Too many card feats

Pathfinder Adventure Card Game General Discussion

Playing as Alahazra, I'm a big fan of blessings and spells, but I don't really like other card types. My first card feats went to blessings and spells, but now I'm gaining more card feats and I don't want to spend them. Any card I take will get me a lower fraction of blessings in my deck, which means less scrying and less uncursing.

I checked the rules, and it looks like I'm required to take card feats -- there's no option to decline.

So, I don't think I really have a question here. I just wanted to gripe. :) I wish more of my card feat boxes were on the spells or blessings tracks.

Well, I suppose if you don't want more health, that's your business. ;)

Allies often allow additional explorations. Some allow healing or can be recharged for their power, allowing you to cycle through cards more quickly and enabling you to get those nifty spells and blessings.

Many items can be very useful, similar to allies though usually not allowing additional explorations.

Armor just might prevent you from losing health.

There's a certain balance in card feats not being stacked to support a character's best powers. As in real life, over-specialization removes flexibility.

Basically, don't give the other card types short shrift just because they don't cater to your main powers. All card feats are useful, even if it's for nothing more than giving you an additional health point.

This problem goes back to RotR, where Sajan would be just as happy not getting card feats after he maxed out at 10 blessings.

One tactic is to aim for cards that bury to use. Failing that, banish-on-use, but then you have to keep replacing them.

Mummy's Mask has several display cards, too. It's definitely possible to use those card feats then slim things back down.

Yeah, carrying around a Banner of Valor and Chalice of Ozem, or even Knight's Pennon won't hurt your Alahazra too badly, trust me.

Otherwise, this is similar to how some characters are *required* to increase their Hand Size pre-role (making them potentially more vulnerable). You may not *like* it, but it's part of the hero's balance and if you want the good , you'll have to take the bad too.

Look for the Commune spell. It buries itself and you draw a non-basic blessing from the box.

Yes, there Are Many cards that Are usefull when you bury them. Also some recharge cards Are usefull and don't clog you hand.

If you aren't playing solo, you can take a card just to hand it off to someone else.

I don't mind card feats, I just wish we could trade one of them for a power feat... I always feel I end with one point too few.
