Lesser Watch Miniature

2/5

I like that it matches with the Watch Guard figure. Other than that, it is not great. The stance is weird and makes him look like he is leaning back awkwardly. The shield is a flat gray and the cloak is a flat blue. It could have used an emblem of some sort. They could have tampo'd one on there to give it some definition.

blah paint scheme

3/5

I like this mini for the most part. That pose and paint quality on the ones I got are not bad. The biggest draw back on this and the watch guard though are both the blah color scheme of them. I know they are simple guards, but the boring solid brown shirt and trousers just look, well blah.

A fine generic

4/5

Every town watch needs steadfast sergeants, and this piece fills the bill nicely.

The sculpt is solid for the most part. The pose is energetic and interesting, and the face actually has some definition for once (maybe I just got a bad brick, because most of the faces on my guys are just awful). There's good detail in general, especially of the hands and the belt. I wish there were more detail on the back, because the piece couldn't be any duller from behind, but overall it's not bad.

The paint job is a little drab and uninspiring, but it's good enough that it makes the piece at least a little interesting in places. Again, there should be something on the cloak back to keep it from being a big blue blob, and the shield is distracting when left blank, but overall it's a good job for what must be one of the more common pieces in the set.

Like a boss.

4/5

Another good generic. I prefer the other Watch Guard but this one is pretty good as well. I am still skeptical about the pose. A little more like a foot soldier than an officer.
