms for longbow). Give the bard trapfinder trait from Mummy's mask and we're good to go. Though putting a CE character in same party as an LG one is just asking for more trouble then its worth and I don't think much of your GM for that.

MTs pretty much suck for battlefield control because of their MADness and they access their spells late, so their maximum spell DCs are lower. A case could be made for early entry (which is now not legal) but this is not the case for the character made by the GM.

I'm sorry, the CG illusionist is the most hated character in the party?let's reflect on that a bit.

I'm normally against Mystic Theurge, but at that level they actually start to become viable. Does the sorcerer have the empyreal bloodline? That makes for WIS based spellcasting helping out the stats. Just pick all the spells that aren't caster level dependent. Maybe a couple caster bases but offensive spells don't work then, so I would mostly go for buffs.

If you don't like either I've heard good things about Skalds. Another damage dealer couldn't hurt and they're great at buffing.

Getting to start a character at 10 is pretty sweet for playing 'late bloomer' types that take time to come together. A well done Eldritch Knight or Dragon Disciple is really rolling by level 10.

Are you allowed archetypes? What feats/spells?

An Oracle with Lore, Nature or Lunar Mystery can be good at fighting, aggressive spellcasting, supporting spellcasting and social skills all at once.

So you have a debuffer, a buffer, and 3 goons probably of varying effectiveness. Scouting is well taken care of. The MT is going to be strictly inferior to the cleric and illusionist and should not be considered a serious option. The archivist is a possibility.

If you don't like either then what would sort of character you like to play? There's no requirements as all absolute party needs seem to be met, your field is wide open.

Liberty's Edge

Since you have access to the Archivist from 3.5 I would suggest that. It's a pretty fun caster, I played a few of those and at level 10 you start getting some very nice party buff abilities. Stock up on scrolls off the Druid list and enjoy all the fun spell druids get that nobody else does. Depending on what level you get up to the Archivist also gets a no save stun ability just by making a knowledge check which is amazing in my opinion.

- You can buff like the bard for the martial will like you
- You have all casting off the Cleric list
- You can learn spells off other divine lists with scrolls
- You are the knowledge person and get better at it than almost anyone else
