I like the Boarding Pike as well, simple, understated, and Google images has some interesting depictions of the boarding pike.

I have to say that I do like the x4 of the Naginata.

Eh, for some reason, the bardiche & the fauchard, while having a great damage die and special abilities, they don't have that...certain panache. At least for me.

Any more? Or more fans of any of the aforementioned weapons?

I've never made a reach weapon character, and I'm thinking of giving it a shot. I'm kind of inspired by Nonnus the Pewleman from the David Drake Lord of the Isles series. But here's the thing. Many of the reach weapons seem the same to me, a la the Mortal Kombat palette swap ninjas.

So, sell me on your favorites. Be it damage die, special abilities, or even rule of cool, sell me on it.

I'm thinking of perhaps the simple Longspear.

Thanks for the quick and insightful replies guys. Looks like I'll generally have to give up on my Half-Orc, Orc Bloodline Sorcerer raging too. lol Just can't afford to dip, especially with the campaign going from 3rd to 10th.

What are the was, and how can it be done? Looking for any wondrous items, spells, etc, that can simulate the effects of a Barbarians Rage, extra points if it's a morale bonus.

Who can help me out?

Thanks for all the wonderful suggestions. Here is what I've decided to play, and if anyone is interested, please, by all means, suggest away any improvements! Thanks again for all the replies and suggestions.

A Net and Spear/Trident fighter type. Unfortunately, the Net Master feat/s are a mess. Has there ever been any clarifications or official rulings concerning them? And, anyone got any builds?

Starting a new campaign, 3rd level, SWBL, no more than 1/3 spent on a single item, 20 point buy, 2 Traits, Full HP at 1st, Average+1 after that. I have chosen a Half-Orc Sorcery w/the Orc Bloodline. Here goes.

Strength - 14
Dexterity - 14
Constitution - 14
Intelligence - 10
Wisdom - 10
Charisma - 16

AC 13 (10 + 2 Dex + 1 Natural Armor)
FF 11
Touch 12

HP 26
Speed 30 ft
Intimidate 10
Knowledge Arcana 4
Spellcraft 6

O lvl Spells
Acid Splash (w/Acid Flask focus, and Orc Bloodline Arcana = 1d3+2)
Detect Magic
Mage Hand
Resistance
Protective Penumbra (Gm Approval)

1st Level Spells
Bloodline Spell: Burning Hands
Color Spray
Grease
Mage Armor

Trait #1: Optimistic Gambler - Effects that grant morale bonuses last 1d4 rounds longer than normal.
Trait #2: Magical Lineage - I wanted to do Fireball, but I'm not sure what spell to pick really. Some type of blasting spell, preferably fire based.

1st lvl Feat: Toughness
3rd lvl Feat: Improved Initiative - Though I really debated on Combat Casting.

His Orc Bloodline has given him the following, thus far: You gain the orc subtype, including darkvision 60 feet and light sensitivity. If you already have darkvision, its range increases to 90 feet. Whenever you cast a spell that deals damage, that spell deals +1 point of damage per die rolled. Touch of Rage (Sp): At 1st level, you can touch a creature as a standard action, giving it a morale bonus on attack rolls, damage rolls, and Will saving throws equal to 1/2 your sorcerer level (minimum 1) for 1 round. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. (I like this with Opportunistic Gambler)

Fearless (Ex): At 3rd level, you gain a +4 bonus on saving throws made against fear and a +1 natural armor bonus.

He wields for weapons so far :
Master Work Falchion +4 to hit for 2d4+3
Heavy Crossbow +3 to hit for 1d10
Javelin +3 to hit for 1d6+2

FORT 3 REF 3 WILL 3
+4 VS Fear based effects.

Well, there you have it. I'm looking to have some decent melee, with some decent blasting, with some decent social interaction. I'm not looking for anything terribly overpowered.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Feat selection? When to begin selecting Metamagic feats? Is Combat Casting worth it?

Thanks for your time! Feel free to ask anything for further clarification. Btw, I'm also looking to model him a bit off of Torglarok, a member of the Orcish Pantheon.

"Torglarok, the Heart of Fire (The Storm): One of Arakan's twins, Torglarok is the insane provider of unbridled abundance of the orcs. Represented by the volcano, underground chambers of magma, and the solidity of metal and stone, Torglarok surges forth with the gifts of stone, fire, energy, materials, and gravity for all. Known to have a mercurial temper, but always with a sense of generosity, Torglarok is both loved and feared, as his gifts bestow strength but also cause senseless destruction. Early in Torglarok's existence, his heart of fire was stolen by a lesser deity and used to forge weapons for the enemies of the orcs. When Torglarok discovered this his rage was unsurpassed and the offending deity (a now forgotten god) was consumed in Torglarok’s fires and the weapons claimed as spoils. Orcs now see him as the source of everything worthwhile, yet with the potential of abundant, generous destruction. His color is red.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral"

Starting a 3rd level campaign, and I want to break out of my endless cycle of Paladins, Monks, 2H Fighters and the occasional Cleric. Based off of that repeating character list - What would you recommend? Sell me on a character class that's the diametric opposite of what I've been playing.
