Paizo Publishing's incredible award-winning fantasy RPG is now the ultimate fantasy comic from Dynamite Entertainment!

Valeros can rely on his sword arm and his friends, the mysterious and beautiful sorcerer Seoni and the silver-tongued quick-witted elven rogue Merisiel, but nothing can prepare him for the dangers that lurk ahead. The scattered and chaotic goblin tribes of Varisia are changing, growing in power and unifying in ways no one has ever seen before. At the heart of this strange evolution is an ancient evil looking to establish itself anew.

The iconic heroes at the core of the Pathfinder world are brought to life for the first time in a brand-new story full of charm and high adventure that will please fans and entertain new readers alike. Issue 1 clocks in at 40 pages, and includes more than 10 pages of character profiles and Pathfinder RPG game statistics, plus an EXCLUSIVE removable, playable tactical map and poster.

This cover variant was produced by Dynamite Entertainment specifically for distribution at Gen Con 2012. Preorders for this extremely limited edition will be filled only if stock remains after the convention.

This product is not part of any subscription, but Pathfinder Comics subscribers receive a 15% discount on limited-edition cover variants including this one.

So... did any of this awesome cover make it out of Gencon? Or did they all get snapped up?

There was a small amount left over after the con. They got shipped back with the booth. Once all that is in the warehouse, they will count them up and put them up for sale. This could take a few weeks.

:o

Are there so few that those of us with preorders should be worried?

Scarab Sages

Any chance we could get one to send away with subscriptions?

Ahh well hope I managed to snag one then :) Thanks Lisa!

I think they are just talking about the Gencon exclusive cover, which did not have preorders, not the paizo.com cover

I preordered the Gencon exclusive cover.

When did you preorder it, Steve?

Because the description specifically says preorders will only be filled if stock remains after the convention.

Lisa did say they came away with a limited supply, but that was just yesterday.

I picked up two copies myself, at the con.

Hmm. The day it was available, I suspect, but I dont really know. (Looks like it was August the 3rd if I'm reading my order history right..)

Hopefully the number wending their way back from GenCon will be greater than the preorders. It would be disappointing to not get a full set of covers.

Damn pacific ocean - getting in the way again and ruining my fun. :(

Hey Steve.

I think you might be confused mate. All the previous preorders are for the 4 artist covers and 1 paizo.com exclusive cover.

This item is yet another cover. It was not announced on here before and was released at GenCon hence the Gencon only label. Lucky for us there are a few left to purchase.

When it comes to IT issues, it's generally sound policy to assume I'm confused. :)

However in this case I do actually have a copy of this (together with another of the variant copies) sitting in my sidecart "to be shipped with a future subscription".

It's entirely possible I broke the system somehow - I have a habit of doing that with computers. :(

Scarab Sages

Wow. Nice. I will swap you!

Well, I'm hopeful there'll be enough left to cover it. Looking at an incomplete set will bug me for some irrational reason. (Plus I like the GenCon cover).

Steve:

I am pretty sure you have nothing to worry about in terms of the remaining stock covering preorders. I can't check how many preorders there are from home, but the number coming back from the con is in the hundreds, so I bet you are safe.

-Lisa

Awesome! Thanks Lisa. And congratulations on another successful gen con. :)

Scarab Sages

Thanks for the info Lisa!

Steve,

Just curious, but as it appears you are trying to collect all the different covers, but did you also preorder the special limited covers, as well? Limited as in the multiple hundred dollar covers.

I was initially going to collect one of each, but was talked out of it (thankfully) by Fredrik.

I'm something of a completist by nature though, so my compromise position is to collect one of each of the distinctly different covers. So I'm not getting the foil, black and white or virgin covers. I also didn't get the blank "you decide" cover.

I am getting the gen con cover and the sketch incentive (those are the two I preordered in early August) together with the deluxe subscription.

No you're not the only one, I preordered this cover when I bought my subscription. I'm deliberately avoiding trying to get all the covers, because that way lies madness/an empty wallet, but this one was too cool to pass up :)

Awesome news Lisa, can't wait :)

Scarab Sages

I am a deluxe comic subscriber and did not know that this cover could be preordered. I feel ripped. I thought the deluxe gave you the four variant artist covers plus the paizo.com exclusive.

That is the deluxe subscription - five covers all up. This is a sixth (and it sounds like you'll probably be able to get one once they arrive back from gen con). The second and third issues have some additional, alternate covers you can preorder too - though not as many as for issue one - just the retailer incentives.

Paizo Employee Chief Technical Officer

Masika, I think you're confusing subscriptions and preorders. The basic sub gets you the paizo.com exclusive, and the deluxe sub gets you the 4 standard covers plus the paizo.com exclusive. Either sub also gets you a discount on any or all of the six covers (including the Gen Con exclusive) that aren't part of any sub.

All of the variant covers for #1, including this one, were made available for preorder at the exact same time.

Scarab Sages

Thanks Vic... I thought I missed something.

Silver Crusade

Hello, I was wondering when this might get shipped, as this has been holding up my order for some time. I understand that It had to wait until after Gencon, to be shipped back to Paizo probably. Just curious to know how much longer you think It might be, Thanks.

Lisa posted (somewhere or other) that once the alternate covers come back from GenCon they need to be inventoried (or some such verb) and that that usually takes twoish weeks after the convention. I'd be hoping to see them in time for the next monthly subscription shipment (but Paizo havent actually said that will happen).

Silver Crusade

Thank You, Steve for the possible timeline.
